Default In need of some recipes

    Hello,

i am needing some help with some recipe ideas. My biggest problem is that my husband is not on a diet and loves his meat and potatoes. I can't throw some eggplant on his plate he would freak Problem is i would be willing to try a few new things, but dont like the idea of cooking 2 differnt meals. Any suggestions for some lowfat comfort food so to speak?

    Thanks,
    Tanya

same problem here!! I saw last night on the biggest loser show, go to nbc.com and find on there chef Rocco's fried chicken recipie. I am going to print that one out for sure.
I have been cooking say for example baked potatoes, bake husband a white one and bake you a sweet potatoe. Not any more time and they both go in the oven... Meat, well if you have like a george foreman grill, grill burgers. Just buy extra lean or super lean meat... For taco's I mixed 1/2 turkey burger with 1/2 beef and then put in taco seasoning, He never even noticed. Its really overwhelming at first trying to figure out how to fix you healthy and husbands "normal man food" but just start little and then all kinds of things will come to you.

    Good Luck!!

Oh gosh, I would have a ton of low carb comfort food for you, but definitely not low cal or low fat.
I have one low fat/low cal chicken recipe.
Peanut oil (enough for frying chicken...like a two T)
    Almonds
    Strips of chicken breast
    sesame oil (about six drops)
    green onion
    cerely
    soy sauce

Saute the almonds first in the peanut oil. Take them out and then (on high heat, fry the chicken strips with the green onion. when it's almost done cooking, add soy sauce, cerely and sesame oil (I also add a splash of french cooking sherry).

It's almond chicken. It's really good. It's pretty low fat......

    Hope that helps...

Default Salisbury Steak, 5 WW points

Here's one that my husband loves. It's really yummy, too! It's only 5 WW points if you ever do Weight Watchers.

    Superfast Salisbury Steak

    3/4 lb. ground turkey breast
    3/4 lb. ground round
    1/3 cup dry breadcrumbs
    2 large egg whites
    Cooking Spray
    3/4 cup water
    3 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons Madeira wine or dry sherry
    1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 can (10-1/2-ounce) condensed French onion soup (like Campbell's)

Combine first 4 ingredients. Divide meat mixture into 6 equal portions, shaping each into a 1/2-inch-thick patty. Heat a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add patties; cook 6 minutes or until browned, turning after 3 minutes. Remove patties from pan; keep warm. Stir in water and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; add patties. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Uncover and cook until wine mixture is reduced to 3/4 cup (about 10 minutes).

Yield: 6 servings (serving size: 1 patty and 2 tablespoons sauce). 5 WW points per serving.

Most of the tickers you see on people's sigs are actually links to the site where they got them. So click away on one you like and you will likely find a link there to create your own signature.

Depending on the ticker site, when you get done creating your ticker, you should get a list of various pieces of web code to cut and paste. You want the one that is labeled "BBC" code. That is the one that most forums support.

Once you've got that done, come back to the forums here, and click on the "User CP" option towards the top of the screen (on the line underneath the "Welcome" message. That will take you to your control panel where there is an option to edit your signature.

You can put whatever message you want into your signature, then paste the code that you copied from the ticker site. Save that and you should be done.

You can then post a new message, or better yet, edit one you've already posted. Your signature (along with the ticker) should appear.
