Actually an egg is considered 1 carb by Atkins. Its .6 on the nutritional label of my eggs. Better to just round up to 1. Also ketchup has carbs. 4g per Tbsp...so be careful about that. If you are interested in low carb got Dr atkins Diet revolution book. Its only about $6-7. Or go to www.atkins.com and get all the same information for FREE!

One of my quick favorites for breakfast. Keep in mind though that I am one of those who does not like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, so this is a really easy quick breakfast and it is pretty healthy too:

Don't have a name for it, it's just my favorite throw together:

Take 2 slices of tomato and chop them up into little squares add them to a bowl of 3 scrambled eggs, sprinkle in a dash or two of basil and mix it up. Throw it in the microwave for about 1-2 minutes scrambling/mixing as needed. When done take out of microwave and add some shredded Mozarella cheeze. Happy eating!!! Healthy breakfast in 5 minutes.

    Question

Yay!!! More Atkin follower's ... I barely started taking phentermine 3 days ago and have been doing Atkins for a while now, but I started stalling. Eventhough i'm a little aprehensive about taking pills I guess losing weight wins the battle. So far i've been feeling really good with the phen, and i'm happy that it decreases my apetite since as I go down in weight I have to learn to lessen my calories and it's not easy.

Hmm I try not to eat the franken food (shakes, bars, and all the other low carb foods to many sugar alchols for me, and most aren't really aceptable for induction). I'm also lessening my splenda and cheese intake, and have stopped drinking everything but water and unsweetened tea. I'm hoping that Phen along with a clean induction will jump start my weight loss again. Oh and favorite treat for induction, is flax bread.

PS. Flax will really help move thing along ahem...lot's of fiber lol...which I guess is important when taking Phen..at least by what I've read.

    Quick recipes I use:

Canned tuna, chicken, or salmon...sauteed in olive oil or butter, throw in spinach, mushrooms, or brocolli (all frozen veggies I can use just a little at a time). Usually add spices...pepper, salt, hmm lemon pepper, or soy sauce.

Microwave flaxbread...(got the recipe from the http://atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/)posted by Elizellen

    Ingredients:
    25 grams (1 oz) Butter
    2 Medium Eggs

    4 heaped tbsp ground flax
    1/2 tsp baking powder

    How to Prepare:

Melt butter and add eggs and mix
Add ground flax (ground linseed) and baking powder and mix till smooth(ish).
Leave a minute or so to thicken up then put into a microwaveable container about 5" x 4" and nuke for 3 minutes.
    Turn out and cool.
Makes a dense loaf, quite spongy but less so when it cools.
Good for sandwiches, toast, and grated as breadcrumbs.
You could add parmesan and herbs to make a savoury loaf.

(I usually tweak this by adding some liquid splenda, Atkins SF vanilla or chocolate...mmm I've also tried cocoa (makes a mock chocolate cake)...oh and I've added bannana extract to it and that tastes good. )

The turkey and ham roll ups are always easy with either mayo or sour cream...oh and i've learned that I love jicama with chile and lemon, or splenda and cinnamon.

Flax pancakes are pretty good to...just add a couple of tbspns of flax to scrambled eggs and a lil sweetner if you like and top with Atkins SF syrup.

Chicken with brocolli and carb options alfredo sauce.

hmm...if your craving something real sweet you can try clouds...cream cheese mixed with unsweetened butter, splenda, and vanilla.

Diet rite with a lil heavy cream is good to.

Quick snacks: boiled eggs, porkrinds, rollups, cheese,...

I'll keep thinking...there's a good recipe forum at the atkins diet bulletin board site, but with the phen and all I doubt i'll be craving much.

I am awfully confused. I had heard that atkins didn't work well with phentermine. To get HEALTHY results a low fat, low calorie diet with excersie should be used. If I ate the stuff in the above diets, my cholesterol would be through the roof and I'd be the next circus fat lady. But, that's just me.
    Here's my diet:
Breakfast: 3/4 cup Special K cereal with 1/2 cup skim Milk Approx. 180 Cal. 0 Fat

Snack: Small cup, low-fat yogurt 110 Cal 0 Fat

Lunch: 6" Subway Sub on a honey oat roll, with turkey, no cheese, veggies, fat free chips and diet soda
    350 Cal 4.5 Fat

Snack: 5 dried appricots 90 Cal 0 Fat

Dinner: Broiled Scallops, green salad with low fat dressing. 300 Cal 9 Fat

    Total: 1030 Cal 13.5 Fat
Maintaining 1000-1200 Cal and <22g Fat.

I was an Atkins dieter for many years, and some of the trick that they gave me was to cut out the processed meats ie the bacon and deli meats, cut way back on your cheeses because these do contain carbs that can keep your strips from turning as well. If you dont have the book get it , if you have it read it! And read it again, I always found it helpful to read it over and over for support, somtimes I would call the Atkins center and get help to my questions as well! It sounds like you are all doing great and I wish you all luck!

The second number could include the amount of calories with 2% milk or something. Usually it says so at the top of the nutrition chart.

I'm probably so with this but I will post anyway. This is a typical day for me:

Breakfast: early morning cup of coffee with splenda and sugar free cream
8am - fruit - usually blueberries or plum
    lunch - special k drink
mid afternoon - sugarfree jello or pudding
    supper - meat and veggie

I started this diet Sept. 16th with Phen - stopped the Phen in late November. As of today I went from 197lbs to 158lbs! I started Phen today to jumpstart the last 18lbs I would like to use. My dr said I could only take it this month, and then not again for a year. The Phen will last me two months as I only take a half and do not take it on the weekends. I do watch what I eat...as I feel sooooo much better eating healthier!
