Hi Everyone,
I was just put on Phen yesterday, I've put on 45 lbs in the last 9 mos. and it's just gotten out of hand. I've been reading a lot of your success stories and am hoping for the same results. My Dr. told me no carbs whatsoever. Just vegetables, meats, and fruits. Also to get 1/2 hr. of exercise per day. Even if it's only walking. My question is, and it maybe silly, I drink coffee and I can't stand it without flavored creamer, it's been a long time since I've really seriously dieted...do I cut out the creamer for now...since my Dr. told me no sweets or bread or any of that stuff for now? Or can I still allow myself some of the things that I enjoy? I need a good diet that is simple to follow that doesn't need any prep time to it, because of my work schedule. Has any of you done Slimfast with this medicine and if so what was the outcome? Thanks, Becca

Thumbs down
slimfast ****s. let's face it a "meal" you drink just never replaces the need"urge" to chew. I found it just adds extra calories because I still ended up eating something later. Isnt Slimfast mostly carbs anyway?

Cool
Becca,
Hey There! I too am new to this site.I have found it to be very welcoming. I do the coffee thing too!! I have gave up Dr Pepper, Sugar in Tea all sweets, but not my cream and little sugar in my Java. Since I started the phen 3 days ago, I'm not drinking as much.Mainly inthe am, but I do put it away Girl!! It's not good to do too much caffine with it. Just keep it in mind when you do your exercise, do a little more for that dab of cream. I've tried the fat free and it's just not for me. Good luck, and hope it helps.1

Thanks girls,
Yeah I noticed when I was reading the back of Slimfast, that it was a lot of carbs. So I did not do it.
And thanks texaschick for sharing that with me. We cannot give up all our little vices that we enjoy. And coffee with vanilla cinnamon creamer is one of mine.

Thanks,
Becca

If you don't want to end up where you were before, you need to find a balanced menu that you enjoy. Let's face it, when you are done with the phen, are you going to be able to continue going without the things you enjoy? I found that taking more time determining what foods are safe and then planning my meals around them was more satisfying and helps to create a new way of life that you can stay with even after the phen. The real secret is moderation and if your body is craving something, take a little bite and then STOP. Don't deprive yourself of eating or your body will go into starvation mode and your results won't be as good as if you ate well balanced meals. Don't skip meals and following the rules of the major food groups we learned as children. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables but be careful of the veggies that are full of carbs like potatoes and corn. Best to avoid these but a portion once a week won't hurt. Also, portion sizes are important. Your meat portions should be no larger than a playing card and your veggies and fruit should be about 1/2 cup per meal. Bread is okay if you eat whole wheat or whole grain and that helps with the bulk you need to keep from getting constipated. Salads, minus the cheeze, bacon bits and regular dressing go a long way in filling you up.
Drink tons of water and don't forget to exercise. If you do all of the above, that little bit of coffee creamer isn't going to hurt but try to use less of it. Good luck.
