Ok here is what we have!

7-Night Western Caribbean Sailing On The Rhapsody Of The Seas

Tue Key West, Florida 3:00 PM -
Wed Key West, Florida - 1:00 AM
Thu George Town, Grand Cayman 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
Fri Cozumel, Mexico 10:00 AM 7:00 PM
Sat At Sea - -
Sun Galveston, Texas 8:00 AM -

All rates are based on 2 in a cabin and are per person. This is what we have now, the rates may change, lower rate, and once these are full if we have more that want to add on then the rates may be different.

Lowest inside 520.55 per person
outside porthole or window 620.55 per person
Balcony 820.55 per person

Single rates would be (approx rates did not get quote so am working them up based on what a double would be)
Lowest inside 880.55
outside 1080.00
Balcony 1480.00

Payments are as follows

If you dont care about your cabin number
50 dollars per cabin Nov 30, 2002
If you want your cabin assigned now
500 per cabin by Nov 30,2002

For those that put up the 50 per cabin then the next deposit of 450 a cabin would be due
May 15, 2003

All names must be in by July 14, 2003

Final payment would be due August 3, 2003
After that time no refunds!

Nice work, Nitra. Do these prices include any port charges?
Also, what airport is closest to Galveston?

Those prices inclued port and taxes! For those of you that need to know.. closest airport is Houston, there are 2 options, one is Hobby, closest to Glaveston, about 45 miles, the other is Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and its about 75 miles. If you want to book the transfers thru the cruise line and/or the air let me know and when we get the names attached to the cabins I can have them do an air addon which would include the transfer. If you want to book your own air, Galveston Limo provides shuttle service from both airports. Ill see if I can find the thread from last time with all the info.

Remember most came in a night early and stayed at the Commodore. Im thinking if we want to do that this time I can call and see if I can book a block of rooms and get a better rate maybe. They are really nice there and its right across from the ocean and they provide a shuttle to the ship. Also we were all able to go out to Joe's Crab shack that night and had a great dinner together, its right next door!

I know this is a year away but just getting some of those details out of the way now. Keep in mind airfares change fast and often. If you find a great deal on flights, you might want to grab them. Its a little far out right now if you ask me. Maybe moony can let us know when Southwest has the rates out for Hobby for next October.

Ok all those that have gone on Royal Caribbean before remember to dig out those Crown and Anchor numbers, and watch for your coupons in the mail. Ill do all I can to get RCCL to let us use those discounts if we can.

I know the last group is all signing up if they have not done so yet! You start out at Gold but this time you will get to attend the Crown and Anchor party, which is really classy, and you will get the little coupon books on board like I had.

HOLY COW we are cruising again! Whats the next best thing to being on a cruise??? Its planning one!!!

Nitra you must have read my mind (scary isn't it) i wanted to get some info on flights. i definatly want to fly in the day before so i can unwind, well that and get all the drugs the doc is going to have to give me out of my system . any info on flights and rooms are great! i will fly out of charlotte.

Oh yea forgot one thing! I didnt include rates for triples or quads. If you want to buddy up with a few and get a little better rate Ill be happy to check. I will say this can cause some issues if at the last minute one cant go or two cant go! Happened last time. We worked around it but it was a little stressful for a few days there.

Also if you have never seen one of these cabins, they are small! I just cannot imagine 3 or 4 women getting ready for dinner at the same time but hey its done all the time. I would toss someone overboard.. LOL. If Salih doesnt go, then Im rooming alone! I love my space! Even with 2 women in a cabin it can get a little hairy at times but manageable. Just have to work together and have courtesy for each other.

Ok Im so excited Im rambling! Thanks to my mom for putting up the money now so I can get my cruise only gig up and running in time to get us these rates!

Oh yea we picked the same week as a tradition sort of thing. Figured if this becomes an annual event then it would be fun to make it the same week and then everyone can plan better.

One issue though... no refunds after August... what if there is an emergency of some sort?. I know its not likely, but my last vacation (through a TA) had a no refund policy too. My dad went into the hospital a couple days before we were leaving and we found out he had cancer and had to have surgery. I would of lost $3000.00 if we had cancelled!!. To say the least... I've had better vacations! I vowed never to get myself into anything like that again and have to make a choice like that. Do they have any type of insurance you can buy or anything like that? (where you would at least get back some of the money)???????

Ok at final we can add in the insurance, 99 a person and in the event of a family illness and you needed to cancel you would be covered. I say wait till final cause up until then its refundable! and if you buy the insurance sooner you would not get that money back. Also if you add on the insurance and your flight is cancelled or you have to cancel for other reasons there is a clause that will get you some of your money back, for a covered reason of course!

I would be presenting this at a later date normally but since it was brought up I am offering it now. You can also purchase your own insurance thru Travel Guard . They are a good company. I think they might be a little less than the cruise line offers too. (click on the name and it will take you to their website.)

The Commodore? We didn't like it - bugs, and our A/C was stuck on high, and something gross was dripping through the ceiling in the bathroom. It was only one night, so we didn't fuss over it. Is there an alternative place?

I'm going to be using alot of my tax return on this so I would only be able to put a small amount down so early in november with the holidays coming, and single parenting lol. LOL ok girl! I did a check and if you put 4 in a cabin it will be like about 370 a person but I have to confirm that. Also the other catch is, and I have to check this, on a quad they might not let yall get away with just the 25 a person for the initial deposit but Ill check on that and get back to you. So I know there are a few here needing roomies so yall put out a call for help and hook up!

In the mean time I need those PM's! There is a thread about this! Right now Im collecting info so I have it all for my records so I can make sure I have enough cabins held. Hate to find out later I dont and the price be more.

Well...I'm gonna be a downer Nitra. I'm backing out now....before its too late. I really just can't see spending the money again. I had plenty of warning this past time and it still put us in the hole. I just can't do it....won't do it. I'd rather take my family on a road trip to the Grand Canyon...or something...I just can't spend that kind of money again. When I'm out of college yeah...or if my art business really pics up by then.

Dan could get vacation time...but taking time off from college this year was tough for me...and next year is my senior year...

I'm just going on and on trying to explain...but the bottom line is I'm NOT going.

I will soooo be in Galveston the night before though!! That I can do...Dan and me in a room at the Commodore...or somewhere(we didn't have bugs in our room Nal!!) We'll eat at Joe's and I'll stay up late talking with the girls I hope!!

Awwwww del....I know what you mean. Actually, I was going to ask when the last day to get ALL your money back is (nitra) because we are having break trouble with the honda and I just have to be sure. It is really out of our budget too (yes, I know we have a year) but it will take us that long to recover from phencruise 2002! Anyway, Just need to know, because it isn't for sure. The prices are great (which will help) but I forget about airfare, and I have to get my credit cards paid back down! (both are maxed) We are going to put the deposit down, and make whatever payments up until the time when we can't cancel anymore, and then we will see where we are at that point. Anyway, just to WORN you, it isn't a FOR SURE thing we are going...we will try our hardest!!!

Del . Actually I'm ditto what Joline says, too. I'm putting the deposit and payments down, but I MAY need to back out, too. It's just impossible to know what will be going on financially a year from now, ya know? Right now it would be impossible for me to afford the cruise, but hopefully things will change for the better and I can afford it by the time it gets here. It's hard to plan cuz hubby works on 100% commission, so we never know what he's going to be bringing home from paycheck to paycheck. And my job is undependable as far as pay goes, too. We could be living in a cardboard box next October or we could be recovered enough financially to afford for me or us to go. I will try like heck to go, though - it was too much fun not to do again!!

Del...you have made some really good friends here in the forum and I can tell by their posts......they are not "down on you" for not being able to go.........I think everyone understands the $$$ part of this, they're just gonna miss you.
