Here are some of the shore excursions available.. I personally dont book shore excursions cause I like to hang out on shore and not spend my day having to be somewhere. I did do the one in Grand Cayman but out of 5 cruises that is the only one I ever took. Just show me the margaritas and leave me be!

    Cozumel, Mexico
The Conquistadors first saw Mexico from the shores of Cozumel while searching for gold. Today, visitors to the island continue to seek out gold and silver jewelry in the shops of San Miguel. Plus, the waters around Cozumel's shelter coral reefs make this one of the best snorkeling areas in the world.

Nitra - I'm assuming these are the ones offered by the cruise ship? Can we wait and just sign up onboard, or do we have to book ahead?

Yes those are the ones offered by the cruise line. Yes you can book on board. If there is one you are positive you want to do you can sign up early, I think within a month of the cruise. They may add some for Belize as it gets closer too. I mainly put those up so you have an idea about costs and can sorta budget in case some look interesting. If you want to read further about them go to Royalcaribbean.com and click on the shore excursions link then caribbean and then the port. YOu can click on each one and read more about what it involves.

Nitra, What if we don't scubba dive ? Will there be things for my husband and I to do without spending alot of extra money. We've never done anything like this and I want to be sure to get the best for our money. Niether of us scubba dive or anything more than swim in a pool. It will be the first time in a swim suit for me for like 3 years. I haven't worn shorts away from home for about the same amount of time. I plan on doing both but I don't think I want to subba dive. Will we be able to lay around in the sand at the beach? (no beaches in Dallas) I think that would be really great and hubby would go for that. I feel like I have a million questions. HOW MANY DAYS IS IT????
    LOL Paula

LOL girl relax! You dont have to do a thing you dont want to do. You can lay on the beach, browse the shops, go siteseeing, sit by the pool on board the ship, sit in a bar and get drunk, its your vacation, you do anything you want or dont do what you dont want. I dont do shore excursions either. I just go ashore and play it by ear. Rather spend my money on other things.

Thank Goodness, I never have been one to plan a whole lot. I'm really bad I feel like if I plan something I won't want to do it when the time comes. I do better and so does hubby if we go with how we feel. That has good points and bad. We've been places and not be able to find a hotel because we didn't want to have to commit. LOL

Paula, if you two have never snorkeled in tropical waters, you have to try it! I resisted - OH, how I resisted. Hubby will tell you! Once I was talked into putting a mask on and looking under water, I couldn't stop. I'm hooked. I have my own gear, and LOVE snorkeling. It's so beautiful - the coral, the fish, turtles, etc...LOVE IT!! My hubby scuba dives - I don't. Snorkeling is just right for me. In the salt water it's nearly effortless - you just bob along.

Oh snorkeling is a blast. If you do one of the shore excursions you can get from the cruise line then they provide all the equipment and instruction. If you have never done it you have to at least once. There is nothing like it. You will be in awe of what you can see.

It's a no brainer! It takes a little bit to get used to breathing through your mouth, but REALLY - If I can do it, anyone can!

I'd like to try snorkeling, too. I understand you don't have to be athletic or physically fit to do it. Put on a mask and look down!

I went on a cruise last year and was afraid I'd be timid about wearing a bathing suit in public, but there were people of all sizes and they let it all hang out. Heck, it's not like there s anyone from home to report back how lumpy I look! We can get a group together to try snorkeling and all look like newbies together. Look at it this way...snorkeling is not an Olympic event, so no one is gonna score us. Let's see....NAL gets a 9.8 and I'd get a 4.5 but who cares???? Besides, it is one of the cheaper choices for excursions. 8 months, 10 days away. Oh, goodie, goodie!!!

I always wear a big ole Tshirt over my suit when I snorkel - because you can sunburn your back badly. Ask me how I know this.
