Believe it or not but I dont drink often but look out. Get me on the ship and yall will think I have a problem..lol. Especially if Salih is on the ship then. He likes to challenge me on how strong a margarita I can drink. Gosh cant wait to dance the night away! We can exercise off all that booze!

They do have a gym and fitness classes on the ship. Every morning they have a walkathon thing around the jogging deck. I figure the stairs, dancing, walking around the ship, walking around port, and lifting my margarita to my lips is exercise enough!

Anyone ballroom dance?? I used to but have not in years. Gals we might have to borrow hubbies or dance together..lol. Just no stripping ok?? at least not on the dance floor!

OO OOO I just thought of something. Me and Sea are both Crown and Anchor members so we get invited to a private party. Guess we are just going to have a lot of guests with us..lol. Its free booze and appetizers! They have these really good little chicken wings and quiches and cheese sticks and egg roll thingys. Some nights I go to the lounge and have that for dinner and skip the major meal. I get so sick of food!

Ok lets see if I can finish this before the power goes out again!

I tend to overpack. Im finally getting it down so hopefully I dont haul too much stuff!

Day time, while at sea, shorts, tanks, t shirts, swimwear mostly. I usually take a couple of dresses that are casual for night or can wear in the day too between laying out and getting ready for dinner or just to relax in. In port, depends on if shopping or snorkleing. Just remember you are in the caribbean so it tends to be hot and sunny. I usually wear shorts and a tank or my bathing suit with shorts over it or a short casual skirt.

Evenings, 2 formal nights, dont need evening gowns. Cocktail dresses, nice skirt and top, dressy pants suits work. There is one dressy night, again nice skirt, top, dress, or pants suit work, 4 casual nights, I dress up more than most but that is the way I am. I just dont feel right going into a 5 star dinner dressed too casual. I have a couple of dresses, skirts, top and jacket, or such I wear. Sundresses, nice slacks, some wear jeans, shorts, etc those nights.

I always take one set of sweats or jeans and a warm top in case we hit a cool spell at sea. Not often but the one time I didnt take something I wished I had.

You will need comfortable shoes! You do a lot of walking on the ship and on shore so shoes are important. I always have my dressy heels for nights but make sure to take ones I can handle walking a lot in. The one thing I take lots of is shoes but then Im a shoe hound. Gotta have the right shoes with each outfit. During the day mostly sandles or my keds. If you are going to work out, be sure to bring the workout clothes!

Wear what you are comfortable in. I usually take one outfit per night and then 2 extra in case I change my mind..lol. I also take things that can mix and match or go from day to evening for casual nights or to toss on if I want to change after dinner to be more comfortable for a night of dancing. Wearing 3 1/2 inch heels and drinking on a ship can get a little dangerous.. lol.

A tux is not needed. You will see some men in them but mostly on the formal nights they wear a dark suit and tie and the casual nights a nice shirt and slacks such as a polo shirt and dockers. The dressy night a shirt with a sports jacket and slacks. I have seen some in dress shorts and nice shirts. During the day, same thing as women basically, shorts, swimwear, tshirts etc.

Paula - hubby drinks about once a year, so he's a really cheap date. I used to drink more than I should - now (the last 10+ years) I drink only occasionally. It just doesn't agree with me the way it used to.

I'm in trouble about the stingrays - oh well, he'll get over it. We'll just have to go back to Tahiti, that's all.

I don't drink much either, I really pretty much quit drinking when I quit smoking. I've always drank Margarita's or Coors light but it got to where I couldn't handle it. I really don't like the after effects.... My husband just never has been a drinker. We've been together forever and I was always the party animal and he drove me home...but my tolerance level changed. I've don't know what swimming with the rays is...is that a shark or what Nal Can't wait to cruise... Paula

Clara/Paula - Stingrays are wonderful, gentle, inquisitive creatures. We met several when we were in Tahiti, and fell in love with them. I heard a cruise advertisement talking about swimming with rays, and a man described them as "giant portobello mushrooms." They are like that, only softer. The only way you get stung is if you step on the base of their tail.

    Red face

    Yikes!
I just figured out the REAL reason why I am NOT the cruise ship kind of gal.

    DRESSES????
    HIGH HEELS????

OMG...I would be such a total slob...ya'll would have to hide me in the closed! LoL!

Now I know why I always do beach vacations (Florida,Cancun,Cozumel,Belize,CaboSanLucas) because....my idea of dressing up would be....putting on a bra!!
When I am on vacation I LIVE in a bathing suit and thongs (not the kind that goes up your butt...the kind you wear on your feet...flip/flops)
Again...my idea of dressing up for the evening would be......nice shorts and a nice tank top!
If I wanted to REALLY dress up....I might put shoes on. LoL!

I am the original California Beach Bum.
I have a job that I can wear sweats in the winter and shorts and sandles in the summer.
    I am soooooooo spoiled.
Hell.....if I had a good body....I would just go naked!

    (hush John!!!)

    Hugs to all,
    Moony

We can dress like that at work too but I dont. I wear slacks, skirts etc anyway. Just feel better if I dress nice. Its a mental thing..lol.

In case anyone is interested they do have casual dining for anyone that does not want to dress up. I forget about it cause I usually eat in the dining room. I like 5 star dining. The other is more of a buffet style. For the main dining they do post the menu daily outside the dining room so you can decide if you want to go there or just do the casual thing. Also anything on the menu is available for room service at no additional charge so if you want the meal and just want a private dinner for two you can order in!

    Nitra,

Does this ship have a topless sun deck on top? Guess who wants to know? Yep. You're right. Hubby. If it does, you probably will only see him after dark!

    XXXOOO,
    Lane

We're not much for dressing up, either. In the Northwest dress up means a new polarfleece vest and your newest cleanest Birkenstocks.
This will be a real stretch for us, fashionwise. Hubby has a "Wallace and Grommit" tie - will that do?
