    Cool Medifast - Anyone Tried?

I'm thinking of taking a phentermine break and was going to give Medifast a shot since it sounds so great and all (don't most diets sound that way?). Just wondering if anyone has tried it, with success or not, and why you feel like it worked or didn't work. Thanks! :)

The plan I am on is essentially the same as Medifast. The clinic I go to sells the shakes, etc. with their name stamped on them, but a little investigation of the ingredients on the packages revealed that I could buy nearly the exact same thing elsewhere! There are a few different companies that make these kinds of shakes/puddings, beverages, soups, etc. that fit the same nutritional profile - they are high protein, low fat, low calorie. I found out that they are also the same high protein formulas that gastric bypass patients use, so many of them mention "bariatric" in the name...

You are supposed to only do this type of (very low cal) diet plan under doctor supervision - I just feel I should say that because you'll see that statement anywhere you buy these products. One place that I have ordered from is called D i e t D i r e c t. You should be able to find that easily enough with a quick search. They sell a huge variety of these products and I'm not kidding when I say that so far I have found them to be extremely tasty.

I have lost just over 30 pounds in 6 weeks, so it definitely works.

    Thumbs up Worked for me

I used Medifast in late 2007 and lost 35 pounds in 3 months. It is pretty expensive and you have to be extremely disciplined to use it. You buy their food for breakfast, lunch, and snacks, and then have a small dinner of your own but it's limited. The diet is terrific -- please don't get me wrong. I just can't stress enough that unless you have a bunch of $$$ to throw around, make sure you are ready and willing to take in less than 900 calories a day eating food that you probably won't like a whole lot. Most of it is bearable. I wouldn't call anything yummy.

By the way, I kept all the weight off. Don't know how, but I did. Good luck.
