i didn't know that adderall was initially prescribed as a diet med. anyone lose weight on thi?

HI,ARE YOU TAKING ADDERALL FOR A WEIGHTLOSS MED??IF SO,HOW ARE YOU DOING ON IT??I HAVE HEARD IT IS PRESCRIBED AS A DIET MED.BUT HAVE NOT HEARD OF ANY RESULTS FROM IT.MY TEENAGE SON IS ON IT FOR ADHD HE NEVER WANTS TO EAT AND NEVER GAINS WEIGHT I HAVE TO TAKE HIM OFF OF IT IN THE OFF TIME BREAKS OF SCHOOL. FOR A BREAK SO IS WEIGHT CAN PLAY CATCH UP.LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND.

You can lose weight on it but it is addictive. My friend ended up in rehab over it. It is hard to get a doctor to give it to you because it is a controlled substance. It is usually given for ADHD I have not known it to be given for weight loss....but that is a side effect of it

i took adderall for years and lost alot of weight. at my lowest point i weighed 105.
i also took dexadrine and lost weight on it too.
i never wanted to eat anything and the thought of food made me sick. i was always in a bad mood and when i would come down off of it i would have horrible headaches. dexadrine and adderall were initially for weight loss. i was on these meds from 5th grade to 12th and never foun it to be addictive.i have been out of school for 3 years now and stopped taking them, i have gained 90 pounds since then. so i know they work very well, if you dont mind the side-effects

its been so long since i have taken it that i have almost forgotten. but it doesn't feel that different from phen, just a little stronger!
