hey guys
do you guys remember the dream post?
well since i was 15 which was when my grandma passed
i started having episodes where i would lay down and suddenly fall into rem sleep
which is not normal for an adult
then i become paralized and i can see an hear everything around me but i cant speak or move
then i have hallucinations of someone attacking me and there is nothing i can do
it is very frightneing for me
i fight to wake up
and when i do i am dizzy and sometimes i moan like a baby or wake up crying
then when i get up i fall from muscle weakness
i stay lethargic for about a day or two
i work with a neurologist and i got the guts to tell her about it because everyone thought i was crazy
but two days ago i had another episode i have not had one in 3 months
the dr told me i had cataplexy narcolepsy
i was crying about it
i often wondered why i fell asleep everytime someone else was driving
and one time on the treadmill and cycle machine
it causes sleep paralysis,hypnogognic hallucinations
cataplecy is a form of rem and atonia unique to narcolepsy it is a striking, sudden episode of muscle weakness triggeed by emotions
the head may drop or jaw may become slacked
in severe cases the person may fall down and become completely paralyzed for several minutes
reflexes are abolished during an attack
narcolepsy is often undiagnosed after 12-14 yrs of struggle
it caused problems for your personal and professional life
i can not believe this chit
it has been 12 yrs and i never knew
my doc said it can be triggered by lack of rest, stress, alcohol, cigs, caffeine
all i need is another problem
my family was not really concerned beause they think i am a hypercondriac they did not believe me when i got asthma until they saw me have an attack
i guess with the stress at work, men, my aunts wedding and the decrease in my pay at work triggered it thats what the doc told me
i never know when i am going to have one
sorry so long i am just tired of being tired
love you guys
