Hi,

I've taken phentermine on and off for the past few years. I've always had success on it - as long as I take a break for a few months (of course I always gain some of the weight back w/o phen).

Anyway, has anyone had any experience with Lexapro and Phen? Lexapro is the newer, cleaner, version of Celexa. It supposedly is weight-neutral. I am currently taking phentermine and my doc has written me a prescription for Lexapro. I don't plan on asking her about combining the two because she is one of those doctors who is extremely judgemental about any kind of weightloss medication. Dang!

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Hello! I am taking phentermine 35.7mg and Lexapro 20 mg. and have been doing so since November. My physician told me that this combination was similar to taking Meridia which is an appetite suppresant and a seritonin reuptake. i have had no problems with this combination AT ALL. the only thing i could recommend would be to take Lexapro an hour before or after taking diet pill since most diet pills are supposed to be taken on an empty stomach. also, i take my lexapro early in the morning since taking it later has contributed to my problems with insomnia in the past. good luck! side note: if you are taking lexapro, do not ever take Meridia while you are on lexapro - could cause big problems.

I also take Phen & lexapro. I was taking paxil & it caused a lot of weight gain. I have not seen any problems in taking the 2 together, and have been doing it for almost 3 months now.

I am sooo happy to read this. I havent taken any ad for over two months now but was worried about whether or not the phen would kick me back into depression. Anyhoo, I still have wellbutrin, lexapro and vivactil (which is tricyclic) in the cupboard. I gained 25+ lbs on ad's and my doc wouldn't do anything to help me lose it. I ordered phen off of the internet. He said that I wasnt large enough but it seems that the ad's slowed my metabolism down cause i couldn't lose 1/2lb if my life depended on it.
