Well, let me tell you, and from very good experience. I've been taking wellbutrin with phen for about 2 months now. It is perfectly ok. I tried everything to quit smoking, patch, hypnosis, gum, you name it. Wellbutrin (zyban) is the best thing that worked. It will work for you, I can guarantee it. The thing about wellbutring is that it goes directly to the source of the craving which is in your brain. It represses the receptors that crave nicotine. Another thing, it is the only one that you can continue to smoke on, because it is not a nicotine replacement, such as the gum, etc. You set a goal of 14 days, keep smoking while taking your pill, and you will see that after about 5 or six days, you will be going without cigarettes for longer periods of time and not only that, but the cigarette will taste so much different, (it tasted like soap to me) that you will turn it off. It will no longer bring you the pleasure it used to. My doctor prescribed it to me, she gave me 5 months worth (just in case I needed to take it longer). Frankly, I only smoke 1 or 2 a day, I could stop if I wanted to, but I really do it now because of stupid habit, not because I need it like I used to. Now for phen and wellbutrin, I think that the combination is what helped me lose the weight that I lost. Wellbutrin also supresses your appetite (at least it did me). They are perfectly ok to take together. I take 37.5mg of phen and I don't remember what mg of wellbutrin, but I take it twice a day. I heard that if you use nicorette gum to compensate for the cravings while on wellbutrin, it has a great success rate also. I don't do it, because it is just replacing one source of nicotine (cig) for another. This would be, I suppose, if you don't want the smell of cigs on you, for your teeth, etc. Hope this helps.
