Question
My doctor has had me on Xenical for over a month combined with Prozac (20 mg.) daily and Xanax for nerves. I have only lost 3 lbs. with the Xenical and wanted to try something to help stop the food cravings. I just began my phen -program today.

I'm curious if anyone else is taking Prozac and Phentermine together? Any strange reactions?

How much weight can I except to lose per month on the Phen? PLEASE REPLY..

Hi,

I take Phen and Celexa together. Celexa is similar to Prozac. I was a bit leary about combining them, so I started out with 1/4 of the 37.5 pill a day for a few days to see how I did. I gradually have worked my way up to a whole pill now with no adverse affects. Just the normal effects listed which have pretty much gone away except for the dry mouth.

The weight loss varies for every individual. There really is no way to measure how much you will lose.

I have been on Phen for 2 weeks, and I have lost a total of 10.5 lbs and 5 inches total. The first week was 7.5 lbs. and week two was 3 lbs. My doc has me on a strict 1200 calorie a day diet. I find it hard to even eat 1200 on the phen, but i force it down. I went to a weight loss clinic so my Doc prescribed Phentermine 30 mg in the a.m. and then Phendimetrazine 35 mg at 4:00 p.m. (this pill is for the late night cravings, and boy I feel like I am on turbo boost until midnight, I was up unitl 1:00 studying for a test last night)

At any rate, keep in mind that Phen is not to be used as a quick solution for a long term problem. It should be used as a tool to aid you in your weight loss. Exercise and a proper diet are the key to long term success.

I'm hear for you if you have any questions or need support.

I was taking Phen and Sarafem(fluoxtine sp?) which is the same thing as Prozac. I started with 1/2 a 37.5 pill and after the effects wore off I went to 1 pill. Now my Dr. has also added Wellbutrin. There is no harm in this as he explains because it effects dopomine, prozac effects serotonin. This is actually working great. on the phen-pro I lost alot my first week and then it gradually slowed down. I have been on since July 9th and have gone from 171 down to 156 and that is because I was off last week while on vacation, but the week before I was down to 154. But everyone varies depending on diet, water intake, exercise, and how much you weigh to start with. The more you weigh the faster you will loose at first. The only side effects I have noticed were all described with Phen alone. Basically you feel like you are taking speed. Heart races, can't sleep, dry mouth and lots of sweating. Within a short time those symptoms will go away, but I kinda like it because I know then that it is still doing it's job. :)
Anyway, the Phen-Pro combination supposedly prolongs the effectivness of the Phen. Good luck. Let us know how you do.
