Hi Brandy,
I take spironolactone, and my phen prescription is from a doctor who knows what meds I'm currently on. She wouldn't have prescribed it if there would have been a problem (I originally wanted to take meridia, but it conflicts with my antidepressant, so I know my doctor is paying attention!) Eileen |

I wondered about POCS. I not only gained weight I ended up with Acne, and Hair in places that as a woman you just dont want, of course the Dr that I was seeing at the time wouldnt entertain that, he said it was poor nutrition...blah blah blah.

The spironolactone works great for acne, and keeps the hair on my head from falling out (and new chin hairs from sprouting!). I've been on it for years. I stopped taking it for awhile last year just to see what would happen...lost a ton of hair and my beautiful clear skin got all oily and pimply!
I hope you're seeing a better doctor. There's a subject on PCOS under one of the other forums - you might want to check it out! |
