Well, I can't believe there are no topics on the illneses that being over weight causes, such as High blood presure, Diabets, and several more. I have a condition called, N.A.S.H None Alcoholic Steatohepatitis. which mine is caused by being over weight. I had a Liver biopsy last year and, the Doctor said to loose weight but, that is easier said then done. and I did not loose any weight last year, and went back for a follow up in Oct 02 , He said that I could take phen to help get me started on loosing weight, started on Phen Nov 2,02 (weight 169)
Now Dec 9, (weight154) I go next month for another follow up, and might have to get another liver biopsy, to see if the condition has got worse, hope to get a good report next month.want to here from you all, and to here how loosing weight has helped your health .

A couple months ago my doctor told me that my liver levels were elevated. At first she'd thought they were just a bit high because my thyroid levels were still a bit low. But after increasing my medication, the levels still went higher. She pretty much told me that it was fatty liver and had to ask me a few times if I drank at all before she accepted my answer. She told me she wanted me to cut out most of the fat in my diet (no cheese!) and she wanted to order an ultrasound. I convinced her to give me 3 months and see if a change in diet would help, and then I would come back and get the ultrasound and my levels checked. Thing is, this didn't happen til after I started losing weight. I did some research on the net and quite a few sites said it could be caused by rapid weight loss. So that calmed me down a bit, 'cause it had me a bit nervous. She was talking about doing a biopsy... eeek! But I'm going to keep a close eye on things and let my new doc know what's going on. Not exactly what you're dealing with, but similar.

Hi i am on medication for high blood pressure now and it is controlled it also runs in my family. With that I am scared to take the phen but I want to try it out. I wanted a dr to tell me that it would be ok to take them before I start. I also have high cholestrol which is one of the main reasons I am starting a diet AGAIN of course, but this time I am more serious because of the cholestrol level it scared me. I am now trying to find a Dr that will prescribe the phen pills for me because they are way to much money on the website. My friend says she gets her's at Sam's club pharmacy for only $15 for 30 day supply so I would rather go to a clinic and get a **.

This is a good topic because no one yet has said anything about any medical conditions that they have while taking this med.
