    Default New to Phen. Only 3 days on it

    Hello, my name is Rebecca. I am new to Phen. and I've only been taking it 3 days so far. I actually lost 6 lbs last week just by not eating any processed foods at all, that includes ranch dressing, butter, milk, certain cereals, etc. However, I am going to change that a little and eat some processed foods such as milk and cereal. I didn't start Phen until Sunday so this is my third day taking it. Considering that I am going to keep up my healthy eating lifestyle I hope to lose the pregnancy weight I gained.

    3.5 years ago I was only 160lbs then I moved into a sedentary job where I had to sit on a computer all day. The pounds started creeping up until I was 200lbs. Then after I had my daughter I was at 235lbs. The heaviest I've ever been.

    I ate healthy, but was still eating some processed foods, and exercised for 9 weeks without losing ANY weight at all. So I went to my doctor and he ran tests. Everything is fine, but he decided to prescribe Phen.

    I realize that by cutting out processed foods and eating a ton of fruits, veggies, meat and water (I like to add lots of fresh lemon to make it lemonade) then that's what I needed to do to lose weight. So I am hoping by continuing to eat food from the earth and what God made it will help me to lose more weight while taking Phen. I do have a problem where I a seemed to be hungry all the time, but I noticed Phen has helped curb that some.

    Do any of you have a problem where the Phen seems to wear off rather quickly? I take it at 4am in the morning and then go to the gym before work, but around 9-10am in the morning it seems to be worn off. I'm tired and I notice I begin to get a little more hungry. Then by the time I get home from work I am just exhausted. I am on the lowest dosage, so that could be part of the problem or my body is just trying to get used to it...I don't know.

    Hello, I am new as well. Started taking my pill on Saturday. Was a little rough for me at first. Felt very nauseous. It is better now, but I found that I can't take it early in the morning. Besides the feeling sick, I found that it was worn off by the end of the day. So now, I take it around 10. (I also like to have my coffee first thing, so didn't think I should combine them.)

    Hi Sammie, I think it's a good idea not to combine the two, but then again I don't know what the side effects would be. I wonder why you are nauseous? I have not been that way at all. I noticed the first day that I was very "talky", but I don't seem to feel that way anymore on day 3. I guess it's good that it wears off by the end of the day so you can get some sleep. I have read some of the other posts where people are up all night, because they couldn't sleep on Phen.

    I would love to hear how it works for you in the next couple of weeks. Let me know!

    Thanks for replying Rebecca.

    I'm not sure why I felt so sick either. Yesterday was a lot better, so maybe I just couldn't handle it on an empty stomach. I was real chatty too the first day. My sister was laughing at me while we were on the phone. I was talking and pacing constantly. That too was better by yesterday.

    I look forward comparing our experiences with this.

    Yeah, and on the bottle it says to take the pill with an empty stomach or take it two hours after you eat breakfast. I wonder why they have it that way? I've taken it on an empty stomach and been fine.

    You may be getting the sick feeling because you are not drinking enough water. Everyone on the boards drinks half their weight in oz in water a day. The more water you drink the less you fell the side effects. You are also not suppose to have caffine on it.

    I didn't have any coffee Saturday or Sunday since I felt so sick. Yesterday I had half the coffee (and I drink half calf) from what I used to drink. I had it early then took my pill later. I did have a small breakfast early as well, increased my water and I have to say, I did feel less nauseous. I still had a bad headache, but it could be from not having my coffee. I used to drink almost a full pot a day of the half calf. I'm hoping to gradually give up the coffee all together.

    I gave up all sodas and coffee about 6 weeks ago. I cut it all down from everyday to once a week and then gradually just cut it all out. I really love water with lemon or the crystal light packets in water and it makes me not want sodas or coffee. Also, I started drinking hot green tea (which I used to hate) and I've started to really love the taste of it! I notice since I've given up most sugar I have really not "craved" as much of the bad stuff as I did previously. It's only been recent though.

    Before, I could easily eat like half a sheet of brownies, because I was addicted to sugar. I think the beginning of my tastebuds being changed into actually "wanting" healthy food was when I cut out the sodas and coffee. Don't get me wrong I still like brownies and other things, but now I can keep it in moderation, whereas before I couldn't. I just craved it.

    Hi ladies, congrats to both you ya'll(yes I'm from Texas and we say ya'll) decisions for a healthier life. I agree with Bonniejo, drink more water. I had the nausea all last week, started drinking even more water and it went away.

    As for caffiene and phen, I read on one of the threads here that caffiene works against phen in that it helps your body build up a tolerance to phen more quickly. (I hope that makes sense.) Simple put the more caffiene you get the less phen will work. So even though I love love lover starbucks it can wait a few months til i'm done.

    HI ladys27. Thank you for your tips and support. I am from Texas too, what area are you from? I'm in the DFW area.

    The idea about caffeine really makes sense to me. Obviously, if you are taking additional stimulants it will make your body get used to the stimulants and they won't be as effective.

    I'm from Houston, but I have family and friends in DFW. I never thought about that caffiene thing logically... huh go figure, but it does make sense.

    Anyway I'm just trying to drink as much water as I possibly can. Funny thing last week when I thought I had my water under control...I realized my cup was smaller than I thought so I was coming up around 50 oz short. but I think I got it now. .

    I never thought of the caffeine that way. Thanks for all the advice. I will try to cut it out. It will be worth the headaches as I so want to lose this added weight. I can't stand looking in the mirror or especially looking at photos. Also, I am a flight attendant and am so self conscious of being over weight.

    Today, my daughter got her braces off and I had promised her on this day I would take her out to lunch. She desperately wanted to eat corn on the cob! Any way, I couldn't even finish half of a sandwich. I was amazed!

    Hi and Welcome Rebecca and Sammie! Congrats on your weight loss!!

    Rebecca - in reference to you feeling hungry later in the day.... it could be from taking the phen so early in the am. I have problems with hunger later in the day and a horrible sweet tooth at night. So for me, I have breakfast in the am and wait to take my pill until about 11 or 12 - then wait 2 hrs for lunch. This helps me control my appetite later at night. Some people like to take 1/2 a pill in the am and the other 1/2 later in the afternoon to help with hunger later in the day (taking 1/2 and 1/2 helps those that have problems sleeping at night -one of the side effects of phen). You may need to try different ways/times to find what works best for you

    Sammie - Congrats on trying to ween yourself off of coffee I know it is a hard habit to break! Sometimes I smell coffee in the morning and it just smells sooo good, but I have to make myself resist. I do have a cup of green tea in the morning w/ a wedge of lemon as my coffee replacement (I asked my doc first and he approved).

    How did you figure out your cup was to small? 50oz short is quite a bit.

    I had headaches for a good two weeks when I first cut down to 1 a week, but not anymore.

    To eat less and stay with it after getting off of Phen. I decided to start measuring out what I eat into proper proportions so I know what a proper portion is and I can stick with it. Like, my cereal if it says 1/2 a cup per serving then that's exactly what I put for my portion. It's helped a lot the last 3 days to see what a serving size is supposed to be since I've never been able to eat a proper portion. I tend to overindulge, but hopefully this will help.

    Hi, Shoefiend. Thank you for answering our questions. I am taking the generic capsule so it would be very difficult to split it since the inside is loose and measuring it would probably not be easy. Then again I haven't done this so I don't know if it would be difficult. I also don't want to take it too late because I don't want to stay up too late and since I have to wake up at 4am I definitely do not want that to happen. I appreciate the advice. I will see if the pill is easy to split. I have to be at work by 7am so I have to have enough time to work out and take a shower and get ready for work at the gym so that's why I wake up so early. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks again.

    Well I was using a 24 oz bottle that I thought was 32 oz. 1 cup doesn't seem like a lot, but I figured I could refill it 5 times and have 160 oz of water, which works using a 32oz bottle. Using a 24oz bottle filled 5times only adds up to 120 oz. so I was 40oz short (I rounded earlier).

    On one of the forums there is a suggestion to getting a bottle that's big enough to hold all of your water for the day, and drink from that. That works on the weekends, during the week...I got a larger water bottle for work, and try to refill it on each break.

    Sorry Rebecca.... didnt realize that you have the capsules. That would be very difficult to split Another thing you can try is increasing your protein.. For example I make sure to have at least a small amount of lean protein with every meal. I also keep raw almonds and light string cheese on hand if I need a quick snack in between meals. I hope this helps

    Shoefiend, I think that eating extra protein might help some too. As meat tends to fill me up more quickly. I did take the pill at 5am yesterday instead of 4am. I might just take it after my workout in the mornings, but I want to take it before since it gives me a little boost of energy in the morning. But, I did notice it lasted a bit longer yesterday when I took it at 5am I wasn't so exhausted by the time I went home. So I might just end up having to do that instead. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it!


    Ladys27, I can see where the mixup was. I use one of those bottles that holds 64oz at a time. I drink one at work and one at home. But, that's all the water I drink in the day. I eat a great variety of fruits and vegetables which is where most of my other water intake comes from.

    Thank you for the support. And I want to encourage you guys to keep going strong even through the holiday season. I am very proud of you guys!!!

    I am also a newbie. I have been on Phen since August and have lost 24 lbs. I take mine at 11:00 and it lasts me all day and have to force myself to eat lunch and dinner. But I eat enough to say that I ate. Water is a problem...I have to force myself to drink it as well. I do


    use Crystal Light and it seems to help.

    Hope everyone is doing well. Just back in town after visiting family for the holiday. Need to really start focusing on my water intake and coffee decrease. Trying to decrease gradually to help with the headaches. Only down 1 1/2 lbs, a little disappointed but will keep working at it.

    Well, I found out I had gained 2lbs back from the Thanksgiving Holiday when I weighed on Sunday. However, this morning I was back down to 228. So, I guess that's a good thing. I wish I could see the weight loss others on here are seeing with Phen. I am eating 1200-1400 calories a day, drinking my water, and exercising. Hopefully, I will see it start to come off a little more quickly here soon.

    I hope everyone is having a blessed week and sticking to their goals. I'm very proud of all of you. Keep up the good work!!!

    Started Phen again, just finishing up last bottle:

    Goal by May 31st = 165, kind of a big jump, but we will see....
