Default Any doctor in Ashburn, VA who would prescribe phen?

Hi Im new to this forum and over all this whole phen idea. I gained a lot of weight during my 2 pregnancies and I ve become all flabby and my movements have slowed down. I find it difficult even going up and down the stairs. Plz tell me a doctor who ll prescribe phen to me in Ashburn, Sterling, Reston, Leesburg area in Virginia. Im on my husband's insurance and he is dead against diet pills. So I can't have a doctor who ll refuse to prescribe them coz that wud be the end to my beginning. Plz let me know. thanks .

Oh this is so disappointing .. i really want to get started on this. And reading everyone's success stories out here is making me all the more impatient. Im perfectly fit otherwise so I can buy the pills online but Im currently taking the Kerastase Densitive pills for hair loss and thats why i wanted to consult a doctor. Anyone else taking these pills along with phen?

The one I go to is in MD. I guess if you wanted to drive you could go there. But mapquest says city to city is an hour.

I would suggest googling weight loss doctors in your area, give them a call and ask if they prescribe phentermine and if they will accept your insurance.

Whatever you do, don't order them off the internet b/c it's illegal and 99.9% are fake and don't work.

I don't know how close you are to Baltimore MD, but Dr. Michael Anchors sees out of town patients and he will give you a script for up to 3 or 6 mos. I don't go there but I read about it on his internet site.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks for the replies.. maybe i ll try the weight loss clinics around. Are bariatric doctors and weight loss clinics the same? Baltimore is around 1 1/2 hrs but if I get a one time prescription it shudn't hurt to drive up there. Im not going to take phen for more than 3 mnths.. kinda scared of diet pills too but right now I need a jump start. Chrystal83 can u tell me the name of your doc and which city in MD are u talking about? Does he give a 3mnth prescription at one go?

Some bariatric doctors only do lap band/gastric bypass, while others focus on appetite suppression meds. So in answer to your question, not all bariatric practices are the same as weight loss clinics.

Here is Dr. Anchors address and phone # in case you want to contact him:
Michael Anchors, MD, PhD 16220 Frederick Rd Ste 210. Gaithersburg, MD 20877 (301) 990-6061

I forgot to mention that according to his website that he claims to charge far less than most weight loss centers but I don't know how much, I reccommend giving him a call to see.

If I didn't live so far from him I would see him because he apparently is top-notch, and has done boatloads of research on phentermine and it's effects on weight loss.

Thanks.. one more question.. does your insurance cover these doctor visits? I don't think my blue cross blue shield does.. I tried looking up through their doctor finder but can't find any too.. If it doesn't how much approx does it cost u? pills + doctor fees?

Our new insurance doesn't kick in for another month, but I do think my doctor accepts insurance for at least the initial and any follow up lab work.

I pay out the nose because at least here in So. FL I could not find any regular doctor willing to prescribe phentermine. I searched for 3 months and finally decided to go to a weight loss center. I pay approx. $150 mo. for my office visits, weekly b-12 shots and 37.5 mg phentermine which is dispensed at the doctor's office.

I know some people on this forum pay much less than this at weight loss centers and I guess it all depends on which area of the country you live in....everything in S. FL is expensive! I just moved here 6 mo. ago and so far all I can say about it is that it's a great place to visit but......

With it being so expensive for me I am motivated more than ever to be as successful as I can with it since I can't afford to not work really hard at it. I will probably do it for 3 months and take a month off, and if necessary go back on until I reach my goal of 132.

I have to take into consideration that I am saving money each week since I am buying healthy food in lower quantities, eating out less often, and not buying soda or junk food. My health is worth it and fortunately my husband totally supports me in this.
