Starting Over Florida

I have recently hit the big 50 and don't want to be a plus size girl anymore. I have tried phentermine before and had some success. The problem I have is ...........the cost. The weight clinic charges 70.00 a week for seven pills. I have located another place and they charge 325.00 a month. I am wondering if anyone is finding the cost too much? My insurance will not cover it. HELP

I went to my primary care physician for a yearly check up and she drew blood and all that good stuff. I asked her at that time if I cold do something to lose the weight and she wrote me a ** for 1 month. All I have to do is go back once a month and get weighed and she will write another ** for me. The weigh in's are not scheduled I just go and I don't get charged for it. The only thing I have to pay for is the ** because insurance will not cover it but it only costs $30 a month so I can handle that. I would see if your regular doc could help you instead of the clinic. I think alot of clinics make you go weekly just to make money off of you. Monthly should be sufficient to check in and get weighed. Good Luck to you!

Thanks for the information. My primary doctor doesn't approve of using diet pills. So I am hoping there is someone who knows of another option. I really need to do this, but money is an issue. I am in the New Port Richey Tampa Bay area of Florida. Does anyone have any information that will help this 50plus girl?

Look for a weight loss center/longevity center...maybe cheaper ????

I live in Jax and my primary care takes care of me....15 copay and then I buy my ** at walgreens......let me know where you live.

oops forgot to mention my freind in southern florida uses the Metobolic (sp?) weight loss center,..don't know the cost............but you can call! I hope you find someplace, that place you go is ripping you off!!

I forgot to mention I would be willing to drive......if the distant is reasonable. The cost is a rip off. I have read how others primary doctor has prescribed the meds. I just need to find one.

yeah that is a big rip off! I go to my primary care phacician and with my free drug card I pay 26$ at rite aid. You can go to freedrugcard.us and get a discount card for prescriptions if you have someone write one for you. I was paying 42$ and now only pay 26$ hope this helps
