Thumbs up Hello from Oklahoma
Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Carol and have lived in Oklahoma for 15 years now, originally from Arkansas. I am a Nurse, only work one day a week now due to the fact that I was diagosed with Multiple Sclerosis 13 years ago, actually, I do rather well fighting that dreaded "MS" word

Awww...but the fatigue can really get to you and makes it almost impossible to exercise, I just want to lay in bed under my air-conditioner. The Doc I work part-time suggest Phentermine and that scared me so much, I had gained about 30 pounds an when you have MS and have to really watch how you walk anyway, that pounds makes a big difference.

So, here I am...I have read some of y'alls storis and I am so proud of you and I am excited. I'll be 50 next month and I just want to show my Granddaughters that their Granny can still wear jeans,,,,haha

Carol

Default Hello from Oklahoma
I am still trying to learn how to use this forum I live in a real small town, Carney, Kinda like MayberryRFD, and everyone's related to my hubby. It's 25 miles south of Stillwater.

i do get to drive to Arkansas Friday to see my Granddaughters and kids, but we are going to have so much rain. I'm just hoping I can stay on this diet!! They always want "Granny" to take them out to eat.

Have a safe wet week Carol

My problem is my BF and I take turns cooking, I am eating less so he says "why do I bother to cook" I told him not to make me feel guilty for not cleaning my plate. If you take your grandkids out to eat just get small portions or an appetiser

~~Waves to all of the other OKlahoma Phensters. ~~

Hi all & Welcome, nurseo. Grove, here. Just moved from SW Florida to Oklahoma back in May, but my husband used to live here about 17 or so years ago.

I also am new to the forums & started Phen the first week of August. This is a wonderful site & the folks here are so helpful, insightful, friendly, & supportive. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.

Got ya beat on the age thing though... I'll be 56 come November. Don't feel it but the body sure does. I've always had trouble loosing weight & with my hysterectomy 3 years ago & being a couch potato, the pounds just started adding up. I'm been telling myself for a long time to do something about it but never did. I got to the point though that I was finding myself having trouble walking or going up stairs or even getting up off the floor, etc. so I said "Enough!, I'm too young for this s***" (pardon the french).

I talked to my doctor & he put me on Phen. I've heard he's lost tons of weight too, so understands. My problem is not the Phen, it's working exactly like it should, but I just still don't seem to be loosing weight like I thought I would. As usual, it took me a month just to loose 10 lbs & in the last week, the scale jumps UP 3 lbs! To my knowledge, I've not done anything to warrant that.. Needless to say, I'm aggravated a bit by it. But, I'll keep plugging at it & see what happens. At least I can say I'm stronger now & can actually move around quite easily. I hate exercising but gotta say, it's been my lifesaver & I look forward to feeling even better & stronger as I go.

Well, I seem to have gotten chatty & just meant to say Hi & welcome, so...

Hi & Welcome!

Oh... & Rose... I can relate. My husband does ALL the cooking, so it's been a challenge & aggravation to him to learn to cook lighter. He's a fabulous cook but he's used to cooking BIG meals, with lots of sauces & gravies, which equates to lots of fats, flours, butter. So you can imagine how he fusses when I go in there & watch over him like a hawk & make him use 1 tbs. butter instead of a stick, or Pam instead of 1/4 cup oil. or a dusting of flour instead of dredging stuff in it. He's always spoiled me, even to the point of making up my plate. He still does, but... I'm there & showing & teaching him about portion control. THAT's the hardest part for him, I think. He fusses everytime. LOL. Oh well...

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight because by then, your body and your fat are really good friends.

My BF is italian, wonderful cook and took over the cooking when I broke my leg. I am now able to walk again and have started preparing meals. Now I look at food and feel a little ill and have to force myself to eat dinner, today I could zip up a pair of jeans without ****ing my belly in. That was my mini goal.
