Default Need Advice!
Hi from Illinois. I've been on Phen for 2 1/2 weeks and have only lost 2 lbs. I think it was only water weight. Does anyone know why? I am getting frustrated, because everyone seems to be losing more. Is everyone following the diet and excercising? Need advice.

Oh no, you are doing what I was doing. Reading all the posts of people losing like 10 lb in 1 week. And getting all sad and disapointed when it doesn't happen to you. Sure, there are a few out there that lose faster than others, but there are many people like you too. I lost 1 lb my first week, and then it seems like that 1 lb was my way to go. I have lost 4 lb this month, and I am going to the Dr tomorrow for my first weight in. It is okay to lose slow babe, everyone is different.

Now I know that I can lose more if I work out. I have been a couch potato for a very long time, so it was hard for me to get up and move. But this week I did it, and I feel wondeful. I am even happier. So I hope that I will remember this feeling and keep doing it. And then I hope that my 1 lb will move and be 2 lb per week!

Do not be discuraged, you will lose this weight. Just wait and see!!!

Can you give us an idea of your typical day of eating, including the times? And also your exercise routine and water intake?
~2/13/08-7/24/08- Lost 17 lbs on my own
~7/25/08- Started Phen and lipo shots -196 lbs
~8/1/08- 189.1 lbs
~8/7/08- 187.5 lbs
~8/15/08- 184.5 lbs
~8/21/08- 179.3 lbs (16.7 first month)
~8/28/08- 176 lbs
~9/13/08- 173.2 lbs
~12/4/08- 173 lbs... doomed to always be 173

You're doing what every 'new' person on here does...comparing yourself to everyone else. You are NOT like everyone else...you are your own person and will lose weight at your body's pace. I've been taking phen off/on since 2004. Lost weight fast..stopped taking phen..gained it back plus more...take it again...follow what I'm saying. The slower you lose it, the better chance you have of keeping it off once you stop taking phen. This time around I'm thrilled when I lose 1 pound a month cause it's 1 pound closer to my goal. Welcome and Good Luck!!

I did the same thing. Last week was my first week on the phen and I lost 10 lbs. Now on my second week I'm back up 4 lbs. I am getting very discouraged by the gaining. I keep reading where everybody is constantly losing and I can't do it. It seems like every day I am gaining back 1 lb. I would love some help too.

We can give suggestions if you let us know what your daily diet and exercise routine is... but everyone loses differently, everyone has a different program or plan/diet they follow... so if what you are doing isn't working, and you aren't losing weight or inches, sometimes you have to tweak things.. but you also have to have patience, sometimes the loss comes slow...

The last few weeks I haven't excercised. I am starting a weight lifting class (muscle madness). We will lift 3x a week and on off days do cardio 1 hr. I have been keeping track of my diet. I don't eat junk, soda, etc. On a side note, I was on zoloft for years then switched to lexapro. During my 5 months on lexapro I gained 25 lbs . My doctor said the meds did slow my metabolism down and it will take time to speed it up. I've been off of the meds for 6 months and still... no movement. I'm thinking about going to a dietitian.

Exercise will help... eating clean and removing the bad carbs helps too. For me, I went to an endicronologist that told me my metabolism was dead I then found out I had PCOS and insulin resistance and I just couldn't eat carbs... only leafy veggies and sometimes whole grains in very small amounts, same with fruit... once I started doing that, the weight started coming off finally... slow, but it was coming off. If you have a slugglish metabolism, you have to work harder... you need to fuel your body every few hours and exercise to get it moving again... things just happen a little slower. Good luck.
