Default Here's my story
Hello everyone!

I'm new to the following: Phentermine (06/17 not regularly though), this website and blogging in general (I know, I know, what year is this)?

So here's my story, I'll try and keep it short...

I've weighed 140 since sixth grade. I was always eating healthy and exercising to maintain it. When I was 24 I started taking paxil (6mos). I'd read a forum on paxil and people were saying they gained about 20 to 30lbs. on the stuff. I thought it wouldn't happen to me because I eat healthfully. It did...

So I weighed 170ish and got pregnant with our first baby and gained a crazy amount of weight (about a sixth grader). When I gave birth in 05' I weighed 240. I got back down to 190lbs and then I had baby #2 in 07'. I gave birth at 265lbs. I was convinced a lot of it was water weight and there was a thirty pound baby in my tummy! Who gains six pounds in a week? My baby is about to turn one (I'm still wearing maternity clothes, yikes!) in a few days and I'm down forty pounds at 200. This is where I'm stuck!

I started Phen on 06/20 and lost about ten pounds on it. I can't seem to drop below 200. If I do slimfast and eat a healthy dinner for a few days, my weight will drop a couple of pounds and then I think it realizes the deficit and braces for the famine!

Also do you guys take the pill everyday or every other day. How about breaking it in half? I've got the white pill with blue specks.

Thanks for reading

I took paxil too years ago and gained a significant amoutn of weight in a very short time! That stuff is horrible...gaining weight made me more depressed..........

I break my pills in half although I am going to start taking a whole pill starting tomorrow to get the last of the lbs off...

You say your body is bracing for the famine..but if you were to continue the slimfast and healthy dinner eventually you would lose more......don't buy into the starvation mode theory, it is overrated.

I agree, after gaining weight from the paxil, I think I got a case of the f**kit's. I know phen is a temporary tool, so I'm trying to figure out which diet is the best for me. Are you following any particular eating program? My sister did LA Weight Loss and lost 40lbs. I'm thinking of that one.

Hello and welcome. I can really relate to your story. I packed on quite a few pounds due to depression and having children--- a total of 4, but 3 were back to back. My baby turn 1 a couple of months ago and until recently I was still in maternity clothes too.

Keep doing what you are doing. Do not start to second guess yourself. I was the type to always eat healthy and workout too until the last baby came along. Now it's like I have lost who I am so I am looking to find myself along this journey.

I think Scat is right (I always do) . Your body will continue to lose just keep plugging along.

Having children kills our bodies doesn't it. It just isn't fair at all! I know the depression road all to well.....though never diagnosed with it, it runs in my family and I just deal with it w/out medication.

I think you just have to continue to kick butt in they gym and eat small, well-porportioned meals. I would recommend any diet that is high in fiber, lots of fruits and veggies. I just had a cousin lose about 70+ pounds on weight watchers and I have a lot of friends who have done it and kept it off. Lately, the "american habit" is fast food, potato chips, ice cream and other processed stuff. Start making habits while on phentermine. It takes 21 days I think they say or something like that to make habits stick. For me, even when I went off of phen, I still cook a lot of brown rice and drink lots of water. To this day, I can't drink a lot of soda, even the diet stuff....it grosses me out, because I'm so use to not drinking it while on phen.

Keep a log of your diet and exercise and go after it. there's no time like the present to show us women that when you have kids, you can still look and feel great and create time for yourself.

go get 'em!
