Thumbs down New and feeling discouraged
Hello all. I am 20 years old and was diagnosed with high blood pressure last year. I started dieting in February of this year and I weighed a whopping 280lbs. I was disgusted so I tried eating healther and lost down to 268 by April. Around that time I found out I was a diabetic which led to my really watching what I ate and excercising. I started Phentermine May 29 and went for my monthly check up on June 22 and had lost 14 lbs. By July 1 I had lost yet another 5lbs. I was so proud of myself. I have been walking 1-2 miles daily, and recently started riding a bicycle. I just feel that this second month is really killing me. I am trying and working extra hard and I can't tell that I am losing. I try not to weigh myself bu every couple of weeks so I dont get discouraged. I am 239 now, and would love to be down to 200 by the end of the year. I know this is a realistic goal, I am just struggling right now. Any suggestions on how to rev it up to the next level????

Hi,
You've done a very good job so far!! Sorry for your heath issues - this never help...
I personally think that you might do a big change in your habbits. I've read that in the Forums from other experienced phensters when you arrive to a plateu. Now you are increasing your activities but maybe you can do something regarding your diet. What do you usually eat?
Susanne.

Welcome! Don't get discouraged. It happens to all of us. Susanne is right, when you hit a plateau, try changing things up. Either increase your amount of daily caloric intake (crazy, I know) or change your exercise. Sometimes your body needs to be shocked back into losing mode. BronzyBella has started several threads that are very helpful. I will try to bump them for you. Good luck!

Make sure your eating enough. A lot of people including myself make the mistake of not eating enough theirfore slowing down your metabolism. Have you seen a dietitian? With your health issues it wouldn't be a bad idea.

You've done great so far to lose 41 lbs. That's awesome. Good luck on your journey.
Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.

I really focus on what I eat. Lots of protein (no red meat though!), low fat, sugar free, and I always always check my calorie content. I have no clue why Im slowing down... maybe I will pick back up. Does increasing your calorie intake really help?
