Exclamation phentermine causing depression???
I've been on phentermine for 1 week and 3 days. I've lost 6 lbs which I am happy about, although I'm still hungry, I just think mentally I do better at resisting the more fattening foods.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced anger or depression problems while taking phentermine. I have been extremeley deperessed for the past week or so, just miserable. I really don't want to blame it on this pill because it is working for me!! lol

I have been feeling the same way. Just generally sad every day. I've had some weight loss, but even that doesn't get me excited. I sort of just hate everything about me, and feel like life is just a boring monotony of ugliness. Haha- I suppose it gets better in time? I dunno. I went from hormonally crazy from a medically induced menopause (i'm only 23- so menopause this young was interesting to say the least), to now having hormones again, to phentermine....I think my body just doesn't know how to feel anymore. I think I let my true feelings show a little more now, which I guess I've held alot of emotional issues inside regarding how I perceive myself and my apparent low self esteem.

Whoah. Talk about some self-disclosure!

It might not seem like much, but it makes all the difference in the world to me!

I actually felt like that the first few weeks, but I don't feel like that anymore. I also heard of some people calling it phen rage!! I don't know if I had that or I just had really bad PMS. I feel 100% better and I have'nt lost anything in 3 wks, but I don't feel sad or angry. I felt the same way as you, I lost some weight and thought I should be happy and yet I felt very sad, but like I said that feeling has since gone away.........Good luck!!

I hope so...I can tell my husband is tired of my sad attitude. And I'm getting tired of it too quite frankly! Its exhausting feeling sad all the time. Its like a constant burden to be so unhappy with my body. I guess I'll find out soon- I am about to run out of pills, and I can't get any appts with the dr. i was seeing because of some issues with his business and there are just too many people trying to get in that you end up waiting for hours to see him. So I'm about to start this weight loss journey without the help of phen. i'm so scared that I'll gain it all back....

Thats EXACTLY how I feel. Bored and miserable. I just had finals so it's not like I'm really bored, I just feel bored. I haven't taken phen for 2 days now and oddly enough I've been in very good spirits. I'm going to start taking it again Monday and see what happens. If my mood goes south again I'm def going to quit phen...I'd rather be happy and chubby then thin and depressed.
For the ones who said it gets better....please explain? How long did it take for the mood swings to go away??
Thanks to everyone who replied!
