Default Can a scale be that off?
Hi all. Long time reader, first time poster.

I haven't had a scale in many (10?) years. I have weighed myself at my mother-in-law's house on Sunday. It said 165. I then went to Wal-Mart and stepped on a scale there. It said the same thing. Both were not digital they were the dial thing. So, today I decided that instead of wondering every day how much I weigh, I bought a digital scale. I weighed on the dial one at Wal-Mart again before I put the digital one in the buggy. It said 160. My clothes fit differently now too. So, I get home and step on my new scale...it says 168. What??? I tried it in a different room hoping that maybe my kitchen floor was not level. Nope, it still said 168. Now my question is: Can a digital scale be off?? Why are my clothes fitting different (we are talking about a wearing a different size altogether) and then I've gained? Please help a newby out. What's going on??

TIA

danielle

IDK this is a hard one. Could you have gained some muscle? Muscle can make the scale stay or go up but you lose inches so the clothes fit better.

I'm not sure about the muscle. I stepped on the dial scale today and then came straight home with the digital.
