OMG..I HATE MY DOCTOR IN RICHMOND, VA - Phentermine.com

okay...so i go to my dr's appt.....pcp....and discuss how im feeling and i how i wanted to discuss weight management....and discussed phentermine...he told me he doesn't prescribe diet pills....then told me to try weight watchers....and then talked about i need to cut out carbs and count calories...and that there is no mircale pill....WELL IF IT WERE THAT SIMPLE I WOULDN'T HAVE MADE THE FREAKING APPT...HE SOUNDS LIKE ANY OTHER RANDOM SKINNY PERSON WHO DOESNT HAVE A CLUE HOW HARD IT IS TO BE OVERWEIGHT. THE ISSUE IS NOT KNOWING TO CUT THE CARBS....OR COUNT CALORIES..I JUST NEED SOMETHING THAT WILL ASSIST ME IN SUPRESSING MY APPETITE..I CAN DO THE REST....AND SOMETHING TO PEP ME UP SOME...W/OUT DRINKING RED BULL AND FRAPS FROM STARBUCKS...HE LEFT THE ROOM....AND I ACTUALLY STARTED CRYING....BUT HE DID PRESCRIBE ME ANTIBIOTICS FOR BRONCHITIS...WTF EVER..... WELL..I JUST LEFT WALGREENS AND WHILE THERE...ASKED ONE OF THE ASSISTANTS IN THE PHARMACY HOW MUCH THEIR PHENTERMINE WAS...SHE TOLD ME $40....NOT THE GENERIC KIND...AND I ASKED HER IF SHE GETS A LOT OF PRESCRIPITIONS FOR THE MEDICINE..SHE SAID YES...AND GAVE ME ONE OF THE DRS NAMES...SO I HAVE AN APPT ON 5/1....I JUST NEED TO CHANGE MY PCP....I HOPE THIS WORKS..BECAUSE IF NOT..I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO......

IM JUST SO UPSET RIGHT NOW.....I FEEL LIKE I WASTED $20

Hey, sorry that you are haveing such a bad day. I think that we have all ran across Dr. like that. I'm new here and i have found out that it is nice to have people to vent to that actually have the same problems you do. Don't let it get you down. at least you have taken the first step into you weight loss journey. Oh, by the way, if that is a current pic. of you, then you wear your weight well. I was at 219 when i started and didn't look half that good.

Thought I was the only one who was mad at there dr. I went this past saturday to discuss the same thing. He also told me to join weight watchers. He also said not sure what you want me to do. Told him I would like to start the phen and he flat out said no we dont prescribe diet pills. Told me that I needed to do this on my own. So I have a appt on MAy 23rd with weight loss clinic. Thank you for the compliment Phen-Tab....The one thing that really made me upset...was that i called in advance. I called and they made he made it seem like he needed to check my weight..bmi..thyroid...etc.....as if he was going to prescribe me the pill...all they had to do is tell me no..and i could've continued w/ my search

My doctor was pretty cool about it, and actually said the only problem with Phen is that your body gets used to it so taking it for a long period of time isn't a long term solution. So she mentioned Weight Watchers meetings as a tool to use after.

I had the same issue with my doctor. Saw him once and discussed weight and he was all sympathetic, ordered labs for cholesterol and blood sugar, discussed strategies like calorie counting and exercise, told me to record everything I did for a month then come back and we would discuss options. So I did exactly as he asked. I had already been working out 3-4 times a week at the gym, doing yoga, and eating a low calorie, vegetarian diet, so I had no problems recording it all down. Took everything back to him in a month and he barely even reviewed it and made some comment about how I'm doing everything right and should be losing weight on my own. He tells me to just give it time, and if I wanted he could give me the name of a dietician! I asked about weight loss pills, either prescription or otc to get the loss kick started and he told me "there's no magic pill." Needless to say I was furious.

My sister told me about Phentermine, her doc had prescribed it for her and she had lost 70 lbs. So next time I went to visit her (2 hours away), she got me an appointment with him. Luckily he's covered under my insurance (I just said I was getting a second opinion). He was the complete opposite of my PCP. I just mentioned weight loss and he immediately started discussing options as far as prescriptions, telling me the pros and cons of each. We decided on Phentermine and he spent a good 30 minutes explaining not only the pills, but when and how to take them, and what to eat in order for them to work most efficiently. I lost 22 lbs in the first 6 weeks, so it is well worth the cost in gas for an office visit!
