Default I'm new and ready to go!!
Good morning everybody! I am new on Phen, took my first pill this morning. I have struggled with weight my entire life and now need some help with it. I was overweight as a kid, then found anorexia to be my friend in my teenage years...not so much of a friend!! Found myself in treatment...which was great, but discovered the joys of bulemia. You guessed it...more treatment! When I was 17, I weighed 103 lbs and at the age of 21 I was 269.

I managed to get on track, but then came motherhood 3 times over within just over 4 years...uggh. I am stuck at 201. My Dr. told me I have another strike against me because back in 2002 after the birth of my 3rd son I had to have an emergency hysterectomy, so I am stuck in a menopausal state of metabolism...to add to how I already screwed my body up!

Anyway, as I was in her office yesterday for my physical, I was in tears. She doesn't ususally prescribe Phen, except I do exercise bike and treadmill 4-6 times a week, watch everything that I eat and still seem to GAIN weight. All I want is to be 175 lbs. again like I was 3 years ago. All the bloodwork showed ok, no thyroid or diabetes problems, so she agreed to 3-4 months of Phen therapy to "BOOST" my metabolism.

To be honest, I am scared. I hear horror stories about these kinds of drugs and side effects, but I am going to try it and put my faith in her. Does anybody have any "funky" side effects?

I was so excited when I found this website last night, I am hoping to make connections with people here to help me through this. I am getting married on June 14th, and I want to do is feel good about myself. Right now I am hating what I see on the outside and it is an everyday battle not to go back to my old eating disorder habits.

Hello Missy! It sounds like you have the right attitude to do what it takes, to get to where you want to be. If you don't already have one, it would be really helpful to start a food journal. I have 3 small children myself, 4 in all, and I was amazed at how many times a was grabbing a fry or two here and there. Those calories really add up. Keeping a daily journal will really help to see how many calories you are actually taking in.

I am also new to phen, but I'm hoping this will be a new start to a new me! Good luck to you in your journey. The only problem I really have is, I have to force myself to eat, and sometimes i feel a little jittery in the morning.
