30% of 1500 is 450... so about 450 calories of your daily menu should be fats, or about 30% of your total caloric intake for the day.
If you are looking at a package of say hot dogs, and the calories are 300 and 150 of them are from fat, then 50% of that food is fat, and 150 calories should be deducted from your daily total of 450.
It's a learning process to be sure. I believe fat has 9cal per gram and protien and carbs have 7? Can someone verify that?
I do know there are 3,500 c = 1lb. So to lose a pound a week, you have to take 3,500 calories out of your week, via food or exercise. So to lose 2lbs one week, you took out 7,000c from your diet or worked out in exercise.
