Default Meal Plan confusion
I hope someone can help because I have just confused myself big time.

My meal plan is 1500 calories (30% fat). I don't understand how I am supposed to count the 30% fat number. Is it a total of 30 grams of fat per day or am I supposed to count the "calories from fat" for each item I eat? Or is it something else?

I've been counting fat grams but I don't think I'm doing it right.

Can anyone help?

Hi.. hope this helps.

30% of 1500 is 450... so about 450 calories of your daily menu should be fats, or about 30% of your total caloric intake for the day.

If you are looking at a package of say hot dogs, and the calories are 300 and 150 of them are from fat, then 50% of that food is fat, and 150 calories should be deducted from your daily total of 450.

It's a learning process to be sure. I believe fat has 9cal per gram and protien and carbs have 7? Can someone verify that?

I do know there are 3,500 c = 1lb. So to lose a pound a week, you have to take 3,500 calories out of your week, via food or exercise. So to lose 2lbs one week, you took out 7,000c from your diet or worked out in exercise.

Default Thanks!!
Great, thanks for the info. Just as I thought, I was counting wrong, but it was a good thing I suppose - I was only allowing myself 30 grams per day rather than 50.

I've been on Phen for a week. I weighed in at the doctor last Friday at 199 1/2. I weighed and measured this morning at home and MY scales say I've lost 9 1/2 pounds. This mornings measurement says I've lost 1 inch around my bust, 2 inches around my hips, and 1 1/2 around my butt.

I am guessing this is water weight, but it's a start at least.
