Hey everyone! I am thinking of asking my doctor to prescribe Phentermine because for some reason my appetite has gone through the roof and I know that it is the reason for my weight gain. The only problem is that I also suffer from hypothyroidism and I'm afraid he's going to tell me that I can't take Phen because of it. Does anyone else on here that already takes Phen have an underactive thyroid? LEt me know!

    Thanks!!! )

I don't suffer from any thyroid problems, but I found this post from last year discussing it.

You can always contact your pharmacist and ask them about drug interactions. I've found that they are usually more knowledgable about that than a doctor. They would probably be able to tell you if phen would have any effect on the thyroid.

Good luck and keep us updated!

Babydoll, did your doctor give you a hard time about prescribing the phen? I'm worried that my doctor won't go for it - but I'm getting married in 9 months and really need to drop some weight!!!!

oh well! i talked to my doctor and he said that he won't prescribe Phentermine for me. He's telling me that there are no safe medications or drugs that will reduce my appetite.

If you really would like to try phentermine, get a second opinion from a doctor that specializes in weight loss.
