Usually people break out while they're on phen because they're not getting enough water to drink or their diet is lacking proper nutrients.

Are you drinking at least 80 ounces of water a day and eating 1200 calories? Do you take a multi-vitamin?

Hey Dizneylsg. I had the same problem about 3 weeks into phen. I talked to my doctor about it, thinking it was a side effect to the medication. He told me that all the water that I am drinking in combination with eating right is releasing all the toxins in my body. He told me to stop taking the phen for about 1 week, then try again. I did that, and I haven't had a problem since. (All my poisonous toxins must be out)

I went through this also and Isiah is right. Just take a brief break ( I took 2 wks off) and came back. The acne is much better, but I still have a bit.

wow, thanks a lot for your advice. I guess I will be taking a little break then..because I am totally healthy with my meals. I drink lots of water and have 3 sensible meals a day, with snacks in between. I guess now I know! Thanks a lot I will also let my roomate know about this!

I have been on Phen since 9/30...so about 1 month. I am down 12lbs, but have broken out on my chest and a little on my back. I wasn't sure why it was happening. I thought maybe it was because I started working out. Now, reading your posts I think it is the phen. Maybe I will take a week off too and see what happens.

My chin and the right side of my face. I am going to see my Dermatologist Thursday. I was put on Diiferin cream about 1 year ago so I have been using some of that, but I want to see if there is something else I can use. I drink 80 oz of water per day so I think it is a side effect of the Phen. I think I am going to order Proactive as well.

    Jenfri,

You said you were taking differin cream on your face. I was prescribed that about a year ago, and the doc didn't really tell me much about it, just said put it where ever you think you have a problem....Ok, why did I insist on putting it on everywhere??!! Hell I didn't know any better. Anyways, my skin was soooo dried out, and it took two weeks to get it back to normal. With your expierence, was this ever an issue for you? How did you apply it? I still have the tube left, but a little scared to try it again, the only place I guess I need to use it is my chin, all those annoying little white heads.

Yeah - I started Phen on Saturday, 11/5 and since then I've been breaking out a lot on my face! Usually I get a pimple or two here or there like 2 weeks before my period or so, but this is crazy!! The last 2 days I drank about 60 FL OZ of water but today I've stepped it up to 80 or more. (The dry mouth thing is definitely TRUE for me!) Anyway, I'll see if my body adjusts to the hormonal change I'm putting it through (seratonin levels, etc.) and keep drinking the water. If the breakouts don't improve in a week, I guess I'll take a break for one week like mentioned above. Hope it goes away cause I don't want to have to take a break right now! I'm just getting started!!

I went to my Dermatologist and she prescribed Retin A and some pills to take, I forgot the name, I will post it later. She said there really is no reason to order expensive skin care. She went to school with the women who made Proactive when she was at Stanford. Shen said Aveeno and Neatrogena make perfectly fine products for women who break out. So, I went to Target and bought Neatrogena for sensitive skin, I have my pills, and my Retin A. Hopefully this will help.

A little note: only use on the face, neck, and back

Update: This morning when I got up, my face was looking better. Before I went to bed last night, I washed it really well with my Cetaphil (that's what I always use anyway) and then I put a little rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and dabbed it on the pimples. (I know, rubbing alcohol can dry your skin out, which is why I rarely ever use it.) I woke up this morning looking much better! Pimples are drying up and going away. The extra water I drank might have helped as well. Hope it keeps going away!!

If I don't drink at least 5 - 16oz bottles of water in a day I will wake up with a zit. In the weirdest places too, like my NECK. I've never had a zit on my neck before. But as long as I keep up with my water I'm okay.
