Hi! I am new to the board and I just started Phentermine 2 days ago. I was just also diagnosed with hypothyroidism, after a lump was found on my thyroid and assume that I will be put on medication for that at my follow-up appointment. Anyone else dealing with hypothyroidism also and can you let me know how those meds work and also if Phentermine has helped, even with this condition. Any replies would be greatly appreciated!

HT for 10 years. I have a hard time losing but that's no excuse. Set goals, particularly in food intake, exercise and water. Stick to them and it will come off, maybe not at the rate of some on this board but it will come.
My goals: 1. 1200 calories a day 2. 3 quarts of water a day 3. Exercise atleast half hour a day. Slow and steady seems to stay off better anyway. Phen is just another tool. Use it wisely. |

Hey there!! Just got my script for phen filled yesterday. I too am dealing with Hypothyroidism. I am excited and motivated to get this weight OFF!!! I have always been 10-20lbs above my ideal weight but when my thyroid shut down after the birth of my second child, BAM!!! Needless to say I am way beyond that 10-20lb extra! I have dieted but only lose a few pounds then plateau no matter what I do! I hope the phen helps me punch past the plateaus!!!

skinnymommy...I also developed mine after my last pregnancy, I assume at least, which I gave birth to him almost 4 months ago. I also had 3 babies in 3 years, which really made things bad and the weight just packs on, but doesn't come off easily at all. Good luck! This is my 8th day on it and I have lost 8.5 pounds.

Okay, first I have to say He is ADORABLE!!!! And girl you got your hands FULL!! But what a blessing children are! I started Synthroid in Dec.2003. i started feeling much better a couple of months later but the weight didn't budge. So, I figured I had given my thyroid enough time and put in enough effort. So far with the phen I have lost 8lbs. The last couple of days I haven't lost anymore and I am trying not to get discourged already. I don't think I have been taking in enough calories and I am going to try and drink more water. UG!! I know slow and steady is the best way to do it but I get soooo impatient! My starting weight was 216. I am 5'10" and carry my weight pretty evenly. I am shooting for a goal weight of 150 which is what I used to weigh long, long ago!! After the birth of my first child(who is 7)I was back down to within 10 pounds of that in no time. So, it has been very frustrating carrying around this weight for so long after my second child! I hope I see at least a couple of pounds come off next week. Are you weighing every day or just weekly? Keep me posted and good luck to you too! |
