I have a problem with my thyroid....Its sluggish and my regular doctor has started my medication, and she is trying to set me at the lowest dose possible.

I have been getting my phen from a diet doctor, who is not giving me thyroid medication at the time due to the fact that Im trying to get my thyroid straigtened out in the first place.

The first time I took phen, I took their thyroid pill as well, I am finding this time the weight is coming off very slowly, and if I miss a dose of the phen the weight returns quickly...sometimes 5-6 pounds in a day....It makes me miserable and somehow I seem to be fighting the same 5 pounds over and over....

Has anyone else had this problem???

That sounds kinda strange. My beriatric doctor just tested my thyroid on friday, and I havent gotten the results back, but he prescribes thyroid meds even if your thyroid is on the low side of normal. He was hoping that I would be on the lower side so he could prescribe them to me to help me lose weight faster while on phen. Now Im a little worried about taking them.

thyroid med DOES NOT help you loose weight. it only helps you maintain your weight.

i have had thyroid disease for 4 years (hypothyroidism) i was recently prescribed phen and i DO NOT take them together. i take phen in the a.m. and synthroid at night... both on an empty stoamch. i want to make sure that the two do not interfere w/each other.

its imperative that you have your thyroid maintained!!! since being on phen, my dr has had to adjust my dose bc i went from hypo to hyperthyroid. so, if your TSH level is on the low end of normal, you should get it checked at least every month-- i went from 1.3 (low norm) to .003 (hyper)in 2 weeks!!

I also have hypothyroid- Hashimotos. I take the phen apart from the thyroid meds. Thyroid meds will not see a significant weight loss at all. But they should not interfere with the phen either- as long as you space them apart- btw all thyroid meds should be taken alone/seperate from any other meds.
