Hello!

I'm new to the site and the phentermine world. I'm just looking to lose around 20lbs, and I'm wondering if anyone else has used this med for around that amount of weight. My BMI is less than 27, so I'm wondering if the meds will affect me differently.

Also, I read that the pills should not be cut in half. I assume that is for the capsules and not the tablets? Can the tablets (white with blue specs) be cut in half?

Welcome! I personally think that phen works for any amount of weight loss as long as you are following a diet and exercise plan and drinking plenty of water. There are a lot of other people on here who break the tablets in half and take 1/2 in the A.M. and 1/2 around lunch (no later than noon or 1:00). I wish you luck.

I gained weight because my doctor changed my bc pill and unfortunately one of the side effects was rapid weight gain. I gained 15 pounds in 3 weeks. I'd say that's rapid. I've been off of that for 6 months and I can't get the weight off. I've always been active, but that pill completely changed my appetite. I've really been struggling with portion control, so I'm hoping phen will help!

Keepers. I was on Depo. and I had gained all my pregnancy weight back.. in 1996.. was that the BC you were on?... It took me a yr to get it off.

No, it was Estrostep, which I affectionately call the "fat pill". I seriously could not stop eating. I've never been so hungry - nothing satisfied me.

I was on Seasonale before that, which I termed the "death pill". I didn't gain any weight with that pill, but I threw up every morning for three months. It was awful.

Now I'm on Yasmin which seems to be working well. I don't have any side effects...

It's amazing how much bc can mess with you. It affects everything - weight, moods....it just takes a while to find one that works right with your body, I guess.

My doc told me it would take a year to lose the estrostep weight. I got off of estro in January of 05, so here we are at a year and I've only lost 5 pounds. I've been exercising and eating right and it won't budge. Apparently that pill has a lot of estrogen in it, and I've been told that an excess of estrogen causes your body to turn food to fat more quickly. That seems to make sense because ever since I've taken that pill, I just feel like I have this extra layer of "softness" . It made me retain a lot of water as well, and I think that's the five pounds I've lost.

Hopefully phen will work. This has not been the happiest year for me....I'm looking forward to feeling cute again!

Oh, I've been on Yasmin for 6 months. (I wrote that incorrectly in the 2nd post). Yasmin is supposed to be a diuretic, so that's probably where the water weight went. Doc told me it should make me lose 2-4 pounds in a year. I don't even call that weight loss!

is your dr prescribing the phen to you or are you ordering it online? I only ask because I thought you had to have a bmi greater than 27. If you are ordering it online I would get checked out often. There has to be a reason they say it is for a bmi 27 and over. I would hate for you to hurt yourself just to lose weight.

Yes, I ordered it online which I know is not the smartest thing to do. But I've researched it, and actually found out about it from a friend who received it from her doctor. She is about my size, and is also on Yasmin. Her doctor said she could only take it for one month and gave her a small dosage. So, that's what I'm thinking I'm going to do.

I also spoke to a doctor who is a friend of mine. (Note, they are not my doctor, nor does she specialize in this kind of medicine) But she said it should be fine if I only take a small dosage for a short period of time.

But, trust me, if I feel any weirdness or side effects, I will stop. It's not worth damaging my health.

But, I agree, doing it without a doc's prescription is fishy, so I'm going to pay close attention and listen to my body.

snow you shouldn't order from either. if you want some fake phen in a capsul i can send you some for $299.99 cuz thats what their gonna charge you online
