    Does anyone have any advice about this? I started taking one yesterday. I know that I have to change my eating habits, and that I should add exercise. I have really been making an effort to cut back, but I am still gaining. I have gained about 15-20lbs in 3 months. I weaned my son from breastfeeding about 3 months ago, and also stopped taking a hormone supplement I was using to boost my milk supply. The dr is running tests on my thyroid, hormones, and metabo. So anyway I got the diet pill 37.5 mg phen. It cut my appetite yesterday considerably and I didnt have any jittery etc side effects, and I was able to sleep last night. I dont know if it will take longer to have the effects. So anyway my goal is to change my eating habits with the help of the phen, and hopefully to get in a cycle of eating better so that when I come off the phen I wont jsut gain it right back. I have never EVER really dieted before in my life. I have always had a high metaba and drank tons of water, and not eaten after 5:30 and been fine. I would really love to loose 20lbs min. I weighed this morning naked at 164lbs and was 168 with my clothes on at the drs. He did a boby mass index on me and I was one point away from the obese column. He said to me I dont usually treat people your size I feel like you look great. I said if I dont get it under control now I am headed to the next catagory and he agreed.

    So anyway my questions is, with the phen I know I still need to eat to keep my metabo going. This morning I had about an 1oz of cheddar cheese and 1/2 bottle of propel. I had chicken soup for dinner last night. I know I should add some fruit in, what else?

    I would really appreciate suggestions.

    Doctors are such boobs! If he was a woman he would understand. Sheesh!

    You want it straight?

    You're not eating enough! I know you think to lose you gotta starve, but that's not the way it works. It's so easy too when phen just takes your appetite away, but trust me hon, that backfires quickly and pretty soon your metabolism is dirt.

    What works best for me is to just snack all day. I can't bear the thought of breakfast, never have time for lunch and am too tired to make supper. So, I just munch every few hours, which suits me fine because my appetite only allows for small amounts of food. And seeing how you had some measily cheese and a little soup yesterday, maybe that would work for you?

    Can you try and count your calories? Try to get 1100-1200 a day. You're going to sabotage your metabolism if you don't. Strive for protein (like the cheese, deli meats, chicken, etc...), veggies, fruit, good carbs, nuts, yogurt, oatmeal. I try to eat as little packaged food as possible. I eat a ton of fruit. I stay away from the diet foods too, like the Slim-Fast drinks and bars...I swear they make me hungry a couple hours later.

    Unfortunately phen isn't the miracle pill we all think it is after reading some of these forums. I've been on it for 3 weeks now and have only lost 4 pounds. The people here that have really lost weight have worked very hard following a good diet and exercise routine. I think we all get excited because for the first couple days we see a good loss on the scale because we are dumping water weight. After that if you don't drink a ton of water a day, you retain really quickly and find yourself feeling bloated. I'm only on half of the 37.5 dose because I couldn't tolerate the whole dose, but the appetite suppressant wears off. You still feel full faster when you eat, but about after the second week you get hunger pains again. I would definately hit your 1200 calories a day and try to work out at least a half hour 4 or more days. Plus baby weight seems alot easier to dump so you should have great results. I wish I tolerated the whole dose as well as you. Good luck to you!!

    Hey I am new at this but this is what my dr said to do. Just for info he said to take your weight and times it by I thinkit was 23 or 29. That would be the number of calories that you would have to eat to maintain the weight at what you are now. he also said for every 500 calories you take off, will be a pound you would/could lose in one week. he did say to NEVER go under 1200 calories. He said your hormones would get all out of wack and mess your periods up as well. He said women MUST have at least 1200 calories. He did say that you should have an ounce of water for every pound you weigh. I asked him if he thought I was a fish
