What is the deal with water intake and water pills?

I have seen many posts that talk about drinking lots of water with Phentermine but many don't say why. I was just wondering why? My doctor did not say anything about water and phentermine. I have also seen alot of posts about phentermine and water pills. Does anyone know why? I am so confused.

I was so glad this thread was here when I first started.
I couldn't leave the house my first day I kept going to the bathroom before I read this I tried not drinking so much water and I noticed I didn't lose any weight. So the next day I went back to drinking a 1/2 gal. a day.
