Anyone know the verdict on taking phentermine while breastfeeding? I am so anxious to get some and get started but I am still nursing my nearly 6 month old son. Has anyone received any info about this?

I read that you are not supposed to take Phentermine while breastfeeding. It can be transfered to the baby through the milk. Just go to the Phen Info on the top left of this page. It will advise you to call and ask your doctor. There is some more good advice in there too. Good luck with the little bundle of joy.
I know it is definetly not recommended for nursing mothers, since it does pass into the breastmilk. I know how anxious u r to lose weight, my daughter is 8 months old and I couldnt wait either. I knew her health was more important before my weight was. She decided on her own to stop nursing since she lost interest. But as soon as she did I ran to the doctor to get it!! lol I would have rather kept nursing her since it hurt my feelings that she didnt want to anymore but it all worked out.We r both happy now. Good Luck!!
First off, good for you for giving your son the best start in life with the most perfect food for him![]()
PLEASE don't take Phen while nursing. I know how hard it is after having a baby, and how much we long to lose the excess "baby weight" but right now your son needs your milk for his nutrition. Not only could the Phen pass through you and get into the milk- you also risk messing up your supply. Have you looked into Weight Watchers? They have a program designed for nursing mothers. PM if you'd like and I can give you specific info if you can't get to a meeting.
