I got up early and drove to the Jorie Center in Oak Brook to arrive at 8:30am. They only take new patients at certain times. Guess what??!!
They were closed due to the holiday. I was going to wait and call at 8:30 but then I would be 45 minutes later than the opening time.
I also read that I should not take phen with prozac. I am on a low dose for pms and it works. Any advice? Help! I need to figure something out. Anyone know of another place in Illinois that actually takes appointments? Jorie does not and it is first come first serve. They are closed next Tuesday also and I really don't want to wait.
I was so excited to go this morning and get started with a program.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Brooke

Hey Bbrooke -

Dr. Gupta (you've probably heard the radio ads) in Naperville is exactly what you are looking for. It is called the Nutrition Clinic and is located in the 1250 professional building on the corner of Diehl and Naper Blvd. They will take appointments, but are very easy to get into. Your initial appointment takes about 1 hr. because they do some tests and ask some questions....but you leave there with phen.

Also, I take 20mg of Prozac and have taken Phen with no problem. I started on November 24th and have lost 22 lbs. My goal is 80 total...but am trying to take it slow.....am worried about loose skin.

party on!

Joolz, Thank you!
Do you go there? I am calling tomorrow. I take the same dose of Prozac. It really has been amazing with pms. Not even a cramp this last period.
I have 15 pounds to loose. I have previously lost 40 pounds and kept it off until a year ago. I have gained it and can't get a grip this time. That is what is really aggrivating because I have done the weight loss before.
Speaking of loose skin, I did have a breast lift after I lost the weight. I have not had babies (my son is adopted) so the breasts were the only
thing that needed major repairing.
I so appreciate the help! I live in Naperville so that is close for me.
Hope to have good results soon!

I started going to the Jorie Center in OakBrook Dec 16th. I immediatly lost 12 pounds in a matter of 2 weeks and now my weight is not budging. I did not even cheat over the holidays I go back in a week in a half. My doc gave me a low dose of 30mg so maybe he will increase it. I am back to getting cravings but have been fighting them?? Any suggestions.

Have you ever heard of SHD? ( Sacred heart diet) I dont know how much you have to lose, but you can get the diet off of the idiet4u.com website, and I can tell you it can have amazing results. If I get my but in gear Monday, I'll start posting results here, and maybe I'll start a thread with the whole diet/modified on it. I made a ton of modifications to the standard SHD, by adding protien, and sugar free items. I still lost from 4-8# a week consistantly, and was excersising VERY little.
Warning- if you go to the site, and read the forums, there are posts boasting of 15 & 20# a week losses. Sorry, I just dont believe it, Im afraid. I was a poster for whole summer, and talked to alot of people, and even IF it were true, it wouldnt be good for a person for sure.
Sorry for jumping in here, I am new to the board, I miss my old posting habits on the Idiet4U site, but everyone is gone there now. I need to lose some weight NOW, and I know the only way will be by posting my thoughts on other people's diet problems. Who knows? maybe I'll actually help someone?!
In closing may I say- Every LIFE should have 9 CATS!

Am I eligible for Phentermine?

I am wondering if someone can tell me if I am eligable to get Phentermine? I just had a baby and my pre pregnancy weight was 123lbs. At that time I was measured for my wedding dress (not knowing that I was expecting...YIKES!) During pregnancy I ballooned up to 175lbs. and had my baby in August. I lost a signifigant amount of weight after the birth but I am still sitting at 138lbs to 140lbs. I have been exercising and eating well but still cant seem to loose the weight and get down below 138lbs. I need to get back to the 123lb mark so I do not have to have extreem alterations done on my beautiful dress! I want to make an appt. at the Jorie Center to get on Phentermine but I am afraid that they will refuse me. I was perscribed phentermine in the past and after I reached a certain point which I do not remember what it was...I was refused. I am 5'6" and am used to being between 120 - 128lbs. I am hoping I can get a prescription of phentermine just to help boost my weight loss. Please let me know if I am an eligible candidate. Thanks!
