Thread: new, confused and discouraged!!

    I've been on the 37.5 dose for 5 days, since thursday, and I weighed myself thursday night with clothes on and weighed 270, then I decided to weigh in the morning because you weigh less in the morning and I weighed with a tshirt and a pair of shorts and I weighed 265, so that is the weight I wrote down. Well I decided to weigh myself today, Monday and I weighed 270, so I've gained 5 lbs. I've been eating healthier, walking and drinking water. I'm getting discouraged, I'm eating less too. What's the problem? Please HELP!!!

    What are you eating? You should be eating protein and fruits, veggies, try staying away from the carbs but you need them as well.

    Are you exercising? If you are you may be gaining muscle but loosing the fat. Try taking measurements instead of just relying on the scale. Muscle weighs more than fat.

    Make sure you weigh yourself the same time each time. The best time to weigh yourself is in the morning after you use the restroom.

    kscott is spot on, one thing though--don't confuse carbs with starches. There are good carbs, fruits, veggies, a little pasta, whole grains.
    Not good starches, white stuff: flour, sugar, rice.
    Weight loss will fluctuate. I don't see the need to weigh more than once a week when you are loosing. First thing in the morning, naked.

    I agree. Weight at the same time and naked is the best so your always wearing the same thing . more water. i would concider your SW to be 170. and go from there. it could do with weather, and body water retention. or your TOM. what your eating. look at everything and keep track of your calories write them down, i think most people would be surprised at how many caloiries they eat with out even knowing....so good luck

    Well I think I might of figured it out. I ate some ham yesterday for lunch and it's got a lot of sodiumm in it. I've been staying away from the carbs, I eat a few fruits. I have been excercising also. I'm eating plenty of veggies and drinking plenty of water. I think the ham might of been the problem. I think I will wait and weigh in on Friday so I won't be so dicouraged. Thanks for your help!!

    I heard that over and above your regular 8-8oz glasses of water you should add another 8 oz glass for every 25 lbs you are over 100. Your retaining it...flush it away. Very hard to add watch the sodium to wach the fat, carbs, protien etc. little confused my self need to figure out what that leaves. i'd live on slimfast and salads but not enough calories! Good Luck! We can do this!
