Hi everyone..I am a newbie. I have been lurking for a couple of days and noticed that several people ask about Dr's that will write a script for Phen. Because I was new to my area and didnt want to waste time and co pays looking for one I just called the local pharmacist and asked him which Dr in the area wrote them. I made an appointment and had my Phen that day. Total was $25 copay and $27 for pills. (Have lost 21 lbs in 2 months) Good luck to everyone on their weight loss journey!

Wow. I'm really surprised they gave you that information. I would never have thought to ask.

Do you live in a small town?

Wow! I never thought of that one! It makes sense that the pharm told you, because as long as he wasn't giving you another patient's info, then he wasn't voilating HIPAA rules. Next time my doc's out of town, I will have to try searching for a backup doc like that!!!

I made an appointment over a week ago, but my doc was out until tomorrow and that's when I will finally see him for another script. It upsets me because I have an event to go to next week and I sure would have appreciated that extra week of weight loss!

    Nice job!

Hi, I really liked your idea of calling a pharmacist, but I ran into a brick wall here. I tried three different pharmacies and they all said the same thing: they couldn't give out doctors' names because it was like recommending a doctor which is illegal.

I don't know if this is a law that's specific to my state or if I just had bad luck. If anyone finds a loophole for this rule, please let us know.

    Thanks,

    Jake

    Hey JakeSM,
Try calling general prac. around your town and ask the receptionist if Dr. so and so will prescribe weight loss pills. Give it a try...good luck.

    Parkersmom,

I have heard about the pills in the little plastic bag. Medicine should NEVER come in a plastic bag. I haven't heard of the sites you mentioned but if I were you I would not take them. Do they have the pharmacy that filled them? Some people have gotten the bags from India I think. As far as the shape of the pills I have never heard of/seen round pills. You might even want to take them to your local pharm and ask him to identify them. You can PM me if you want some other ideas.

I'm glad you're using phen under a doctor's care. It's a great tool, but it does have risks, so it's important to be monitored.
