Well after I have read so many posts here and have seen people talking about calories I figured I should see where I was at. I was afraid I wasnt eating enough calories. Ok first of all I am a BIG girl( 400 lbs) ya I know yikes. Hard to admit but I gotta get over it. I have reduced what I eat drastically. I ate whatever I wanted and whenever. I sat down today and since I started Sept 1st I wrote down everything I have ate.
Day 1 - 1272 Calories
Day 2 - 1311 Calories
Day 3 - So far 957
I know those sound like huge amounts of food but it isnt I think I need to be a little more selective. I have to eat at work. I work with juvenile boys in an academy so the food there is WONDERFUL (ya right) they had chicken pot pie on my day one and that came to 542 calories. Geez I cant even imagine what my calorie intake was before. YIKES!!! I saw someone posted 1200 was a good range. Cant remember.
So far it is going ok I do have some hunger but the pills are helping I am drinking at least 100 oz of water a day. I have energy, usually all weekend I lay on couch watching tv. Well today I cleaned 2 ceiling fans and caulked my tub which took over an hr and been surfing all day on the net. Researching alot of stuff. I went to bed at 11pm and got up at 5 am it is now 4 pm my time and normally I would of taken a nap by now. Both my kids are gone this weekend too so I am bored. Oh ya I vaccummed the whole house again just did that last night dang ceiling fans. Anyway thought I would share. Anyone have info on how many calories are good or bad?

When you first log into the Phen. site on the left hand side is a tool bar. You will see Phen tools click on there. After that screen you will see a calorie calulater, read and then click on to calulate. Hope this helps.

never go below 1200, your metabolism slows way down at that point.

Multiply your weight x 10

that gives you the number of calories your body needs to maintain that weight. Depending on how much you weigh, cut that number by 500 or 1000 if you have enough extra. cutting it by 500 per day will lose 1 pound per week. 1000 per day will lose 2 pounds per week. if you are doing this and exercising, the weight will melt off.

Example: I weigh 213
My body needs 2130 calories per day to maintain that weight. So I try for 1500 a day and that cuts about 600 calories for my body.

I hope this helps!

Well my sister is a nurse and we talked and she advised to range between 1500 to 2000 due to what my weight is. So I have ranged it between there. I know I am eating alot less than what I used to so that should help. I know I struggle to even eat that 1500 at times but I am keeping a calorie journal and I found fitday a few days ago you can enter in the food and find the calories too so that helps. Thanks for all the relplies I am on day 5 and I only want to weigh once a month kinda curious already.
