Default So many diets out there

And they all work if you can stick to them. That's the trick. I always tjhought there was something wrong with me because I could not stick to the "normal" lowfat diet. I was always hungry and I had terrible cravings. And I hate being hungry. And the 100 calorie packs? forget about it. I could eat 6 of those in one sitting. So I discovered low carb/high fat. OMG! No hunger, No cravings. I feel so pissed off that I was fed all that lowfat crap for so long when there was another option. So for those of you that feel like you can't stay on the wagon I wanted you to realize there are other options out there. A diet shouldn't make you suffer. And it's also not one size fits all.

You are so right...I give you props for being able to switch to a low carb lifestyle though. I know I would never be able to maintain that forever. I love myself some pasta and bread. lol But it all comes down to finding what works for yourself. For me it was just finding the right combo of foods that kept me full. And as it end up its mostly all breakfest foods.

Heck yeah. Low carb is the only way for me. I tried the low calorie but that didn't work at all.....however everybody acts differently to different diets. For me, my body responds immediately and wonderfully to low carb.

I was surprised that I never missed pasta since I use to have it once a week. And I have a wonderful recipe for low carb bread. Now brownies I miss terribly :-)

Yeah I tried it once I was on the verge of passing out and very VERY cranky... I find that when you first begin dieting hard core low carb is good... because it allows you some quantity and you still get results.... then as you get smaller you can have smaller portions and more healthy carbs with no ill effects... it's a process that has to constantly change as you change.....

Exactly :-) By the time you make your way up the rungs, you're eating everything except junk. People feel bad when they first start low carb because their body is detoxing from all the sugar in their body.
Anyway, like I said. Different diets out there. Whatever works for you ;-)

Everybody's body responds differently. No matter which 'diet' you do...just know that it's not a diet. It needs to be your new forever. You have to be able to live with it. So make changes that will fit into your lifestyle, or you will not have long term success.

For me, the low fat diet works. I keep my fat intake to a reasonable level...I can keep my weight at a reasonable level. And monitoring my fat intake is easy peasy. But I really dislike the term 'diet'. I'm not on a diet. I eat low fat foods. I cook with limited oils. But I do still have fat. Heck, I have REAL bacon every weekend. I just don't have 6 slices! I try to keep it at 2...but every once in a while an extra slice or 2 gets eaten when it's fresh off the skillet!

Yup, Like I said. You have to do what works for you. And if you can live with it full time, you've found the right lifestyle change for your body.
If I had known a long time ago that there were other diets out there besides low fat I wouldn't have ballooned up to this weight.

    So true!

Like me though, I prefer very lowfat and whole foods. My problem though, is when I become lazy. Then of course its not lowfat and I can eat a LOT no matter.
I found a happy medium of Eat To Live and the first phase of The Fat Smash diet. I do so much better when I stick with the two diets combined.

I just have to learn to not be lazy because then I don't care what I'm eating.lol

There is some truth to what Oprah says.

Several weeks ago on either the Biggest Loser or Dr. Oz, I remember the comment that "low-fat" foods are worse than regular foods because in order for "low-fat' foods to have some flavor - sugar is added to make it taste good.

We all know "sugar" is what causes weight gain not 'fat'. So it makes perfect sense that if you only eat low-fat, your weight will increases and you can't figure out why because you think you are being so good.

I stick with regular foods (except milk) because, you can't eat "low-fat" forever. I eat protein with veggies, some greek yogurt, limit my bread intake and I drink tons of water.

So true. I think it's better with any diet if you stick with whole natural foods and limit the fake foods. Me, I feel so much more satisfied and better on a high fat diet. And fat in it's natural form is so good for you.
