Kelliee was actually the inspiration behind this post...(i don't know you, but thanks)...anyway.
I'm getting better with exercising portion control, and I still exercise 5 days/week for a minimum of 45 minutes...I average an hour though. My biggest obstacle is my water intake....I was never a big drinker anyway and this is the cause of my weight yo-yoing during the course of a week...by as much as 3 lbs.
We've seen the articles on the importance of water while dieting and how if flushes the toxins out your system and xyz...so i'm trying to turn my weakness into a strength and not just do this for the duration, but make it a healthy practice.
So, i'm challenging myself...and those that struggle to get their water intake in...to drink 100 oz. of water per day. If you can't do it or it seems overwhelming...start out with your daily water intake, then try to increase it by 10% every 2 weeks until you hit 100 oz....then let's keep it in stride.
I realized all this week...when looking in my food journal, I drank between 84-96 oz of water a day.
Right now...I'm usually drinking 4-5 bottles of water. I have a 2.5 gallon water container in my office that i refill my bottle with and my water is sitting by the door in my living room so i grab a bottle on the way out. I'm falling short in the afternoon and i'm falling short with dinner.
For my water intake...this is my ultimate goal.
16.9 oz...between the time i get up and arrive to work.
16.9 oz with breakfast
16.9 oz between my mid-morning snack and lunch-time
16.9 oz with lunch...most times it carries over past lunch
16.9 oz in the late-afternoon...between afternoon snack and going home
16.9 oz during my workout
16.9 oz with my dinner
If you want to join along with me...great. I need all the support I can possibly get. I'll support you if you support me....
This is one of my favorite quotes in general...but this quote has definitely been a mantra for me during this weight loss journey...and during this embrace of a healthy lifestyle because I don't want to just lose this weight to turn around and gain it back...I want to make changes in my life and behavior that I can live with and not feel deprived so I can take these things with me for the rest of my days. That's why i'm sure I probably seem like such a b**** to some people on here...but it is what it is.

I want to be healthy, I want you to be healthy...I'm fortunate to still have 2 of 4 grandparents living...my grandmother is 84 and my grandfather will be 91 and both still drive and have an excellent quality of life. I want to be blessed to live that long...and even longer. I'm trying to hit triple digits if that's in the plan...and i'm trying to still be as spry as can be when I do it.
This isn't a diet for me and it isn't all about the number on the scale for me...other than losing weight i've been able to lower my cholesterol from an astronomical 296 to 185 without the aid of medicine in approximately 1 year...I even managed to lower my blood pressure to 115/75...my resting heart rate is now in the high 60's from a resting heart rate of 86...and i'm trying to get that even lower.
