    Question Phentermine and coffee

I take my phentermine in the morning and then have my 2 cups of coffee. I don't eat until 2 hours after I take the phentermine. I have seen that some people think that caffeine and phentermine shouldn't get taken together because caffeine decreases the effects of phentermine. I don't understand how this works? Please enlighten me
    Thanks

I too drink 2 cups in the morning. I was doing it 2-3 hours before my phen but now I drink it around the same time... I havent noticed any difference in the effectiveness.

From what I understand of it and please correct me if Im wrong... Caffeine makes your metabolism speed up so you digest phen faster...

That and the increased caffeine intake can make your heart speed up and raise your blood pressure. For me I havent had that issue. I think its due to the fact that I have been an avid caffeine consumer for so long.

I drink one cup in the morning and I drink tea several times throughout the day. I find that the phen has lost it's potency and I think the caffeine helps me with some energy. I can't speak to whether or not caffeine decreases the effectiveness of Phen but I guess everyone is different. =)

I drink 4 cups of coffee by lunch most days and it doesn't seem to bother me. I take my Phen around 10:00 a.m. I have been taking a Tylenol pm at night to help me sleep. Everyones body is different. I am sure it would effect some more than others. Good luck!

These are published findings of the Wayne Diet Clinic Nutrition Guide:

Studies from the Wayne Diet Clinic Nutrition Guide show that lemon water can help prevent or slow tolerance to Phentermine. The formula for lemon water contains:

    2-3 ounces of lemon juice
    1 quart of water

(You are supposed to drink it every day. )

The Wayne Diet Clinic has also found that avoiding drinking sodas and other caffeinated beverages can help slow or prevent Phentermine tolerance. This is because caffeine speeds up metabolism, which has a diuretic effect and in turn causes you to excrete Phentermine from your body much more quickly through urine.
You should avoid caffeinated foods and drinks as much as possible Caffeine speeds up the excretion of Phentermine from your body. Because of this, Phentermine has less time to suppress your appetite.

UGH! So all of us who are caffeine addicts, we are more than likely causing our Phen to be counter-productive...let's try to get OFF of the caffeine if we want to see more beneficial results. The thing about this that I really don't "get" is the fact that the majority of diet drugs on the market are FULL of caffeine...so ???

This was posted awhile back from a member. I did not drink coffee the first 3 months I was on phen. I hope this helps you.

I haven't found any differences before and after I mixed Phentermine with coffee.

But it also depends on your heart health conditions! If not sure, consult your doctor!!!

I just heard you shouldn't drink it because it intensifies the effect. I drink it all the time

I guess I heard wrong. Here is the info:

What substances should I avoid to help enable Phentermine?

You should avoid caffeinated foods and drinks as much as possible. Caffeine is a naturally-occurring substance found in the leaves, seeds or fruits of over 63 plant species worldwide and is part of a group of compounds known as methylxanthines.

The most commonly known sources of caffeine are coffee and cocoa beans, cola nuts and tea leaves. Caffeine is a pharmacologically active substance and, depending on the dose, can be a mild central nervous system stimulant. Caffeine does not accumulate in the body over the course of time and is normally excreted within several hours of consumption. It is toxic in large doses.

Caffeine speeds up the excretion of Phentermine from your body. Because of this, Phentermine has less time to suppress your appetite.

In the human brain, the centers which tell your body whether you’re hungry or full are controlled by neurotransmitters. Increased levels of the neurotransmitters called norepinephrine and dopamine suppress the feeding center. Increased levels of norepinephrine in the satiety center stimulate eating, while increased levels of serotonin in the satiety center suppress the appetite.
    Goals:

    140 lbs - September 7, 2010
