    Ladies! Guess what!!!!

I fell asleep at 11 last night and then hubby woke me up and said "shawn your phone" I heard the ring and was like OMG what the heck... I got up to check bc it was a special ring...

So guess what Im doing today...

Going to see my brother! He texted me last night and kinda broke down then asked if I wanted to come up, talk and hang out for the day since he cant leave til he gets "cleared" on Weds to come home for a few days before he heads out to Kansas. He also said "I miss our bro/sis time" aww. I told him me too hun.

So Im trying to waking up and getting stuff together to bring with me. Im so nervous, happy and sad at the same time.

We havent seen each other since Christmas Eve! I miss him.

Other than that I lightened my hair last night. Im really blonde now!

And I had the groomer give my poodle a Mohawk. LOL Then I dyed it green with food coloring. It was suppose to be teal but it was really green on his hair. Its faded to a blue right now. You should've seen the looks I got from people at PetSmart when I took him shopping yesterday. LOL This woman glanced over then completely flipped her whole body around to glare at me. I smiled and kept walking. It was too funny! Either people thought it was adorable or ridiculous no in between.

Ok Ive gotta get off here and get my stuff done.

Wish me luck! I hope everything goes well with Brother!

    Have a wonderful day ladies!

Congratulations Shawntel!! I am so happy for you! I know how much your brother and your relationship with him means to you! How is the scrapbook for him coming? Are you going to take it with you? Ibet your time together will be both happy and sad, but sad in a good way.

I like ceramics too. One of the reasons i asked you about it. My mom owns a kilm and hundreds of ceramic molds! She is thinking about giving them away I think because she doesn't do anything with it all. I'm sure she will sell the kilm but I know she said something about burying the molds I think??? Sounds crazy but my mom can be crazy some times lol. I like to paint, but I never have time to do anything. I was thinking about having a ceramic painting day with the pregnant women but still not sure yet. I only get 10-15 minutes max with each woman and not all at the same time. They come in as they are waiting to be seen.

Well I have pretty good news today! The scale still had the 5!! 145.8! It's up 0.2 more than yesterday but I have no doubt that it's water after all that walking yesterday and I drank 134 ounces of water yesterday too! Eating today will not be very good! It's my sons birthday so there will be ice cream, cake, and pizza and he wanted Mcdonalds for lunch! I am good so far though. I have only eaten 670 calories total so far with breakfast and lunch. even though I will be eating the other stuff I will make it small portions and I do plan to exercise it off. I realized that my biggest problem has been eating little when I exercise and a lot when I don't which is the opposite of what I should be doing.

Funny story, We NEVER eat at McDonalds anymore, only maybe a few times a year tops, which is why Jonathan chose there for lunch today! Well I think he learned his lesson lol. After eating my nephew goes uo to refill his HI-C and Jonathan looks at me and says "I don't want to fill mine up, I'm already feeling sick" LOL! I'm not mean, it's funny because he can feel the difference in how bad the MCD's food is now that we never eat it! I hope I am installing good habits in him for life. I love MCD's food but it does make me feel sick now because my body isn't use to the garbage anymore. I like the taste but my body hates it! It's strange bc the first time I was on Phen all I did was eat less and lost a ton of weight with no exercise! The thing about it is that MCD's was the only thing I could stomach back then! It's amazing what getting healthy changes. Oh and my son was feeling icky but after about 30 minuetes, he is fine now LOL!

Well ladies have a great weekend!!! Off to update my stats!

Shawntel...that's great your brother is reaching out to you, because you know you're all your brother has and vice-versa. Siblings can make you lose your mind, sanity and religion...but they are your sibling. I hope you guys enjoy the time he has until he goes and the relationship you have will do nothing but flourish and grow while he's away and you'll pick right back up when he comes home safe and sound.

LOL...i love the green mohawk on the dog, and the lady @ PetSmart was just admiring you and the poodle. Yay for the new blonde hair.

I can honestly say I feel human again...I got my pedicure and will get my brows done sometime this week.

As far as me...nothing terribly interesting is going on. I have a mild case of swimmer's shoulder, its probably from the sudden increase in workout...testing out my endurance with the swimmer's snorkel (we went from 0.25 miles to upwards of 0.75 miles in a week), because I was thinking that it was my form and my elbow was probably dropping as I got tired. I have decent range of motion, but it's uncomfortable to bend the arm @ a 90 degree angle and any rotation moves. So, its not getting me out of the water totally because I would have a fit...but this is the time for me to improve my total immersion technique and i do more kick drills and side stroke so I can let my shoulder heal. So, I have some frozen peas taped to my shoulder....but i'm still fine.

So, i'm making an appointment with the doctor
    Goals...everybody's gotta have them

    Phase I- 199.0 lbs- completed on (3/14/2010)

    Phase II- 179.0 lbs
    Phase III-164.0 lbs

    Default FINALLY!!!!!

The dreaded plateau is over! I weighed in on Wed and was 248. I was SO excited! then I decided to weigh in on Sat morning just to see if I was stuck again and I was 246!!!!! I can't even believe it! Hopefully this is the start of another good loss.

I'm sorry that I haven't been on here in a while ladies. We had a power outage the other night and it fried my computer monitor so we had to buy a new one. Hubby was down in Denver when it happened so I had to wait for him to get back.

    Hey ladies!

I have some more news to update you all on. I decided today to train myself to run a 5K! Thats's about 3.1 miles! I can walk that much easily and then some but the farthest I have ever run straight was 1 mile! So I am going to build myself up to it. I bought myself a new pair of running shoes (Good excuse for new shoes LOL) and I ran today! I ran a total of one mile in two sections of half mile each. I also walked a little but not sure how much, probably only 1/4 mile so I'm not counting it. The problem i have with running is not my muscles, but my lungs! my chest hurts so bad because I don't breathe right. I need to learn to do that or it will never get easier. My goal is to be able to run the full 5K by the end of summer, but I decided to register for ine coming uo this Saturday too. I'm not going to be able to run the whole thing, but I will walk what I don't run and hubby said he will do it with me!!! He said he'll run as much as he can too and our son too and no matter what we will all stay together! It's a basically flat area along the river so I should be able to run at least 1/3 of it. I'll be practicing this week!

I'm not sure if I told you all or not, but I also set a goal for myself to walk/run 25 miles a week! I did 23 last week so it seems plausible. My weeks start on Saturday and so far I have 4 miles in! Only 21 to go

Shawntel, I am so happy you and your brother got together!

Laura, Congratulations on the loss!!! I'm so proud of you! Doing the happy dance for you too!!!

Cynthia, Sorry about your shoulder. I'm glad you're going to the doctor though. My hubby hurts himself all the time and refuses to go to the doc and then it always gets worse which is no good!

    Were is everyone???

    Hello ladies!

Sorry I've been scarce, between physical therapy appointments, personal training appointments and going to the gym I've been knackered by the time I get home at 8 or 9pm and almost 1 month until my wedding!!!

I didn't even scroll back yet to see all I missed, I think I last posted a rambly story about my gram and my fave blanket

Anyways, things are going good weight wise, I love my personal trainer and seeing her once a week for the past month has helped, i've learned a lot but can't afford to keep going as such. So I asked her to create a program for me and I'll continue to go once a month to revamp the program and such (measurements, etc.) She is the one who measured me about a week before I started taking phen and when I went back last week she did measurements again, WELL all my hard work has been paying off...granted weight wise i've still stuck with the around 10 lbs of weight loss but I've also lost 8 inches!!!
I was so excited! Ya'll don't think this is low for eating right, exercising and being on phen do you? I know we're each different but...

My physical therapist also released me last week from having to go for my lower back pain. It still exists but going there for the past month and half, learning lower back stretches/strengthening exercises that I do on a daily basis now has helped greatly. She said to continue doing what I'm doing and I may still feel occasional pain for the next few months.

On another side note I'm hoping to be able to physically be able to hula hoop again soon (with my back it would leave me in pain the next day, think the hip motion and such) BUT if any of you find anything about hula hooping in your area go and try it out, it's great fun, an easy exercise that makes you feel like a kid again!!! I can also let you know how to make your own hoop as well.

I've purchased a BOSU, some dumbbells, and a scale that does all the same stuff that yours does Maria! I got mine at the sports store 'Academy' here in Austin for $30. It's the same one they use on 'biggest loser' apparently, lol.

I am on my last week of Phen (in case you forgot my ob/gyn only wanted me on for a month at a time, one month on and then one month off to maintain, etc.) so I had a rough wkd. didn't take the phen either day because I woke up too late and just felt exhausted both days and hungry and craving all day too! Not quite so motivating and that the scale said 166.4 this morning. I think my TOM is this week though so maybe that's why but it didn't leave me happy in thinking how this is my last week for a few wks! But overall, I feel I've done good!

Hope ya'll are doing great and keeping it up! OH, I know there was talk of clothes fitting and using that as a basis! Well i've been in my 14 jeans for so long now, i have a few levi 12 S (but again it makes you think what sizes they all REALLY are) but anyways, normally my 12 S are snug when i put them on and then thru-out the day they get looser...well on friday when I put them on they were already loose! And over the wkd. I found an awesome anne taylor pinup-like skirt at the thrift store size 10 THAT FIT!!! I was as happy as a little girl!

OKs, so i'm done ramblin' that was my MIA catchup!

    Hi guys!

Getting ready to go to the gym. Didnt make Zumba this morning bc I had an interview. So were gonna go get familiar with the place tonight and hopefully we can make the noon class tomorrow.

I had so much fun with brother u guys. He FINALLY said something about my weight loss!!! He actually said he was going to back in Dec but didnt know if it had anything to do w some medical stuff. Then Saturday he was just like DAMN Shawn! LOL He couldnt believe I had lost so many pounds and inches. He actually asked how its possible bc I didnt look like I had that much to lose. LOL He told me I look tiny when I got in my jammies. AWW haha

Then Randi a friend of ours I havent seen in almost a year shouted it across the bar. LOL

All in all it was fun.

Maria- That is so awesome your going to do the 5K!!

We did our Zumba class tonight! We stayed til 7:30 to do it. It was soo fun! Hubby didnt do horrible... He was just backwards from the rest of the class. LOL But seriously I felt like I had no rhythm compared to all the other women...

It was alot of fun and were going back tomorrow at noon.

Where is everyone? This place is pretty dead!

HELLOOO- O !!!! Echo Echo Echo anybody here???

I figure the excitement from brother has worn off a little so I can concentrate on replying back to ya'll now. Sorry I have been ignoring you guys and only talking about me and brother!

Maria- Ceramics sounds so fun. I cant imagine having so many molds! And burying them? Never heard of such a thing! LOL And I agree with you about the McD's thing... I use to love their fries and now they are so full of salt they are icky to me. Have you or anyone here actually noticed they are more sensitive to things like salt or spicy stuff? I think I asked this before but I swear every time I eat I notice it! And Congrats again on the 5!!!! I know how awesome that must be!

BTW 25 miles in a week is going to be great for you! A little too ambitious for me but I know you have the determination to do it!!

Cynthia- Sorry about your shoulder! That just doesnt sound like any fun! but LOL @ the peas! I cant wait to get a pedicure! Im so jealous!!

Ill try and post a pic here of the mohawk. I know Maria saw it on my Facebook but it is too cute. We got him completely shaved down since its going to be so warm and he has super curly nappy hair. And thank you for the kind words about our relationship. It made me smile.

Laura- YAY for the moving scale!!! I know about them power outages they really mess things up! We had a playstation blow up and at work we had a monitor AND tower burn up. Oh are you taking phen again? Hows the fat flush going?

Leah!- You are a busy girl! That is so awesome with the inches! Do you have your dress yet? Is it still gonna fit if you do? You kicking butt girlie. As for the amount... Do you know what you Body fat is? Bc that makes a big diff as to how "low" you can go with you weight. Im having that issue. According to BMI stuff I should be like 130 or something but according to my body fat if I had 0 fat I would still be 157lbs... So what I mean is you might not have that much to lose which is why you didnt see a huge 20lb loss. You know? Either way 10lbs and 8 inches is AMAZING and you will look great on your wedding day!

How awesome you got released. I havent experienced any back issues but hubby fractured his T11 and T12 when he was 19 at work and he still has the occasional pain but trust those stretches and exercises they work!

Wait what? Make your own hula hoop? I gotta know! I use to love doing that! I swear it works your core so well. I look like a complete nerd when Im doing it on the wii tho! haha Its so bad I could prolly be a finalist in Americas Funniest home Videos... LOL

That skirt sounds soo cute! I love the pin up look. I dont think it looks good on me tho. LOL Congrats on all the loss and smaller size AND looser clothes! You are doing great... Is your Ob gonna put you back on phen next month and just have you come in monthly or are you going to only get it like every other month? Whatever you do dont leave us k?

One last question... What day is your wedding? the 24th?

    Where are you guys? Donna!!!

    Monica you disappeared!

    Hello all~
Work has been CrAzY lately, as my school has been undergoing a national accrediting audit, which means they turn over every stone in looking for what is wrong--lots of stress, stress, stress and LONG days/nights gathering info. and writing reports!!! SO, gotta get off here and help my daughter with her homework, and hopefully work out later.

    Later. chicks!

Sorry I haven't been on in forever. I know I have lots of catching up to do on everyone, but just wanted to update you all real quick.

As for me I'm really disappointed in myself today. I watched Maria do an awesome workout tonight which I'll let her tell you about and I feel like I didn't push myself enough. Of course for me this is my TOM week so I'm hoping that, that is what my problem is. No energy and very emotional. I also have gotten some crappy news yesterday about my bf and I'm trying my best to deal with it. As I said earlier in one of my posts that I'm on our local commitee for our Mayfest, well today I found out that we may add a 5k race to the events of that day. If that is the case I'm going to start working toward that. I would really like to participate in it if it's meant to be. well enough about me.

Maria- I'm very proud of you for all that you are doing and how much u support me. Thank you..
    She~la

    Hey ladies!

Sorry I missed yesterday, I had a ton of homework to catch up on but that;s done and here I am! I didn't exercise yesterday but I more than made up for it tonight!

I moved my treadmills incline down to 1.5% and ran 3.1 miles(5K) at 4.5 miles/hour!!!! I also walked 2.25 miles so I did a total of 5.25 miles today!! I did not think I was able to do it, I really didn't! I started reading stuff online about how to train yourself to run and it said to run at a pace that you can carry on a full conversation and to run at an incline of 1%. My treadmill only goes down to 1.5 so I didn't have a choice there. I warmed uo and then started running. I stopped at 1 mile to run to the bathroom but only for like 30 seconds haha! I'm hoping that all this means I should be able to run the whole 5K on Saturday! 9 miles in for the week so far!!!

Shawntel, I'm so happy you and your brother had a great time!

Leah, congratulations on the loss of 10 pounds and 8 inches!!! That's awsome!

Shiela, don't feel bad about your workouts, trust me, I know how hard it is especially in the beginning! Thanks for encouraging me tonight!!

Donna, sorry you're dealing with so much stress right now. Just remember, all things eventually pass, even the annoying stressfull stuff.

Looks like we've all gotten so busy with this whole 'life' thing going on! I've still been reading, just minus witty posts! I have like 2 pages to go through to reply to so I'll try and do that sometime today...but for right now:

Maria- That is awesome about doing that 5k, yay! You sound ready, willing, and motivated! And I think it's super awesome that your hubby and son are doing it with you, makes it a family affair and so much more fun! You go girl!

Shawn- Yay for quality brother time! He's actually leaving on my birthday *sob*, so you have one week to finish his book! I think once you finish it, it'll be refreshing for you and something that he'll be super blessed with. OH, and I saw green mohawked puppy pics on another thread I guess it was - so ADORABLE! People are so lame and judgmental sometimes, I feel bad for people like that, they are only miserable themselves!

OK, so you gals wanted a wedding rundown, and I've been meaning to post at least links to my dress, etc. My wedding is April 28, 2010, so almost a month away!!! I'm nervous but just in the wanting everything to go okay kinda way. I'm also very excited for my family and friends flying in from PA for our day I've felt homesick (people wise) more so lately and I think a lot of it is from doing all this wedding stuff. Even though we're pretty much keeping it simple, I miss my girlfriends being able to help me with things.

So, get to it already leah!

Location: Chapel Dulcinea, Austin Texas (cute southern stone style FREE wedding chapel)

    http://www.chapeldulcinea.org/photos-of-the-chapel/

My mom is renting a house nearby with some family friends, we were going to do a bbq there but things fell through with being able to have 20+ people there and I still really wanted everyone to experience Texas style bbq, because it's COMPLETELY different than anything us yankee's are used to up in the northeast. But we also have been trying to be frugal with things, we could've drawn the whole wedding thing out and wasted tons of $ on silly things but in the long run I'd rather put those thousands towards a house or something So no, I won't be having 'Leah & Martin' matchbooks, sorry guys! lol. After the ceremony we're going to do cake and wine at the pavilion next to the chapel, and after that we're just going to go to Rudy's bbq (my favorite) which is close by the Chapel. So kinda a little backwards and with no huge reception but we're a little backwards ourselves so...

We're not going on a honeymoon or anything right now, for one we can't really afford to at the moment, and two, family and friends will be in town so we're just going to spend quality time with them. My dad is staying with us while he's here and we'll be staying at an unknown hotel the night of our wedding (Martin's planning)

Hmm, what else? Since we're doing something small (50 people max) we're not doing a bridal party and stuff like that. We both like the 40s/50s era, Martin is wearing a brown pinstriped suit and I’m wearing an ivory cocktail swing dress:

    http://www.unique-vintage.com/queen-...ss-p-2099.html

I’m going to have red as my accent color by wearing a red petticoat underneath and red shoes, a style kinda like this (I love this wedding and the pics btw):

    http://www.rocknrollbride.com/2009/1...st/#more-29472

Ok, I think that covers all the wedding stuffs! I’ll respond more to other stuffs in a bit!

    Default Really long Caffeinated post!

Leah - omg! how gorgeous that dress is!! Its so pretty!! I agree with the wasting money thing. I refused to order things like matchbooks and napkins. My gma threw a hissy fit! I told her Im not paying $100 for napkins with my name on it for people to throw away esp when I know the Marriott [where we got married] has plenty of nice cloth ones they can wipe their mouths with. LOL So guess what... She ordered them and the matchbooks. LOL

That is a cute chapel too! Even better that its FREE AND CUTE!

We didnt do a honeymoon either. I didnt want to. I had family who were in from out of town. Particularly my Uncle [ my favorite uncle] I hadnt seen in 15 years who my hubby never met until the week before the wedding. We were going to go on one but we both decided well actually more my hubby decided that we should spend that money on plane tickets for my Aunt and Cousins so they could come w my Uncle. Since my oh so nice family [gma and aunts] only wanted to chip in for my uncle to come out!

Im sure your wedding will be great! My unsolicited advice is to make sure you spend time with everyone, so you dont regret it later.

Hi Monica! Congrats on getting the question! And being down 21lbs!!! Thats so great!

Tosh- a pound is a pound! It makes it even better when you lose it AND still had fun!

I just got back from the gym a little bit ago. We met with a trainer, he was AWESOME! Ive talked to a lot of trainers at various gyms and he was by far the coolest.

He asked us the usual what are your goals, and what have you been doing stuff. Hubby is doing it mostly to prepare for the academy and Cameron [the trainer] just so happened that most of his PT customers are Officers. SOO that was nice, he knew EXACTLY what hubby needed to do. And did an assessment on him to see where hes at and what he needs to work on... Well He ran .46 miles in 5 mins so he needs to speed up a little and build up his stamina so he can get .5 mi in 5 mins that would meet his running part. Then he was showing him how to work on pull ups and push ups. Hubbys weaknesses. Found out what exactly his BF% is too.

Guys get ready for this... My hubby is 6'2 and weighs 274lbs as of this morning... His BF% is 24! I honestly knew he didnt have that high of a % but I never would have guessed he was in the "acceptable" range! HOW AWESOME!!! Im so PROUD of him! I cant remember what I figured it at before but Im pretty sure it was higher...

As for me well ick! LOL No really tho. I told him I want to lose body fat!!! He was like "ok let me ask you this... Hows your eating? BC if your not eating right you wont lose fat" I told him my eating is great High protein and low good carbs. Then hubby jumped in and was like "Yeah shes doing great she has lost 50lbs!" Then Cameron asked how long about a year? I told him Nope since November... He was stunned! LOL It was great!

He weighed me and before he did I asked to honestly tell me what he thinks I weigh... I took off my sweater and told him to be 100% honest it wont hurt my feelings. It would actually motivate me... He said 180!!! I told him for real?? He swore thats his honest opinion... And then asked if he was too high... LOL I jumped on the scale and it read 210 w my shoes on... HE JUST ABOUT FELL OVER! I told him "I love u!" LOL he laughed and said he has never been that far off on weight. haha IDK if he was just humoring me or what but I felt good.

You would think he's a trainer so he would say you looked bigger to get you to buy a training package to help lose faster... At least I would think that. LOL

But anyway. My bf% is 33... I think it went up? IDK he used the caliper method. I usually have it done with the hand held thingy... Not too bad actually. He was impressed. that I have as much as I do. He said that a great goal for me would be 23-25% I told him I was aiming for 20-21 and he said no way. Id look funny. LOL

I figured it all out like the dork I am and that means if I keep the same Lean mass which is highly unlikely with the workout he wants me to do... But my goal weight would be 173-179 with a 22-23% BF. Which is right in the ball park I was aiming for anyway...

Oh yeah the workout... He told me I only need 35 mins cardio MAX and need to concentrate on using the free weights bc its going to burn up the last of my fat and tone. BC GUESS WHAT! Im at the stage now where thats what I need to work on!!!!!! CRAZY! Never thought Id hear anybody say that!

Im super excited if you cant tell! Im actually only 32 ish pounds from my "perfect" weight! Holy crap! He also said that would help get me moving again. I told him I feel like Ive been fighting the same 5lbs forever! He said and I quote "thats what happens when your so close to a perfect goal weight" LMAO

So If I stick to this regiment for the next 30 days I should be back on track and be at goal by summer for sure! OMG!!!! EEEKKKK!!

Ok ok Im done for now... If you guys actually read all that you deserve a HUG!

congrats shawntel...LOL, i actually did make it through the entire post, but then I spend a lot of my workday reading...and reading what would be boring stuff to the average person. Congrats on the almost 50 lbs since November...you are really burning those pounds off

As far as your meeting with the trainer...congrats on having similar goals in mind. I think that makes things so much easier when expectations are aligned...you and mister will do well and kick butt. I think its good to see a trainer because you'll learn proper form for exercises and learn different things to do, then take what you learn...and work it on out. Also, I notice for me...when I did the group training, the trainer will push you a little further because you do have some accountability. I hope you guys have fun and enjoy the workouts!

Based on my height...the BMI charts say I should weigh between 97-126 lbs. There is no way on earth that I will weigh 126 lbs again...I haven't weight that since sophomore year of college which was over 10 years ago.

I think I will look better between 145-155...I'm a grown woman so they can go ahead with that. Honestly, 33% isn't that bad...25% is the high end of the acceptable range which means you have around 8% body fat to lose. The last time I was measured my body fat % was 35% and I said that I want to get down to around 23% body fat. I'm sure I will lose some lean muscle mass (minimal)...but the goal is to minimize the muscle mass loss...and that is remedied with weight and resistance training.

Thanks guys for the inquiries about my shoulder...it is doing much better. My reg. doctor said that the muscle was inflamed and I did the right thing by stopping my swim workout, not "playing through the pain" and keeping ice on it as well as stretching it a little each day. He said to take an over the counter anti-inflammatory medicine and be careful of my workouts, plus I should look into resistance and light weight bearing exercises that will help me develop that muscle. I think I will ease back up to the half mile swims gradually. I will start with 1/4th of a mile and maybe add 1 lap every 1-2 weeks.

Tomorrow is my weigh in and i'm not excited...The nutritionist increased my calories last month to 1500 and she has me doing that diet exchange program I HATE HATE HATE HATE that program, but I try to stick it out. I can stay under my calories without a problem, but 5 oz. of protein/day...i'm totally not feeling it.

I don't like dairy with the exception of 2 types of cheeses...Sargento's 50-calorie string cheese and there is this Unikaas cheese from Whole Foods (but that's a treat for me). So trying to get me to eat 2-3 servings of dairy...isn't going to happy. I don't drink soy milk...its just that whole dairy taste is so unappealing to me. However, for these purposes...cheese isn't dairy, its one of my proteins.

She said...well if you stick to your diet and exercise, I see no reason why you can't lose 8 lbs in 1 month. Guess what...I didn't lose 8 lbs in one month according to the scale right now because I'm retaining water from my last workout. Oh well!...So you know i'll probably have that "I dare you to lecture me" attitude tomorrow. I'm still under 200 when I've weighed myself, I've been fluctuating between 197-199 and that's being weighed in underwear and socks in the morning. The last weigh in at the doctor's, I was 205.4 lbs so it would be nice to see 197 on the scale...but for some reason I think that scale will have me weighing 200 lbs.

Like I said...I haven't been 200 lbs or less in YEARS...I probably have to say around 6 years...so its a milestone to me even if it isn't to her. I'm going to try and have a positive attitude because it actually may be a good visit.
    Goals...everybody's gotta have them

    Phase I- 199.0 lbs- completed on (3/14/2010)

    Phase II- 179.0 lbs
    Phase III-164.0 lbs
Phase IV (the home stretch)-150 lbs

    Hey, girlies!

    Shawntel~
You ARE a mess, honey! I am LMAO at your post cuz it's easy to see how excited and bubbly you are- what a great personality! I'm still smiling! Good news from the trainer, huh? Glad to hear it for ya! So, you're going to stick with his exercise/training plan for the next 30 days to see how that changes your body- great idea! I've always heard that we should change up our exercise routine every 30-45 days to keep our bodies guessing and to "shock" it into changing, cuz it gets used to what we are doing and we see less and less gains/changes from our hard efforts...keep us posted!

    Tosha~
Glad you're checking in, doll! I was afraid your millionaire mystery man had kidnapped you, never to hear from you again! LOL

    Sheila~
Glad that you have Maria to keep you encouraged, but remember- YOU are keeping HER encouraged, too! Stay focused, sweetie- you CAN do this!

    Maria~
Happy that the stack of homework is behind you! Lord knows you need to work out just to relieve stress from homework! I'm sure of that! It's hard to juggle it all, isn't it? Seems like you're handling it well!

    Leah~
I envision your wedding as a gorgeous, dreamy, step-back-in-time event! Wouldn't it be COOL if your guests dresesed in 40s era clothes, too! WOW! Can't wait to see the pics! Have fun with this!

Hey Tosh! Guess what? I got married on Halloween too!! Our wedding was outside and we stood in a waterfall so it was really pretty. We wore robes instead of the traditional dress and tux. Since our wedding was on a Friday we waited until Saturday to have the reception which was all costume too! It was a blast. The whole firehall was decorated for Halloween! We did spend some money on decorations but we figured it was ok because they were 99% reusable and we love to decorate for Halloween more than Christmas! We have about 10 containers of Halloween decorations and only three for Christmas LOL. We'll have to post some pictures sometime! Some of mine are on facebook if you want to check them out. We also had a pumpkin carving party so we could have real jack-o-lanterns on all the tables as centerpieces! We carved 24 pumpkins all different, many were carved with the cool stencils!

Shawntel, Congrats on the great news! I wish so bad that I had acess to a personal trainer, even if only for like one week to get all straightened out. I would also LOVE to have a real body fat % test done. I'm curious how acurate my scale is. I think it's pretty close but who knows. I know I still have a ways to go.

Cynthia, I'm glad you're able to slowly start back into your swimming!

Donna, how have you been? have not heard much from you lately.

Leah, I love your wedding theme!! I think if we didn't love Halloween so much, the 40's theme would have been hubbys choice! he would have loved that! Your dress is beautiful!

For me today, I did it again!! I ran 3.25 miles and walked 2 miles tonight! I think I might actually be able to run the whole 5K on Saturday!!! I am fustrated though because my weight was 146.4 this morning! I know I might be retaining water but it's still irritating! After all that hard work I think I deserve to see a loss! I wouldn't be so upset but the inches are not dropping very fast either anymore! Ugh!!!

    Well I hope I didn't miss anyone! have a great day/night ladies!

LMAO! Donna, I totally was, am, are a mess. LOL Thanks tho! You know Ill keep you posted! So whats going on with you? How are you doing?

Maria- This is the advice I was given about the gym thing... Do you have any near you? Look up on their website and they almost all have some type of pass so you can try out the place first. Most around here are 7 days or 14 days even for the smaller ones like Anytime Fitness. When you go in ask to talk to a trainer and have them do a BF% on you. Its always been free when I have been to the gym...

My scale after we got back put hubby at 43% and thats pretty far off... Not sure about yours tho.

I would rec seeing if you can do that free pass thing even if its only to go in and get the test done! You and sheila should do it together!

You are rockin that treadmill girl! Damn! I am so proud of you!!!

Oh and my scale isnt staying consistent with my weight either. Its actually 3lbs heavier than the gym... IDK what one to believe! LOL Mine is the digital kind and theirs is the slide kind. So Im just using my home scale since thats what Ive been going off for so long anyway.

Last night we went back for some cardio... Guess what Hubby did it!!! He did 1.5 miles in 14:27!!! He felt like crap afterward BUT he did it!!! YAY I was so proud of him. Really what he needs to do is work on his stamina and breathing so he doesnt die out there. All night he kept saying "I cant believe I did it" I told him I knew he could.

Oh in case you guys are wondering... I decided Im going to support his pursuit of joining the LAPD. I still have worries about it but after talking to a few LAPD officers Im feeling better about it. I guess they only patrol Los Angeles. Which there are still bad areas of but not as bad as the areas I thought they patrolled like Compton, Inglewood Hawthorne Etc. I was asking them questions like how do your wives feel about it and all kinds of stuff. They assured me that almost every wife of an LAPD officer has the same worries. If they dont or didnt when their hubby got into the academy they ended up being the "gold diggers who just wanted their money and didnt care about the man to start with" LOL WOW those guys had some opinions. LOL

Im not sure if he will get accepted to the academy with how "tough" they are known to be bc "LAPD is a prestigious and everyone wants to say they went thru their academy" BUT if he does I will stand beside him and be proud. If not, I will still be proud he tried.

Ok so on to me. I did 15 mins last night on the bike. It said I was going at a speed of 18.7 miles per hour! WHOA lol thats fast. Then we did some ab exercises. I think I have some abs muscles somewhere bc I swear they are killing today! LOL

Other than that not much else to report. Other than I just about killed sisters friend Chels. She is really determined to get in shape. Im proud of her for that. Except sister is that girl at the gym who does everything half as sed so chels wasnt getting a good workout in... Until last night. I had her doing the same stuff the trainer said to do and she was really feeling it. So hopefully I didnt scare her off and she does it again with us.

Well ladies Ill be back later.

    Hope everyone is doing AMAZING!

Well ladies I am about as irritated as I can get! I have worked harder this week than I have worked in a long time and that damn scale is only moving up up up!! Every freaking day!!! I swear I am on the verge of saying F-it! I am going out of my mind!! The scale said 147.0 today! Remember Saturday it said 145.8! WTF! I would be alright with it but the inches are not changing much either! I feel like I am never going to get rid of all this belly flab! I don't expect to have rock hard abs, I just want to look good naked damn it!!! I'm sorry, I know this is not my usual cheerful optimistic self but I go through these stages and I think alright now things are moving and then WAM! Here I am again! These pounds and inches just are not going anywhere! If the little change I have seen is all I'm ever going to see from now on, it's going to take me another year to get the body I want and that's not fair!!! Ok, I'm done for now! Sorry again!

Shawntel, great job on the bike! I don't think I could ride that fast for that long. I understand the issues with your sisters friend. My niece is trying to get fit too and I want to push her but I also don't want to scare her away. She doesn't push herself tho. She is going to try to run the 5K with me on Saturday. I told her I wasn't slowing down for her so she will be on her own if she doesn't run. What I didn't tell her is that if she makes it the whole way I'm going to start pushing her harder than I ever have! She needs this!

Well...since I am typing to you all, I am not in jail nor on CNN for a hostile takeover, the doctor's visit wasn't bad. Oddly enough the nutritionist wasn't there when I had my appointment so I was in and out...the commute took longer than appointment because this is old hat for me. Plus...I research and have gotten great tips on here to keep the bad side effects at bay.

The scale at the doctor said 199.0 lbs (which is 2 lbs heavier than my scale at home...but then at home, i'm in my underwear)...so I had a 6.4 lb loss this month which I think is good. I like consistency in my life, and that works out to 1.6 lbs per week and I think that is a healthy loss. I tried to essentially dress the same way I do each month, keep things constant. I might go ahead and be a trooper and shoot for the 8 lbs by my next visit...but i'd be stoked with a 6 lb loss. All in all...i'm alright...which means I have 50-55 more lbs to go. It's funny...50 lbs doesn't seem too bad especially since i've lost close to 40. After this...I would have lost about a middle schooler/jr high student in weight.

@Shawntel- tell mister we said congrats...and we knew he could do it. He'll be able to run 1.5 miles in 12 minutes in no time....just think fast thoughts and be the gazelle. I hope he does get into and makes it through the LAPD police academy and its good you got to talk with other officers and their wives...its good to hear from folks that are going through this and living it too.

Hey, your sister's friend will be alright...if getting fit and healthy is truly what she wants...a little killin' in the gym builds character. I tell a lot of my friends who talk about working out with me..."you know i'm about that business in the gym, so you have to be prepared to haul buns if you are working out with me". I love working with the freeweights and the stability ball or BOSU...i'm not much of a machine weight person. So, your sister's friend now knows...you are about burning that fat and staying in motion

@Maria- wow...you are really moving it, 3.25 miles....you know that is a little over 5K, since 5K is actually 3.12 miles (that's sassy's nerd moment). You are an inspiration. I'm going to walk this 5K that i'm going to do in May...I will do the AIDS Walk in Oct and try to jog as much of it as possible. A group of my friends and I do it in honor of and memory of friends/family impacted by AIDS, so you know I want to be cute...since we're going to have t-shirts made and I would like my tee to be fitted and a medium or large.

As far as the weight thing...I'm usually about 1-3 lbs heavier after a workout, especially when i've pushed myself or done something new. People talk about how they lose weight after a workout...it has NEVER happened to me...I wish it would though. I was told that is the extra water that is helping to repair your muscles, so it will take a couple of days for the water to be released. I know you are frustrated...trust me, I understand. I woke up one morning and the scale said 201.0 and I was like WTF!!!, I've been eating great and exercising like a madwoman and the scale goes up, but 2 days later and a mug of green tea here and there...my scale said 198, then it moved the following day to 197.
    Goals...everybody's gotta have them

    Phase I- 199.0 lbs- completed on (3/14/2010)

    Phase II- 179.0 lbs
    Phase III-164.0 lbs
Phase IV (the home stretch)-150 lbs

Thank you so much Cynthia! I think I really needed to hear that. I think I'm going to take it majorly easy tomorrow since I am doing the 5K on Saturday. Sunday is complete and total day off of the gym period!! I have to see if there is any difference. I have moved my *** more than ever this week and if it didn't do any good I am going to be devestated! I did an hour of Zumba class tonight so I didn't walk at all. I am not going to get 25 miles in this week but I shouldn't have aimed that high anyway. I did 23 last week but that was more of a fluke! It was beautiful outside all week so all I did was walk. I can't expect myself to walk 5 miles 5 days a week and still do other things like Zumba too. Not to mention running for the 5K too (which I knew was 3.1 LOL, but thanks)

On a positive note, I joined my YMCA today and scheduled an appointment for next Thursday with the personal trainer. I'm not sure what all we will do at this first meeting but I have a feeling she wont be doing the BF% test. I'll have to wait and see though. Joining gets us big discounts on my sons soccer fees as well as me discounts on things like Zumba so it more than pays for itself.

Well ladies I have some HW to do so I'll ttly!

hey all... just thought i would jump on to let everyone know i'm still on bored and soo happy. i stepped on the scale this morning and it's at 215... that's 7lbs since i started. may not be much but i'm excited. I went grocery shopping the other day and got lots of fruits.. Of course now my son has also discovered them and so i'll have to go buy more soon..

thank you all for your encouraging words, they are greatly appreciated. I promised Maria since I was missing our workout tonight that I would walk for 1hr on the treadmill before coming to work today and I did it. I also walked/ran for about 20min last night and did some crunches and lunges.

well best head back to my work that is waiting on me. I'll post again soon.

    Maria~
I am envious of your determination to do the 5K! SInce college, I have wanted to do one, but for one reason ior another- marriage, kids, jobs, being overweight, college, etc- I haev never been able to do one--or maybe I just haven't made it a priority...maybe I have used all these things as excuses/reasons that I "couldn't" do one. Maybe I'll have to make that a goal for this summer...I think I will!!! Why not??? Just gotta find one locally, right?

Anyway, Maria, I'm sorry you're feeling so down about the result of all your hard efforts this week! I TOTALLY understand- been there, done that! Just stay focused on what you want. If you're working out hard and regularly, which we KNOW you are, and keeping your nutrition good, you WILL see results! Ya know whaqt I've said on here a ba-zillion times, "Keep your eyes on the prize!"

    Shawntel~
My daughter would be SSOOOO jealous of the Justin Beiber tickets!!! She's 13 and TOTALLY crazy over him--LOL! Hope you have an awesome time! Congrats on the free haircut, etc., too!!! Sounds like you need to buy a lottery ticket today- it's your lucky day!

    Sheila~
Congrats on the "two-one-five"!!!!! YAY!!! Keep it goin', chick!

    Tosh~
    Where are ya, girl?

    Soss~
Sorry that your nutritionist wasn't around for your appointment!!! Does that mean that you're gonna stick with the plan that she's got you on that you HATE, HATE, HATE? How often do you go to the doc? Weekly? Monthly?

    Leah~
Just about a month til the BIG day!!! YAY!!!

As for me, well, I'm just looking for Spring, girls. I think I've just about had all the winter and snow that I can stand. We had snow here AGAIN today! UGH! Nothing that amounted to anything- melted as soon as it hot the gorund, but man was it cold and nasty out! Not to mention that we had about an inch on our cars when we woke up Tuesday, with more still falling!! Spring CAN'T be far!

Well, gotta run. I've been on the elliptical for an hour, and will probably walk for who knows how long here shortly- depends on how things go down here at home tonight...

oh...nope, i have no intentions of doing that point exchange program this month. She'll be alright...or not. It's good that the nutritionist wasn't around because I was in a bad mood that morning from the commute (i don't like dealing with the traffic in that area, i'm thinking about changing to the clinic that is a little closer to the house.). I usually eat between 1450-1550 calories per day, I keep my sodium intake between 2000mg-2200mg and I watch my fat intake. I also eat a fairly clean diet...I get in 6 servings of veggies, 2-3 servings of fruit...the grain, eh...I might eat around 3 servings and the dairy...I'll find a good calcium supplement.

Plus, the drivers in that area...OMG, just absolutely horrible...it's usually the Navigator/Suburban/Denali driving soccer mom with a latte in one hand and the bluetooth in her ear with a sulking tween, a screeching pre-schooler and a squalling infant driving her berserk that figures that she should be able to straddle both lanes of traffic with her massive SUV or close her eyes and merge into traffic.

My appointments are every 4 weeks...oooh, i would have long since quit if I had to do weekly appointments based on the commute alone. So, once per month is good enough for me.

HAHA Cynthia, you just described many of the people I see driving everywhere I go LMAO!!

Congrats Shawntel on the second win too!!! That is so awsome! I never win anything!

Donna, I was thinking while reading your comments to me that you sounded like you were talking yourself into doing a 5K lol! Imagine my surprise when you said just that LOL.. You can do it I know for sure and take the kids! You're even allowed to walk them if you want!

    Tosh???

    Laura???

Leah...I know you're bust with wedding bells ringing LOL.

Shiela, I don't mention you much on here cause we see each other all the time but I wanted to make sure I said this clear!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am so proud of you! I was a little worried last week that you were giving up on me but that might have also been my own fustration too!

5K>>>> Oh how I love thee!!!! I had so much fun today! I wont lie, I was scared!!! I thought this thing was going to be basically flat..why I have no idea, considering I live here and I know it's nothing but mountains...anyway it was anything but flat lol. Their idea of a significant hill and my idea were not the same LOL.. There was one unbelievably crazy hill and many significant hills LOL. But...I STILL DID IT!! I ran the entire thing and I did it in 6 minutes less than I have done it on the treadmill!! The people were so nice too!! So many people encouraged each other along the way! Even people on the sidelines waiting for family encouraged complete strangers! I was amazed and it is by far one of the best experiences in my life! I am so pumped I have decided to train for a half marathon by the end of summer! I still want to go run right now!! As a matter of fact I think I will as soon as I am done doing my updates on here! Oh, I forgot to mention, my time was 34.20!!! Thats almost 5.5 mph!! I was all teary eyed after crossing the finishline. I swear I have never felt like that before in my life! I will adding pictures for you all to see too!! Ok thats it for me!!! I feel like the energizer bunny!!!

Oh I almost forgot, My husband, two of my nieces, and my friend Darla all did it too! Hubby was gonna run, but woke up sick so he just walked. The other three did great though! They walked/ran and made it somewhere around 46 minutes! Hubby crossed around 47 minutes and Darla made it at 49!! Of course there was some seconds involved but I can't remember what they were , only mine LOL!

I wish I had some pictures of me running but everyone there with me was behind me I had to do the whole thing on my own but I am good with that! LOL The first and last pictures are after the race. The two in the middle are before the race. Oh and just in case you were all wondering, the pic of all five of us is in order from left to right, me and hubby (30), my oldest niece Kristi (17), my friend Darla(28), and my niece Ashley (15).

I can't believe after all this I forgot to mention that my weight today was actually down 0.2!! After all my whinning and stressing out it ended up being down after all! I don't know how but I am happy with it LOL!

Oh Shawntel, thank you so much for checking on me!!! I added this later so I figured I would post it here for you too.

In case you were wondering, the top picture with all five of us is in order from left to right, me (29) and hubby (30), my oldest niece Kristi (17), my friend Darla(28), and my niece Ashley (15).

HAHA do you like how the hair in the before and after pictures is so different lol. The wind blew my hair all over the place! My eyes were watering pretty good too lol.

Enjoy your time with your brother!

    Soss~
I go to my appointments once a month, too! Some people on this site go weekly. I would probably hate that. I, too, have a good little commute up the interstate about 45 minutes to another city to get to mine. Luckily, once I get there, the office is about 1/4 mile away, so I don't have to deal with the SUV soccer mom you described, which had me rolling on the floor laughing, BTW- because it was SSSOOOOO accurate! LOL! I could picture it in my head! Thanks for the laugh!

    Maria~
Yep- talked myself right into that 5K, didn't I?????? (Thought bubble- "OMG! What have I done?!!!") LOL! Just kidding- I'm pretty psyched about it! I'm gonna ask my hubby to do it with me (don't know if he WILL...but, gonna ask). Anyway, I laughed- and was SSSOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!!- when you said you didn't have any pics. of you running cuz all your buds were BEHIND YOU!!! LOL!!! Did it again- I just laughed! I am so thrilled for you- way to go, girlfriend!!! That's gotta make you happy! I am glad that you didn't let anyone hold you back- glad that you ran and finished the race at your own pace, whether walking or running, so you'd feel good about your own performance, knowing that you put everything you had into it! Good for you, Maria! All right, I'm all psyched again- I gotta find a race around here- just gotta! Thanks for the inspiration! Oh, BTW- are you very sore today? I just wanna know what to expect (OBVIOUSLY I've never run a race B4!)...

    Shawntel~
Hope your day was not to difficult and emotional, sweetheart. I know you were with your bro yesterday, going to get some of his things B4 he leaves. Man, you 2 are SSSOOOo lucky to have each other and to have such a wonderful, strong relationship! And, you're right- Maria looks AMAZING, doesn't she?

Hiked 6-7 miles (maybe more!) in the mountains yesterday! YAY! It took over 4 hours, but was awesome! We came upon 3 does feeding and they just stared at us- didn't even run away! I was thinking, "Boy! Too bad I don't have my bow!" LOL! Yes, I AM a deer hunter, ladies! But I'm kidding about shooting them yesterday- they're NOT in season now! HAHAHAHA! Anyway, if it was pretty today, we'd go hike some more, but it's chilly and overcast- supposed to rain- so we're gonna go to the gym and do abs and an hour of cardio. Hoping to get a good elliptical for my hour long date! LOL!
