    Yeah..being a slow loser is the pits. When I was younger it still took me 6 a year to lose 40lbs. I mean I REALLY worked at it. I would lose like 15lbs the first month then it would slow down to 3-5 a month. The last weight loss haul I did It took me 4 months to lose 20lbs. I was 165 and got down to 145. IT TOOK FOREVER. My doctor tested my thyroid and found nothing wrong. She just said "some lose slower than others. It will just take longer for you" That was so hard cause I would walk/ run EVERYDAY and restrict my eating to small meals during the day and them a meal with carbs for my runs. I kept it off...then I got pregnant. Now it's nearly impossible. I was 198 after the baby due to preeclampsia. Anyways, doctor took pity on me and finally fave me Phen. I know we will all reach our goals, it's just gonna take a bit longer.

    Thumbs up Dr Visit today

    Saw my Dr today for a B/P and heart and lung check up. My B/P is 110/80 and my lungs and heart sound great! So,no problems. Feeling much better on the Phentermine 37.5. It's actually helping more. His scale is full of crap however It says I only lost 2 lbs. I go by my scale anyhow butt naked in the am. I am 5.5 lbs lighter on mine. So far so good.

    I weigh myself nude in the morning too lol! I think I will start switching to nights so I will work harder.

    Default 2nd week weigh in

    I weigh myself in my birthday suit in the a.m. as well! It seems like it keeps me motivated for the whole day that way if I am down. The down side is that if I am not down, I sometimes tend to have a slip up in diet or I don't feel as motivated to exercise.

    So this is my second week on Phen and B12/MIC injections (I do the injections twice weekly), and I have lost 12 pounds! I am very excited - no one seems to have noticed any difference as far as coworkers or friends...at least no one has said they have, but I can feel my clothes fitting much better and I am not feeling as "jiggly" when I walk.

    My motivation: I purchased a photography package from a really great photographer to do a shoot with my family. I would love to reach my goal weight come summer so that I actually want to be in a family photograph!

    Hey ladies,

    I just wanted to get a new post in this thread to see how everyone has continued to do. I am going to be going on week 3 tomorrow. As of Monday, I hadn't lost anything - but everything is starting to feel firmer. One pair of pants I had that were really tight now have some extra fabric in the leg area, so I know things are slimming down/may be turning to muscle - even if the scale doesn't reflect it this week - I am weighing in officially tomorrow.

    Again, would love to hear updates from all those participating in thread or wanting to join in!

    I'm gonna be honest, I have had my refill and have not taken one (she gives me 15 pills so I can take half a day for 30 days). I will start them tomorrow. I have 15 days until my followup appointment, that gives me a chance to take a whole 37.5mg instead of the half. I know my doctor wants me to only take half a day, but I am going to take half in the morning and half in the evening. I have NO MEDICAL reason for being prescribed half, she says that's HER STANDARD DOSING FOR EVERYONE..... Makes no sense to me. For instance, it takes my mom 1 200mg Advil to stop a headache, it takes me 4 200mg Advil to do the same thing. Dosing should be given case by case...sigh. She just won't listen to me .

    I know it's probably not a good idea to do my own dosing, but the FACT is that the half of a 37.5mg was doing NOTHING! I will take it slow of course and like I said above I will do half in the morning....half in the evening. I will update you all to let you know how it works out.

    I agree with you - my weightloss doc told me to take a half pill for a week or so. I did it for 4 days and then I went to a full pill after I saw I was in the minority of people taking it. It has helped me much more on the full dosage than the half. I was glad I did it gradually, though, cause I was like the energizer bunny the first 2 days!

    Okay, I have been taking a little more than half in the morning, and then the other part of the pill in the evening. It has been today is day 2 and low and behold I am down 4lbs already! I feel great and no side effects other than insomnia. My heart is fine, head is fine, and I have the MUCH needed energy I seemed to never have since the baby. I want to go for yet another walk once my husband gets home.

    I wonder what my doctor will say when I tell her, I am sure she will take me off of them, so oh well. I will just try to lose as much as I can for the next two weeks. Sigh...this really upsets me. Maybe I will just ease off the weight lose, get my next refill, then have a full months worth. I just feel so sneaky...I really shouldn't have to do this, my doctor should hear my concerns with an open mind and help me according to my needs, and not suggest "try Weight Watchers of hypnosis"....umm doc, we just had a baby...who has money for prepackaged food and for some quack to tell me "You are getting sleepy...now don't eat donuts" .

    SweetJas - Please update us on what the doc says. I mean, most of the people on this forum are taking the whole pill. Otherwise, I have seen some people do every other day too. You shouldn't have to feel bad about what is working for you - so I hope the doc will see it your way!

    I had a lame-o week last week being out of town for 4 days and having to eat out much more. I am hoping to make up this week and I worked my butt off at the gym last night. If the elliptical is accurate, I burned 640 calories in the time I usually burn 500 or so. Yes, I looked like a madwoman on that thing - hair coming out of my ponytail everywhere and sweat coming through my workout clothes. And I didn't even care!

    HERWEIGHTLOSS- That feeling of sweat from working out feels so good doesn't it lol! I know, I shouldn't feel bad. However, I feel sneaky about self dosing. I would not do this, but I just need help controlling my appitite and the boost to workout! If I could do it on my own I wouldn't even have found this site, ever tried any diet, or asked for a prescription on phen. I am taking it slow. I have to say, I am down ANOTHER 2lbs ! I have the energy that seems to have oozed out my toes once I had my baby and I can control what I eat! Isn't that the purpose of the meds....I wish my doctor had a clue .

    I have to say, I would not suggest anyone do this. The only reason I did is because my EKG was "very good" according to my doctor and I have had no side effects. If I even feel ONE irregular heart beat I am done with Phen period!! I won't even take the half pill.

    I will keep you all posted! I see my doctor on the 3rd. Either she will see it my way or take me off the pills. We shall see....!

    Sweetjas - exactly! So much more energy. Before I got on Phen I was often falling asleep at 8:30/just as I put my kids down. Now I go to the gym after I put them to bed! Love that I have enough energy to make it there now. It looks like the majority of people on this site are taking the whole pill to get the full effect as well - so it can't be too dangerous - your doc gave you an EKG? Maybe it makes a difference if you go to a regular physcian vs. a weight loss doctor. At the weight loss clinic, my doctor had me watch a video, weighed me, checked BMI and heart rate, and then gave me a list of meds...basically like "What do you want to order?"

    I am going back for my 4-week check-up and I am nervous. I hate getting weighed at the end of the day and my appt. is at 5:15. Just got to get it over with though!

    Went in to weigh in yesterday with my doc for the first time and I was nervous b/c it was at 5:15 pm and I like to weigh myself in the a.m. I was happy to see I was down to 151 - so 14 pounds lost for my first month! I have never been able to lose this much weight in this time period. I hate that I had one bad week when I was out of town, but even so, I am happy with the overall result. I was also down 2 percent on my BMI!

    herweightloss : congrats On the weight loss. I just started Phen today 3/25 and I weigh about the same amount 150lbs and I am trying to get to 110lbs for my weight my DR. said that is a good healthy weight. So I ready the stories here and am encourage on the journey I'm about to take. I keep everyone posting on my first week if I lost anything. I am pretty active in the gym and in my diet so hopefully I get results like everyone on here.

    I can't get the motivation to exercise... I have the energy, but I just want to clean all of the time. I am trying to walk in the evenings but the weather has been crappy this week... Anyone else having a hard time with exercise?

    mezcentric - thanks for the kudos! Good luck with starting your journey. If your doc wants you to get to 110, that makes me curious as to how tall you are - 110 is pretty light. I think the lowest I have weighed in college as a size 4 was 118-120 pounds. I was 5'5'' and I got comments on how skinny I was all the time. I wouldn't mind getting down to 125, but I thought I would shoot for the 135 and see how it goes first.

    MommaBear - What I have run into is that the first 20 minutes of exercising are a pain, and then after I push through that I am good to go for another 40 minutes. My doc told me that a lot of his patients don't exercise, which is why he recommends they just stick to an ultra-low calorie diet then while on the phen and not exercising and you will still lose weight. Of course, you don't gain muscle that way, but you do lose weight. Ideally, he recommends the exercise while on phen, but I ran into the problem of restricting my calories too much while working out really hard....which caused me to stop losing weight for a bit too. He said that if you are working out really hard, then eat a few more calories to help your body out. That got me thinking...I could stop working out and just eat less to lose weight! I want to be toned, though, so on the days I work out I am eating more calories than the days I don't.

    Yes, she gave me an EKG, BMI (she was so kind...she wouldn't say Obese, she just said "Yeah, you've reached the mark, but you don't have much to go to get out of it ", checked vitals, weight, and drew blood to check my thyroid. I went through all that to get half of pills lol! If she cuts me off then I may just go to a weight loss clinic, but I will tell her that I am on the pills. I would like her to see that the same dose does not work for everyone, and that a higher mg is more effective for some.

    herweightloss: I know that is low.. But I'm 4'11 1/2 I say 5'0. But for being so tiny He said that is a good weight to be in. 105-115. I just picked right in the middle.

    That makes sense then. I am always surprised in how a few inches in height can equal so much in weight, you know? Keep us posted on your progress!

    I take my first pill after my morning workout at 9:30

    My next pill is at 3:30 so I can fall asleep at night

    I had an excercise slump before. I watch FitTV and do whatever is on there for an hour (2 mile walk, kardioke, belly dancing..). It's exciting to have something new to do every day. If I don't do that I pop in my Denise Richards palates tape, then do my old faithful Redbook 1-2-3 video cause I know it by heart.

    The best thing to get myself out of a slump is to update your ipod or music player with new music a few times a month. Think of music that takes you to a happy place...the best times of your life...best memories, so you can focus on what is in your head and go some place else. I then hop on the treadmill for an hour and zone away !

    I get up early, so I usually take my pill by 7:30 am at the latest. Then I started hearing about everyone halving their pills and taking it twice. I did that and it was nice b/c I did notice a burst of energy in the a.m. and then in the afternoon. I still take my first half of a pill first thing, and then my afternoon time has varied - anywhere from noon to 3 p.m. When I took it at three, I did notice I couldn't sleep as well that night....then again I go work out after my kids are sleeping and I come back wired at night!

    I started on 15mg dosage of phentermine about 3 months ago -- last month he bumped me up to 30mg and this month is my last month of taking it. I am doing really well with my workouts (yoga, pilates and doing some cardio 5 days a week). My doc really spoke to me about watching my diet and cutting back on little things -- those little things really do add up. Writing down what I eat is most important. I started at 160 and now I am 150. I hope to get down to 145. I am 5'7, so the doc will not let me stay on it now that I am in the acceptable range. Wish me luck!!! I think the lifestyle changes I have made will help me keep the weight off and who knows, keep losing!

    Hi Every1,

    This is my 4th day on Phen 30. once per day and I feel great. The only side effect is dry mouth. I have a boost of energy and a happy feeling( that could just be in my head tho...lol)

    Just a little history on me. I use to weigh 308lbs about 6 years ago. I have lost 137lbs on my own w.o Phen( I didnt even knw it exist). I have gained about 15 of those lbs back over the past yr( never made it to my goal of 160). My husband had just came home from Iraq and I ate b.c i was just so happy( go figure).

    So, i went to the Dr and I told her that i wanted sumthing to help me stop thinking about food and she wrote a list of 3 meds and asked me to research which one i thought i'd like to try( too easy I thought). And here we are.

    I'm currently 185 @ 5"9. And I hope this Phen helps me get to my Goal. The last few lbs are so hard. The 137 was easy in comparison. I had alot more determination and was extremely strict on myself. And now i eat whatever I want (not like a glut, but still too much).

    Im happy to hear every1's success stories and i hope to join u all. I weigh this Sat a.m

    Am I understanding your post right. You started at 160 3 months ago and you're now 150. You lost 10lbs in three months....is that correct?

    I think I have heard of load days referred to in posts where people are doing the HGC diet. There is a thread on here about that diet - sounds like people are losing weight on that fast, but it is not for me - I am a vegetarian and I think you have to eat quite a bit of meat.

    How is everyone doing? I am weighing in tomorrow (Thursday), so I will post my weekly results. I am really trying to overcome my couple week standstill that I have had and get under the 150lb mark!

    Hi guys,

    I'm so tired of feeling "FAT" so I decided to give Phen a try. I was familiar with it because I worked for a bariatric DR. and tried it once in the past but I was at a great weight back then so I decided that it wasn't necessary. I started Phen last week and have lost about four pounds. I'm happy with any weight loss! I worked out with a trainer last year and had a pretty healthy diet but I cannot get my weight down since my third child no matter what I seem to do.
    My goal is to be down 20 pounds by July 1. I take half of 37.5 in the am. I'm doing Pilates twice a week and walking. I try to remind my self to eat. I'm eating a lot of nuts, greens and fruit and loads of water to combat this dry mouth. I'm very happy to find this forum for support. I really want to resolve my weight issues for good!     Default Under 150 mark - finally!

    my3sons - Good luck with your journey. I am sure you will be able to reach your goal by July! Welcome!

    So I finally broke through my plateau! It has been so nice - it is much more motivating when you finally see that scale move, you know? My clothes are fitting much better and I am back into a comfortable size 8. There is some room in there now, which makes me very happy!

    Just checking in to see how everyone is doing - I am not sure if this thread has died or not.

    I weighed in today and the scale was slightly over the 146 mark. I am counting it as two pounds for the week for my own sanity, though! I am hoping next week will have me at 145 or lower so that I can officially be 10 pounds away from my goal, with 20 pounds lost.

    I really really really hate to say this, but I've given up on Phen. The 1/2 of a 37.5mg pill was just not helping and my doctor would not give me a higher dose (37.5mg a day) even though I told her I was taking a higher amount. She prescribed me Welbutrin cause she said what I did was "extreme"...really ? I told her last summer I took 2 Benedryl instead of one and if she tought that was extreme I take 3 Advil at once (only equals 600 mil and she has prescribed me 800mgs before). I was just being a smart butt to her cause she was getting on my nerves.

    Anyways, I went straight to membership services and switched doctors. I did not like being called "crazy or extreme" because I took the AVERAGE DOES of medication. I am in perfect heath according to the many tests she gave me, I just think it's a control thing for her to "give everyone half of a 37.5mg a day no matter how much weight they have to lose". If I was taking 2 pills or more a day then that's extreme..but I was taking ONE 37.5mg pill A DAY. I have truly given up.

    I started at 156, goal of 130. I've lost almost 10lbs in three weeks and I'm happy about that number, its sustainable after I go off the meds. I work out 5 days a week 30-45 minutes of hard core HIIT on the elliptical. I'm active on the weekends as well, but not at the gym.
    I eat around 1400-1500 calories a day and burn at least 400 a day so I'm netting around 1100. Perfect for slow, steady weight loss. This pill isn't magic, but it makes me able to eat so little and not kill anyone. LOL
    Oh, Im on PhenD 37.5mg a day.
    4/17/10 = 156
    4/24/10= 153
    5/1/10=149
    5/21/10 = 145
    6/21/10 = 140

    REWARD 1: 140lbs I get to start horseback riding again GOAL REACHED!
    Reward 2: 130lbs I get to go BLONDE!
