Wow, guess I missed this one!! First of all, there's no reason to come on here with such a attitude, second of all I don't have to post my dr name nor do I feel there would b a reason to?!?! I mean what, u wanna call my dr to b sure I'm just not CLAIMING he gave me this plan?!?' I have NO reason to lie, nor would I lie about such a thing, I mean seriously how would that benifit me? I just got this from my dr and thought I would share! Plain and simple! Also for ur info I'm not on phen and haven't been for the last year,I have been very successful with losing over 120 pounds and keeping it off! Sooo I'm always up to trying new things and sharing new things with my friends here that I think may help them! And there has been several people here who have lost a lot of weight from this plan rather it's the mayo plan or not! I didn't go researching it when I got it from the dr, I felt no need to! It's been working great for me and that's all that mattersAs stated many times what works for some, doesn't always work for others!!! My only intention when I posted this was to help others. Not to try to discourage or cause alot of drama! Or CLAIM my dr gave me something just for the heck of it! I have been on this forum over a year and my only purpose at this point is to b able to support, motivate and inspire others as they did me when I first started! I want all my friends to b as successful and happy as I am today! Sorry If I offended anyone with this post but I really felt the need to reply to this as I feel things could have been said a little nicer, we r all adults here, so why come on having such bitter attitudes when we disagree or don't like someone else post!!!

Hey good luck on starting this plan tommorow, I'm getting backon track today also so hears to us losing big this week! This plan really does work and I have done very well on it! So has others! It does get a little boring after a while but like some of the others I try to mix things up a little and it doesn't really effect me at all! The way I see it, I no if my weight gets outta control
I can always rely on this plan to get back on track! It's really easy to follow and a quick way for me to get my weight back down!!! Good luck and let us no how u do!!! Taz

Ahh this happens to me also lol and. Usually I give in and have some peanuts or almonds or some jello or cool whip with sugar free choc syrup and to my surprise it really doesn't effect my weight much at all! Sooo yea I say just have a little something that ur craving and that way u r satisfied and can jump back on track! Taz
Wow losing 8 pounds ur first week is awesome!! I do agree with u on getting tired of chicken and salad haha that's the hardest part of this plan for me! I been having beef stew meat and pork chops, and stuff like this to mix things up and it has been working well! So yea I say try some different things and see what happens! I even been eating apples ahd some peanut butter lately and still lost! May not lose as much as I would without modifying the plan but hey a loss is a loss and I will take it

Ok looks like I might be the only guy on here, oh well. I have been on the plan since Feb. 15th & I have lost 17lbs. I come on here to read how everyone is doing. I am VERY EXCITED with the out come so far. My wife started with me but after a day without sweets she caved. But she does support me 100%. Good luck everyone... Thanks TAZ

For the bedtime snack, I don't like tomato juice or skim milk. Do I have to drink either OR can I substitute it for maybe a glass of grapefruit juice instead?

Lately, I've been having a hard time tracking and planning meals which leads to poor eating. So, I usually end put eating out of convenience - like McDonald's. The meal planning has become very boring and I really hate writing down everything.
I had some time yesterday and I came across this thread. At first I was skeptical but it looked very doable. So, I decided to start on Monday (3/15) but after reading it on the way home, I decided that there was no reason for me not to start today. So, last night I made a trip to the store, bought some grapefruit juice, bacon, salad mix and some chicken and started today. I remembered my Grandmother drinking a glass of grapefruit juice every day - and that's when it clicked.
The first day has been relatively easy since I don't have to think about what to eat.
And since I HATE writing down everything, I also came across "nutrimirror.com". It has a food log which is very easy. You can set custom menus, customize recipes for their calorie count, track exercise, track water intake and a bunch of other stuff, just like other similar sites. I was using Fitday.com but I didn't like it. I entered each meal of this plan under My Food Log and all I do is select the meal and my food diary is done for the day. That just makes it much easier for me to track my meals.
Thanks again and I'll let post again on Day 5 (3/15). I'm looking forward to getting rid of 5 more pounds.

Okay Taz, first off, you're an amazing inspiration and I love the way you respond to almost everyone and keep up with everyones progress while letting them know yours as well. It just shows that you have a genuine love for people whether you know them personally or not. SO KUDOS TO YOU!!!!!
Secondly, this sounds so amazing and I'm so glad I found this post. I saw curvygirl suggest it to someone else and thought I'd look for myself. Now the reason I think this will work for me is I already eat salad with chicken everyday. My question is, I like craisins, cucumbers and strawberries in my salad. Are these things okay? (anyone can answer). I really think I can do this even if I cant do it for the 2 weeks. I noticed on a website it said if you don't like coffee or tea you can just drink water. Is that what anyone else has done. I like tea but only the lemon zinger kind and i'm sure that's not allowed. But I can do the water with no problem. Please let me know as soon as possible today, someone because I just went grocery shopping and found my bacon on sale 4 for $10.00 so I'm ready to start in the morning. Now one more question: is it that you can't snack in between meals? like what I normally do is eat an apple or cantaloupe between my snacks because my doc told me to eat 5 times a day, breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, then dinner. Please help me because I'm super geeked and ready to go. Like tomorrow!

I no how ur wife feels about craving sweets cause I started craving sweets to so I had some cool whip with sugar free choc syrup in it and it didn't really mess me up! I'm soooooo getting back on track Monday! It's been a crazy last coulple weeks! I'm working on my DVD I will b finishing up here soon!! I'm soooo super excited!!! It will b of my whole entire weight loss journey

I no the plan says not to skip any of the foods but however I stopped drinking the milk n tomato juice and I had no problem losing weight soo yea u will b fine if u don't want to have the snack! I just never could do the snack cause I wasn't hungry at all! I love this plan I eat well and never really got hungry in between meals! Goood luck and keep us posted on how u do)) taz

Ok on the salad u can put cucumbers on ur salad! Ur not really supposed to Have strawberrys tho! On ur two days off u can tho! On snacking in betweeen meals I really don't think it would hurt much if u wanted to have like cucumbers or other allowed veggies inbeteeen meals, I kinda played around with things and it never really hurt me that much ! Long as ur eating the foods allowed! U can drink any kind of tea u want pretty much! And if u don't want tea u can just drink water! That's all I ever drank! Wow u got a good deal on that bacon! After reading everyones post, I'm in! I am excited to start and lose some weight. I hope it works, it sounds similar like a diet i've tried before and I lost 40lbs in 2 months back then. I was on Phen for a month last September and lost about 10lbs on it but since the holidays (starting November) I have went back to my old ways and bad eating habits. I really need to get a handle on my weight. I started phen yesterday so I hope that in combination with this I will start losing again. I think doing this will at the least get me on track to moniter what I'm eating better.

I did this diet when I was 18 years old and it does work! I lost 55lbs in 3 months!
I'm doing the diet, but not the phen. ( it makes me &$#@!) So anyway I need to do some cardio. I can't get motivated to it. Any suggestions? I would be doing alot better if I could just start...

I wanted to update my progress. I started on 3/10.
I really enjoy the breakfast because I stay full until lunch. I can't really handle milk so I changed it to Greek Yogurt w/honey - that satisfies my sweet tooth and I get my calcium.
I haven't weighed myself but I've noticed my clothes have really loosened up. I purchased some pants from Avenue online and had to send them back because they were to big. :-)
I lasted until 3/19 because that weekend I went to a 70's birthday party and didn't get to bed until 7 am on Sunday and didn't get home until late Sunday night. By the time I got home, my boys (18 & 14) had eaten everything in site - so there went the chicken I had prepared for my lunches. I've been kinda winging it but sticking to the basic plan.
I've been working late these last few days so I haven't had the chance to go to the store. I've been following everything pretty closely and even though I was getting bored, salad and chicken seems to be the only thing I want to eat. I stay away from fruit because the grapefruit juice works for me and I love veggies - so I just need to change things up.
I plan to go to the store tonight and grill a bunch of chicken, get a bunch of eggs, bacon, salad mix and Greek yogurt. My food bill has gone down a little but I need to keep changing up the protein so I don't get bored.
I see my dr on 4/3 so I'll keep you posted. I refuse to weight myself before then. I'll just concentrate on this plan, drinking the water and exercising.
Thanks for updating Curvygirl! It's nice to hear how someone is doing on this plan. I hadn't even thought about replacing the milk with yogurt! I think I will do that also...I was just going to skip the evening snack but having some yogurt sounds way better!I really have a hard time losing weight and usually get stuck after 10 lbs of loss so I am really hoping I can stick it out if that happens again! Soready - The first 30 pounds or so took about 4 months to lose - I was on phen and a diet my doctor gave me. It was 1200 calories, well balanced, lots of fruits, vegetables and proteins, but also with carbs and dairy. I also exercised all. The. Time. The rest of the weight loss was from doing HCG. I'm hopeful that this will get good results, because I really am enjoying the food!
One of the things I did was take pictures of myself every month - from the front, side and back. After a few months I could see a huge difference, and that helped keep me motivated. For me, the first few weeks were easy because I was excited and ready to go, but after the weight loss started to slow down, I really needed to see the pictures to know that I was still making progress. Of course all the pictures are on my computer and encrypted - TWICE! hahaha, No one needs to see me looking all rolly polly in a bra and panties!

I am doing pretty well on this plan. I slipped up last night though...I had an evening class and waited until afterwards to eat. Wrong! I came home and ate a bowl of potato chips with hot sauce for my dinner! I had lettuce, but none of the precut and I was hungry so made an impulse choice! That's how I got where I'm at now, right? So, I have decided to make sure I don't run out of any of the food I need to make this plan easy to follow...even if it means I am too impatient to cut my own lettuce! Lol
I tried the HCG diet once. I stuck to it like glue and only lost 3 pounds in three weeks and I was going and paying for the shots! My friend cheated all the time and was losing like 8 pounds a week! I was so discouraged! I need to accept that I am not going to lose quickly and jsut do whatever I can to get my metabolism doing it's job!
Maybe I will try the picture thing. I know some people say they measure, but I don't know if I trust myself to measure in the same spot every time! Thanks for your story and the inspiration!![]()
