Welcome Colleen! Congrats on losing 17 pounds so far that's awesome! This is a great plan to follow we r all losing pretty steady! It's kinda like the low carb high protein plan, the grapefruit r awesome and starts the burning process! It's like u can eat so good u feel like ur cheating! And i never get hungry in between meals either! Goood luck and keep us posted when u start!! Taz

Haha yessss that's just how I felt tonight when I got off that treadmill to! Omg but I feel so good and have so much energy I'm gonna clean my house before I go to bed lol!!! Ohhh and my sister was down 10 ozs this morning and my sister n law was down 1.4!!! They were happpy!!! Taz

Wow u do alot of exercise girl!! Two hours straight on the treadmill? Wow that's a long time!! I'm hoping now that I'm starting to walk dailey my weight loss will b more to! I would love to b losing a pound a day! That's unbelieveable! I'm jealous hehe ur prob going to lose way more then 10 pounds in 12 days! What type of meat r u having? And what kind of dressing do u use? I gotta get some of ur ideas lol since ur kicking butt! Well guess I better use some of this energy and clean up my house! Good Morning Girls...
Well...down another pd.!! Yippee!!..My boyfriend and I took off yesterday at the last minute and we are now in Cherokee N.C. at Harrah's Casino..staying in the hotel...we come here very often..it's our get away..I won't boreyou with details...but I have major stress going on right now..My oldest daughter and I are going to court Tuesday to try and get custody of my 1 year-old grandson..we already have his sister..Madison..who is almost 5,my youngest daughter has never gotten her life together, so please keep us in your prayers!...this is alot of the reason I have packed on the pds..over the last few months..and I work for the Postal Service..MAJOR STRESS!!..

Default Omggggg day 7 and I'm down 6 pounds!!!! Woot woot!!

I'm sooooooo doing the happy dance this morning! I am down 1.5 woohooo!! That's a total loss of 6 pounds in 7 days this is soooooooo awesome!!! That walking did my body some good last nite and although my legs are major sore today and I have a huge dentist office and a house to clean I'm still going to work out tonight when I'm all done! I am soooo happy cause I'm only one pound away from the lowest weight I have ever seen on the scale since I have started this weight loss journey over a year ago!! I think i may see the numbers I'm hoping for by valentines day! Ok off to have my breakfast and ge t my day started)))) taz



Postal, I'm so sorry ur going thro alot right now, I will keep u in my prayers that everything works out and the court goes as well as it can! Congrats on another pound down! Ur doing awesome and this is the year for u! So don't let this stress get the best of u and throw u off track! U can do this!!! I'm still at the same weight but at least I didn't gain any. I'll eat good today and get back on the treadmill. I'll shoot for 40 minutes today and see if I can do it. When I walk I alternate between 2.5 -3.2 mph and a 5-10 incline. I'll work on staying more on the higher speeds and inclines to burn more.

This thread cracks me up! It takes me back. This was the first diet I did in high school when I thought I was fat and weighed 120 lbs! Oh what I wouldn't give to weigh that again.

No ur doing great really! Last summer I so could not walk this much at once I had to work it up slowly! I usually go speed of 3.5-3.8 and I slowly increase the incline! I was so proud of myself last nite tho' I'm gonna go again tonight to, I'm not sure how long I will last I think I pulled a muscle behind my right knee it hurts when I walk' but I'm going to try my best! Cause I wNf to see the scale go down at least a pound tommoriw to this morning was a huge surprise to me since I had only been losing ozs lately!!! Soooooo I'm gonna take me a quick nap then head off to gym! I always try to eat dinner before the gym that way I burn off all my calories! I'm happy u didn't gain today, just eat all ur food and do some walking tonight and I bet u will b down in morning)))))) taz

Haha I no, when I think back on my younger days I thought I was so fat it's crazy! What I would give to go back in time soooo how much weight did u lose Back then on this plan, ? Did u do it two months if so did u continue losing pretty well? And was u able to keep it off? Sorry so many questions just trying to no what to expect lol! So far I'm doing awesome lost 6 pounds in 7 days and it's for sure this plan cause I'm not on phen or anything else! I'm sticking with it until I'm to goal or until I stop losing! There is a bottle of wine in the fridge and a frozen pizza in the freezer that about all the temptation ive got. If I do give in I will have 1 glass of wine.

Yea ur in onderland sooooo gotta work hard to stay here I stressed out until I was like ten pounds from 200 lol then worked hard to get further n further away from it!!! I never want to see those numbers again ever!!! Ok b gooooood and u will b sooooo happy in the morning when u see 197 or less)) I have 5 more days until my two day break and I have decided i'm gonna eat the same except I'm gonna treat myself to some sugar free choc pudding and some cool whip! Gosh, I don't remember....I lasted maybe a week on it. I'm 33 years old, so high school was a long time ago.

Good luck!!! I hope you lose really well on it.

Good morning ladies

Well I am finally feeling better now that the meds have kicked in and can eat solid food. This morning I started this plan, I had 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 turkey bacon and 1/2 grapefruit. I hope I was only supposed to eat 1/2 cuz I am stuffed! I hope I have super amazing results like all of you this week!

I read this thread on Friday, not sure how I missed it before.

Taz you are awesome, and I love your enthusiasm, comments, advice, etc.

However I admit, even though I trust you, this sounds way too good to be true.

I have been giving this a lot of thought. I have never ever been on a "diet" before. I have tried to (I think mostly successfully) make changes that were long lasting and permanent.

Mayo Clinic is a real place, I've passed by it on the highway before. So I did a little bit of searching and I found that the Mayo Clinic Diet is also real. However I didn't find a lot of information on what the diet consisted of.

I read on their website that the "diet" itself is really two parts, one is for losing weight and the other is for maintaining. The maintaining part is supposed to be the healthy habits you keep for a lifetime. This seems to fit with my way of thinking, and I am Ok with the idea that I may eat differently for a while to lose weight, as long as I can maintain it later. (That's my real issue with "diets" is they are too strict you could never keep it up, and end up gaining it back.)

So I found out they have a book. On amazon I think it was $15, which seems reasonable to me. I have decided to purchase this book and read it before doing this diet. I didn't see anyone else mention reading this book. So I plan to report back and let you know if it is worth getting or not. I will also share anything that I find really interesting or important in the book. (tips, etc)

So bug me if you don't hear back from me. I know I have a lot of questions about what is and what isn't allowed on the diet myself. I am hoping this book can help explain to me why these combinations are supposed to work and also have some other options. (I really don't think I can eat bacon every day for example.)

If I order it today, I should get it within a few days and hopefully I'll have read up enough on it to start this weekend.

I am inspired by all of the progress I have read on here already regarding this.

I do thank you Taz for sharing this with everyone because I have not heard about it before.

I just feel I need a little more education before starting, and hopefully I can help others at the same time.

So I just got caught up on all the posts!! My internet was down this weekend and yesterday at work I was sooo busy I just didnt have time to post. Well I must admit I f'd up on the diet this weekend. I did good yesterday until dinner soo I'm starting over today This diet is easy and it works!!

Congrats to everyone on their weight loss so far!! I know we can all do this!!

Hey everyone, I been having a very busy two days, trying to get my house all cleaned up! Going to see the plastic surgeon tommorow, hoping to hear some good news! I been going to the gym every nite still tonight will b my fourth day in row I feel much better since I been making an effort to work out! I'm not sure about my loss cause i haven't weighed in for two days now and planning on staying away from the scale until my Tom comes and leaves! It's like 7 days late so I'm feeling pretty crappy! I'm still on the plan doing pretty well except yesterday I had a little bit of cool whip lol had a bad craving for sweets! I don't think it will hurt me that bad tho! I'm on day 9 now so friday ahd Saturday will b my two days off that works out just fine for valentines day just in case I wanna splurge haha! AnywAys hope u all are doing well and still losing big())?taz


Hopefulheather::::::: I totally respect ur wanting to do more research on the plan it will b very interesting to no what all u learn from the book!!! Hey girl don't worry about slipping up I did to yesterday I had some cool whip with sugar free choc syrup! It was yummy tho and I really needed some sweets! Ur back on Track today so that's what counts!!!! Goood luck girl!!! Taz

I had an off day yesterday too...not with the diet but with the cardio. I didn't walk yesterday at all! Bad...I know. I did walk 30 minuted this morning though and I'm going to walk another 30 minutes here in a little bit to make up for it. I got on the scale this morning and it said that I'd gained 2 lbs! I wasn't happy about that until about an hour later when I went to the bathroom and I figured out why I was 2 lbs heavier. TMI I know but We have ALL been there I think. LOL

Haha yea it's amazing what going to the bathroom can do lol!! Well today is day 4 and I been hitting the gym every nite! I'm sooo proud of myself cause some nites has been hard for me to get in that cold car and drive there but I did! Soooo tonight I went and did ellipical I was on it 75 mins and done 5 mles and burned 613 calories! Sooo looks like I burned that cool whip off! I will prob eat two Bowls of that stuff when I have my two days off it's jus so good better then ice cream glad ur still hanging in there! I'm still doing well sticking to plan also! Try to mix my meats up cause I get tired of chicken but it's like I lose more when I eat chicken.) hey do u no if green beans r allowed? They r green veggies but wasn't on my list! Those would b good if so!!!! Well keep doing ur workouts! We r doing great and we all need a break every now and then! R u gonna workout 5 days Week and take 2 days off? Let me no!!!! Taz

Unfortunately I have to take about a week off from the walking. I had a cyst removed from a delicate area today and walking will keep it from healing properly. I also needed a "treat" after having that done so I went to McDonalds. Bad I know but it was good for my well being at the moment. LOL Maybe I can try to do some sit ups or something like that while I'm on walking restriction. If anyone has any ideas for me please let me know! I'll be right back on my diet in the morning. Hopefully this doesn't screw me up TOO badly.

Sce. Hope u get Better soon, don't worry bout the mcdonalds lol u needed a break I'm also taking a break from the gym a couple days or longer, hubby n I are so sick right Now, the dr called us in some meds! Plus after being 11 days late my Tom paid me a visit this morning! I'm actually really glad although I'm soooo miserably cramping! But I'm ready to get it over with so I can weigh myself and see where I am! I have been staying away from the darn scale cause I have felt sooo bloated and fat! I seen the plastic surgeon yesterday and my visit went very very well! Looks like I'm gonna get a brand new stomach soon as the insurance sees my pics and approves! The dr is very confident the insurance will cover this cause like he said it's not jus for cosmetic reasons my muscles all need repaired so I won't keep getting hernias every year! He saud if for some reason they do deny me he will appeal it. Sooooo looks like I'm on another waiting journey! Could take as long as 3-4 weeks! Or could b sooner! But anyways I'm gonna use this next 3-4 weeks to try my best to get to my target weight or close as possible to it! Cause when I have surgery they will prob take at least 5 pounds of fat off me haha I want to b close as I can to my target weight cause I want as much fat as possible taken off! It will b nice to take my before and after pics! I looked thro a book yesterday of some of his work and wow it was amazing! He's such a nice dr and everyone speaks highly of him! I will keep u posted and keep ur fingers crossed everything goes thro!!! As for my diet I'm staying on track pretty well! It's hard to stay away from my cool whip n choc syrup! I been wanting it for the last two days and it would b so good right now especially since I'm sick and have no desire for regular food my throat hurts so bad! But I'm not gonna give in cause I really want to get to goal! Ohhhh my sister bought the mayo diet and cookbook off amazon so she's gonna let me borrow the books whenshe reads them! Mayb I can share some good recipes or something! Today has just been a lazy day for me still paying imbed at noon trying to break my fever I am forcing myself to eat my meals tho! Hey everyone I know I havent updated here in a while. But were still on the plan. Ive lost 5.7lbs not too bad seeing as how TOM really stalled me. and hubby has lost 8lbs. He kinda splurged on Super bowl.

Not too bad for only 11 days! Im happy with it. Now hopefully I can get it moving down the way it was before the evil TOM was here.

I was skimming thru the posts and way to go everyone!

I think I might have been at a small plateau for a while when I was doing the 30day shred. My loss was measly if any at all so this has definitely helped get me going again.

The weather is clearing up here so I will be walking again. Im going to try for twice a day for at least 30 mins. Hopefully this will get me moving again.

Well Ladies...the McDonalds didn't hold me back.....I'm officially out of the 250s. I weighed in at 249 this morning! This is a big milestone for me since I haven't been under 250 in about 5 years! I'm SO excited about this!

Mscas, yayy I'm glad ur still on the plan and yr right that is a pretty good loss in 11 days! I been stuck lately to since my Tom was 11 days late but I started today so I'm hoping my weight is down when I weigh in again! Tom really sux!!!! I'm supposed to b off tommoriw and Saturday so that's exciting although I'm not sure I will even take off cause I'm worried I will really mess up! I mean ur prob tired of hearing this lol but all. Congrats Laura!!!

Taz- I say on one of your off days have some. Im gonna do some estimating here... 1/2c Regular coolwhip about 100 cals? 2Tbsp Light choco syrup 45 cals?

So 145 cals or less if you dont use as much syrup and Prolly less with low cal cool whip... I would do it. If your worried about it messing you up do some calorie shifting. Have less salad dressing, or something with less cals. Or something like that.

Thats how I usually do it. Since I count all my cals and carbs. When it comes to dinner time I know exactly how many cals and carbs I have let for the day so I make adjustments based on that. Hope that helps

so like I posted in the easter challenge i am no longer doing this diet, at least for a little while..it started to effect my bowels a little too much..lol..TMI I know..but thats y i started back to just watching my calories and ive been losing little by little each day which is good of course

Well, I can't lie about my disappointment in this book. I ordered it online and I got it yesterday. It is not at all what I thought it might be based on your thread Taz.

The book is basically a guide to healthy eating. The "Jumpstart" plan they have says you need to add 5 good habits, fix 5 bad habits and there are 5 bonus habits.

I don't have it with me at the moment, but I'll try to put down these habits later.

Basically I hoped it was going to detail what you should and shouldn't eat with food plans, but nope. It just gives the same 'ol boring lectures about portion control and moderation. Maybe it seems boring to me because I already follow most of it. I only skimmed it, so I'll have to give it some more time I guess to see if there is anything worthwhile in it.

Anyway I've been sort-of following the plan laid out in the first post. I was hoping for more details on what to eat and when and so on, but I hear a lot of progress in this thread, I think I'll take a bigger plunge in trying it. I know it seems like I've been losing too, so that's a good thing. I haven't been on the scale though. The feeling of losing is almost better for me, it gives me confidence that I can, and when I think I'm losing I actually do.

Not much to report here. I forgot to get on the scale this morning and before I knew it I had already had bfast. Hubby FINALLY agreed to let me take his measurements today tho. Im hoping when I take a break at dinner time Ill be able to get a walk in.

OHH I did substitute my protein at lunch these past few days for a protein shake, mostly bc everything around here is fast food and its hard to get a good salad that isnt loaded with fat and nuts when Im working 15 hours a day and running around the office like crazy! Ive had my salads for lunch... The package salad from the store but with a protein shake. Ill let you know if it messes me up or still works. I also noticed that with the shake my sweet craving has gone away!

This weekend is suppose to be our break time but Im not planning on really breaking from it. I did find out that hubby "cheated" when he was out on a call yesterday and today tho. He felt bad. It was cute. Ill post tomorrow what our weights are. or at least update my signature.
