Mornin All.
Right Im on 30 mg Phen since last Tuesday (2nd) and I was wondering how long u's all thought it would take to get out of ur system abit. I no that it does wear down but yesday I wasnt really feelin it no where near as much as I have been.. So Im takin a day off from it 2day and depending how my will power is 2mrw might then go back on it Friday.
Cos the weekends are my worst for eatin, as I have my 9yo Daughter home all day.
LOTS and LOTS of very strong coffee for me 2day. But sayin that I think I REALLY need a good nights sleep too to re-energise me up abit too.

in my experience, it takes about 16hrs to ware off. my 1st week on phen i took it 7days straight and because i work nites it messed my nap time up. i usually take one on certains before work especially if im up by 5am (which is my norm, idk y) but like for instance on a sunday i leave the house by 1130 to be to work at midnite. id take the pill at 10am before church eat on the way there. get home and lay down by 3 but wouldnt fall asleep at all. but by 6am or so im dying to stay awake lol so now i no longe take it on the weekends. but im not sure if thats for everyone, i knw for me it takes about that long. it kinda makes sense being that the avg person is up and working or carrying on with there day for about 14 to 16hrs and sleeping for 8. so the pill curbs your apetite for the time ur up and active. (just a guess)
Right I kinda put that question wrong then. I just ment as Iv been takin it for week its not at all like it was effect and appitite surpressin as it was so Im takin a day or 2 off so hopefully wen I take it again on the weekend I'll get that same strong effects like last week.
So my question was really, how long would it take for ur body to get it outa ur system so its not so "used" to it?. So wen u take it u can get that stronger feelin again.

Ok, glad I'm not the only one! I've been on phen since 2/1 & other than the dry mouth & funky taste in my mouth at times, I too feel great! I'm really liking the energy boost. I see that lots of people take B12 shots... I can't afford the shots so I'm going to take the B12 sublingual tabs. I hear those are cheaper. Anywho, thanks for the feedback. Take care![]()

Hey ya'll! Go Feb. Starters!!! I'm Nicole, I'm from Texas. And like they say: "everything in Texas is bigger... unfortunately that includes me! But no whining...I got my phen ** on 02/05/10 and started taking it yesterday 02/09/10. I am also following the Wonder-Slim diet which is the cheaper better tasting version of Medifast! I love it!!! I haven't started an exercise program yet, but will soon, probably just some basic cardio stuff. Any suggestions? My major goal for the month of February is to lose 20lbs...8 of that by VDAYI love that everyone here is so positive and cheerleader-esque! Much love to everyone... and I will be weighing in on Sunday 02/14/10...so look for my post!

I just wanted to say hello to everyone and that I am so amazed at how well everyone is doing. I stared phen Jan.19, 2010
I was 187 and I got in the scale and I have lost 7lbs. I was so depressed at first because of the weight gain. So much has happened in my life as far as having a new born baby that had open heart surgery at three weeks old. Thank God she is doing much better. She is such a joy to have right along with my 3 year old and 7 year old. I want to lose at least 60 lbs by Dec.31. I am a praying that God will all to reach the goals.

Congrats on the weight loss everyone! It has been a week since I started phen and I have not weighed myself. I feel better and some clothes are fitting better but honestly though I'm not going to get my hopes up. My doctor's appointment is next week so I think I can wait to get myself weighed there.
Redrose, I do think you should go to your MD but I am wondering if you are eating enough? I had very similar reactions one day and it was because I wasn't eating much. Good luck with your doctor's appointment and I hope you feel better soon!
So I guess I'm not the only one with dry mouth and icky taste!! My lips are all dry and crackly which is kinda gross so I am always armed with water, gum and my chapstick.
I have been exercising every day (except one day) for the last week. I do 45 minutes on the elliptical at about an incline of 11 and a resistance of 7. Do you guys think this is enough? I really don't have time for a lot of exercise but I feel like I should do more. Sorry for all the questions.

Iv not had any 2day and MAYBE 2mrw but I'll definatly get back on it for Friday and the weekend. Thats my busyiest time so will need the extra energy and as my daughters home all day so more chance of me munchin too, LoL.
Its like 8:45pm here and the Wii is screaming my name at me but I really cant be botherd, LoL. Iv really not got the energy at this time that I would have with the Phen. But I think I'll get on it n do sum of the fast free Step for awhile. So then I can still be a square eyes and watch the telly, haha LoL.
Its been nice not havin the dry mouth 2day but on the flip side not drunk near enough water. . But I supose if the Phen kicks in better and strong again Friday I'll make for it, LoL
So after talking to me MD i found out that i need to intake my water, i also have GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) which i am now going to be treated for. I am only 21 and have been though so much in my life. i hope i can make my weight loss goal of at least 125-130. Its a big emotional toll on me. i hate going to the mall because i know that i have to buy clothes that fit me i cant get anything that I like. So instead i end up not wanting to go to any type of store..

Good to know that you're taking care of yourself! You've already started to take control, which is such a huge step. One of my gf's at work was actually treated for depression while on Phen. The two together worked well for her. Just give it a little time, anti-anxiety medications are geared towards taking the 'edge' off. They take a bit of time to work, but I bet within a week or two you will be feeling so much better!
@Louise44 - Sounds like we both did good fighting the lazyness today! I procrastinated all morning about going for a walk. (tired, un-motivated, etc) My 4yr old must have got the right itch, because she began to bug me to g to the park. Needless to say I ended up walking around the track for 45min today. So I absolutely agree. If you can get over the initial 'hump' and just get up and do it, you really feel so much better afterward. Now I can relax this evening with the bf, and feel a bit more accomplished.![]()

HeY Eveyone.. what a difficult week especially with Valentines around the corner. My husband and I seperated this week and not swallowing my sorrow has been really difficult. After a huge arguement tonight I had to go grocery shopping and get dinner for myself. I haven't bought a meal for 1 in a long time.. anyway tears welled up in my eyes and the first thing I wanted was cake and icecream. Instead I bought a rotisserie chicken and some asparagus and called it a night. Im so ready to make the changes I need to because this has been a nasty habit of mine for quite some time.. binge eating when depressed. So i decided even though I love this man I have to love me just a little bit more for a change. Time to put me first and this includes my health because I have neglected this for quite some time. Why is it that caregivers take the best care of everyone else but themselves. Anyway hope you all have a great weekend and keep losing.. I am down 6 lbs this week!

Aaww, angie, I'm so sorry to hear that. I know that has to be extremely difficult whether its for the best or not. You get used to having the other person around, its a big adjustment. Your really pretty, you can be my valentine lol.
But on a good note, good job on losin 6 pounds!! I suprisingly lost another pound or two, I don't remember where I was before lol but I'm closer to my goal! I had started going down a tiny bit before the phen but now the phen has helped keep the weightloss constant. I was only a tiny bit overweight to start with but I was a good 30lbs more then I want to be. It was such a shocker to step on the wii this morning and hear it say "that's normal"!! I'm so excited but I think it'll be short lived because I just started my period today! And you know, that stupid wii had the nerve to sound mad that I was finally normal!?!
@angie261 - I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through tough times. I know exactly what you mean when you were talking about buying cake and ice cream! when me and the bf first got together we had a little trouble and every time an argument would surface... i would head right over to the nearest fast food spot! I totally eat like crazy whenever life gets hard! I guess it's a comfort thing. Food's always there when you need it, it seems.
But you are absolutely correct about loving yourself! When I was young and even up to this day... my mother always tells me 'amber lee, you have to love yourself. if you do not love yourself - no one else will.'
It really rings true and I've found it to be especially true when dealing with hard times in love. Love can make you blind and oblivious sometimes. I know that I would rather look at all the 'good things' rather than the bad. (and any of the bad things, I would blame on myself)
I don't know your exact situation; but if I were you, I would use this life issue as fuel. Relationships can take a toll on your self esteem, so this is the time to be extra strong and keep the drama out of the way of your new path!
Stick to it through thick and thin, and you have no where to go but down in weight and up in self esteem! ( kinda corny - but true ;D )

I also have about 90-100lbs to loose. Ive only been on Phen for about a week and have only lost about 5 pounds. I started going to the gym but I am upset because I thought I would be loosing more weight faster. WHat kind of exercise do you do?
Hello everyone! It has been so touching reading everyone's posts. I feel like I know some of you already.
Today is my FIRST day! I am excited and nervous and just feeling a ton of emotions rolling through me. I want to lose 60 pounds tomorrow. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.My weight management doctor has me on phen 37.5 + 1 BioLean Free pill + 3 WinOmega3Complex pills to start with. I am going to try to be happy if I can lose 10 pounds my first month. But secretly, I'd really like to lose 15-20. Setting realistic goals is a problem for me.
I look forward to interacting with you all! I could really use some friends through this. My face-to-face friends are not happy with my decision to use medication to lose weight...

That really helped me a lot. I started workingout a couple of days ago and I am totally lost as what to do. I have been doing the "bike thingie" and something like a stairs with arm thingies...As you can see I am no expert in psyciacl equipment, but all the guys that work at the YMCA that I go to are not helpfull at all. They are to busy with the "look better in short shorts" girls.
Oh my Gosh Angie I totally sympathise huni. I no exactly where ur at. I split with my boys Dad of 8years over Xmas and then in this last week it has all most definatly come to a head now.
But anyways huge congrats on ur 6lb's lost.
I think splittin from him has really made me SSSOOOOO much more determined to loose the baby weight now and then shove two fingers right at up him!!, LoL.
@lcarter01 - I have committed to walking for at least 45min with my 11 y/o son every day. I haven't started any other excersize plan yet. There's a gym in my complex but since we live in a college area, the place is usually packed.
My son is about 15lbs overweight (thanks to mommy and her bad habits of course) so I have definitely found a new strong motivation. We have walked every day this week, and it's been great. It gives him exclusive time with his mom, and quality time for us both, as well as good excersize.
I'm still looking to buy a treadmill this week, so I can jog in the morning. Hopefully I'll begin weight training by the end of the month - I just really want these first 20lbs off!

Thanks Louise and yeah this is hard.. we have been married 12 years and I knew things were going sour but now there is no communication, we live in seperate residences... when someone is such a part of your life its hard to remember what your life was like without them.. But I have started to do things that I miss and loved prior to him which has made me feel great. Now the concentration is not so much about food, and cooking which is nice. I plan meals for myself and then save whatever is left for lunch or freeze it. Your right.. pain and sorry can either propel you forward or overcome you into someone who is bitter. Im not a bitter person and want to take this time out for me, for once I know im worth it.. Thanks guys for all your kind words, this forum is great.
i started Feb 1st. so far have lost 11 pounds, I'm looking forward to meeting my goals. I'm getting married Sept. 3rd. and hope to look great in my dress. i started losing weight in January, but couldn't loose much, i started at 282, and at 279 i saw my Dr and he put me on 37.5, i have been going to the gym 2 or 3 times a week for about and hour and a half to two hours, i feel great, and i hope to look great soon too! One thing I can say and I am sure all the other girls will agree is lots and lots of water! My Dr also told me to eat 1200 calories a day with low carbs.
Not easy since I love cake cookies and bread but hey thats what got me here in the first place
. He also said exercise of course. Also if I couldnt sleep the first week to take a tylenol PM.

And yeah my Doc didnt really tell me anything about it. Just gave me a 900 cal a day food diet sheet and said make sure u excersize loads n sent me on me way.
Learnt so much about peoples different side effects and how theyr doin it from this site tho. :-)

ok ... so stay between 1200 and 900 cal.. I def been drinking alot of water..its nice because I'm secretly addited to diet coke
IM trying to break up with it .. and this phen is really helping with that...
so I SHOULD work out the first week.. ok.. will do..
this doc just wrote me the script.. lol ... told me how pretty I would be if I was thinand started talking about how to raise children... he was really old.. I just stopped listening.. and I was late for school! .. so I bolted out.. he wasn't getting anywhere with his speech..

I just started 2 days ago. My doctor is taking me little step by little step. He gave me a diet plan for the next two weeks. I go back then and he will add foods that I can eat. He didn't say it, but I think he is detoxing me right now. My plan:
Week 1: No meat or dairy. Fruit!Fruit!Fruit! in the mornings. Veggies!Veggies!Veggies! in the afternoon. He told me to blend an orange and some strawberries first thing in the morning and drink my meds down with it. He said to eat some pieces of fruit about each hour. At lunch, he told me to eat a big salad WITH whatever dressing I want. (He says he doubts anyone is overweight because of salad dressing) And then I am to eat the same for dinner. I can also add in whole grains.
Week 2: Add meats with dinner.
No calorie counting or fat gram counting for me. At least not now.
I'm not sure how things are going to change after that. But I can handle making a change for a week or two.
This is only what he told me. It might not be ideal for all of his patients.

I weighed again at mom's this morning, and I've lost another 6lbs! So that's 10 total in my first two weeks on phen (13lbs total since my SW of 292) I was soooo happy to look down and finally see the scale say 270-anything I was miserable when it was 290-**.
@blu_iz2477 - I weigh myself once per week as a sort of a routine check-in to make sure I'm on track with my plan. In order to meet my first mini goal for my bday in July, I have to lose a minimum of 3lbs per week. The monthly weigh in is my 'big deal', because it's in front of the doc... so I'm trying to keep a close eye on it.
