Default Accountability partners anyone?

Okay so I know I saw a post super similar to this, but like I said in some of my other posts, I really need someone to be accountable to. Or a group of people to be accountable to. We could make set times to workout or how long and how often we are going to work out and then post. I think it would be super fun! Anyone who wants to do this with me just post or send me a PM! I would be very appreciative! =]

This sounds great. I have to work wed and thur 7am-7pm. I’m an OB nurse. So I’m either going to do 30 min on the elliptical @ 5am or after 7 when I get home. There are a few nurses at work that are doing the same, and we encourage each other to make better eating choices during the day and stay on track. We have all started about the same time. I AM GOING TO LOSE 70lbs!!! That is my long term goal. I started phen on 1-18-10 and have already lost 12lbs. I go back to the Dr. on 2-3-10. I know if I keep up the good workout routine and healthy eating I will lose more b/4 then. Can’t wait!!
PS you should join the V-Day goal You just set a wt. goal for that and post it in that forum.
Mine is 210. I set it for 2-20-10 but, I’m hopeful I’ll get there by V-Day.
As of this morning I weighed in at 228.

Hey ladies,
I'll jump on board here too. I work overnights so I usually wake up at one pm and after my 'breakfast' I do two half hour fit tv workouts. I like bodies in motion with gilad and also sharon mann. Once it gets nicer out here in nj I will definately be breaking up this routine with some walking, hiking, and tennis. What's everyone else doing?

count me in. i too work overnites, i usually hit the gym M/W/F round 9am for 30mins and im off to bed by 3pm. starting nxt month i want to kick it up to 4days a week and 45mins a day. as soon as i get my wii i want to join the wii challenge they have going on too

MsBridget- yay! I am so glad that you are onboard! I hate working out and I feel like if I have people on my booty to get in gear then I will! Lol.

Harbor-lover- So glad you are on board too. I started phentermine on 01/19/2010 so we almost have the same start date and the same weight almost. I have lost 8lbs so far. I love the elliptical! I want to lose around 70-80lbs. It would be so awesome if we could keep this forum going and go through this journey together!

KimberlyAnne22- So glad you decided to join! I love to do the workout videos on the tv. I try to alternate my workout routine to where I’m not always in the gym. I liked to power walk with my dog around the neighborhood or the park but the weather here in Houston is really stinky. Not good walking weather.

iTaurus- Thanks for joining! I try to workout M/W/F as well for about 30 minutes or more. I try to do 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical and then do some weight training. I want to get a wii so bad!! I’ve been meaning to get one it seems like it would be so fun to join the challenge!

Okay guys I am so excited to actually get this thing going! So do we want to try to post every day, every other day? We can post how long we worked out what we did, if we “cheated” on our meal plan, anything. My main problem is being honest if I have flaked out on working out lol. So I am going to be honest with you all about everything from cheats, laziness everything!

So what all are you doing to lose the weight? What kind of diets are you on? Harbor-Lover what all are you doing to lose the weight?

I try to go to the gym M/W/F for 30-45 minutes. I do 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical and run about 3 mi in that time. I do like 15 minutes of weights mainly my flabby arms and thighs. lol.

I started out doing low cal/low fat but am trying low carb. I'm on my 3rd day of the Atkins induction phase.

As far as exercising I try to do a video in the morning and in the evening, but sometimes I only get the chance or only feel like doing 1. Some of the ones I do are Jillian Michaels Shred and Boost Metabolism, a walking one that equals anywhere from 1-3 miles depending on which one I do and then cardio videos.

AerieFae- Count me in!! I'm on this site all day while I'm at work lol

My diet is high protein/low carb. I eat around 700 calories a day getting in as much lean meat and veggies with as little protein as possible.

As far as working out goes, I'm not doing to good but hope to get better! I am signed up to Gold's Gym but the only time I find to go is on the weekends I work 8:30-5 monday through friday and go to school monday through thursday and have a few hours of homework each night plus studying on the weekends. I do, however, have tae bo dvds and some others that I need to make some time for! I'm really excited for this thread to take off!

If yall ladies don't feel too uncomfortable with a guy for a partner, I'd like to be a part of it! Right now I'm pretty much just treadmilling it at the gym for 30 minutes on my lunch break, and then 30 minutes at home in the evening. I take the weekends off. I typically eat about 6-700 calories a day with no carbs, and mainley eat chicken, beef, and vegetables. I'm on the Internet all day long in my office as well, so I'm always around!

Wishflower- So glad to have you here! My doctor wanted me to do low carb high protein, no fruit high veggies….but I tend to get of that course and just eat below 30% fat and around 1,000 cals a day. I love fruit so it’s super hard for me not to eat it. Lol. And I eat a lot of lean cuisines for lunch being that its convenient. I do this one walking video that sounds pretty similar to the one you do.

Southernbelle88- Whatever you can get in workout wise is good! Tae bo is super fun!

B-rizzle – Of course you can join! Everyone is welcome. Lol. Gender is not an issue!

Okay so today was a workout day for me! I ran on the elliptical machine for 30 min and ran a total or 3.1 mi. I didn't do any weights like I should have but I think I will use my hand weights tonight while I watch American Idol. I love to workout while watching tv. Sometimes I use the moves from a walking video I have and just walk/run in place, do side steps, kicks etc while watching tv. I get a pretty good workout, and time flys while I'm watching my favorite shows. lol.

So on another note, I need to kick my addiction to grapes. They are so high in sugar! But I love them. But everything in moderation I suppose. lol.

So how has everyone else been doing workout/diet wise?

Fae I love to do that stuff while watching tv too. A healthy way to
kill 2 birds with one stone..

Well TOM is upon me as of today so I was glad to still see my numbers finally drop. I hadn't seen any changes since Friday when I do my weekly weigh ins that I record (even though I do weigh every day) .. I was down 3lbs!

I didn't workout this morning, but I'll be doing my nightly workout when everyone goes to bed.

So here is the truth I was going to work out when I got home tonight, but I got home late and really tired. I had a long 13hr day at work. Also TOM is here and I just don’t feel like exercising. I know it’s a bad excuse. That’s why I’m going to make up for it this weekend. At least I was good and stuck to my diet. I had about 800 cal today. Good luck tomorrow everyone. And congrats to everyone who did exercise today. Good Job

No worries Harbor! I was supposed to work out on monday but got sidetracked. lol. I did pretty good on my diet today though I did have taco bell...BUT I got two crunchy tacos and only ate the insides not the shell. lol. Excuses excuses I know. lol. But oh well. If I deprive myself then I will end up gorging myself. haha.

you are a trooper. i cant get on that elipticall for more than 3mins to save my life! ugh how do u do it i want to use it sooo bad i heard its good for cardio. well today before 3pm i meant to post this but my workout had me exausted, i dozed off fully dressed on the bed lol. today i did my usual workout on the treadmill, but today i wanted to burn a little more than the usual 250 cals the doc suggested so i stayed on a little longer almost reached 2miles so tht was a big deal for me! came home and watched the biggest looser on the dvr. picked up a few excersize routines i want to try, i pretty much got to my 1000 cals a day mark i had my "dinner" around 11am (lol...yes dinner 3rd shifter here!) half a baked potatoe and some baked fish. got my 60oz in as well. i am dying for feb 5th to get here so i can weigh in and take my workouts up and my water intake, i REALLY want to reach my goal for vday of 210 (215 is fine too) *sigh this is really long so ill end it here lol. how did everyone else do?

wishflower- what a great idea! I think I may try that when I watch tv!

I actually made time for the gym yesterday because I got out of class early. 30 mins on the treadmill and 30 mins on weights.

breakfast: coffee
lunch: turkey sandwich and a mini snickers fudge bar (bad I know!)
snack: fruit cup (25 cals, sugar free besides what's in the fruit)
dinner: steamed broccoli w/reduced fat butter and lemon pepper

1/27/10- 235.8
1/28/10- 234.4 yayy I lost 1.4lbs yesterday

b-rizzle don't be shy to post before and after pics! Those are so inspirational! Wish I had some to share but I won't for awhile lol

Okay, I weighed in again yesterday and I am down to 261! That's another 7 pounds lost last week. Yesterday I treadmilled it for 30 minutes on my lunch break, and I usually do the same at home for 30 minutes, but I was busy installing crown molding in the new baby's bedroom! I think I burned a few calories doing that as well. LOL...

If I do post up a before and after pic, should I do it in this thread, or start a new one????

I can't do the eliptical machine either! It kills my knees for some reason! I guess I'm just a giant wuss (trying to become a smaller wuss!!) LOL

Wow the actual reason why I use the elliptical is because I feel like it's better on my knees! lol. Running fast on the treadmill and having all my weight come down on my knees...ouchie! Well when I workout I have my ipod on full blast and I am normally listening to something loud and fast paced. And by the end of it my pulse is like 190 I am sweating and red as a beat, I think I overdue it sometimes lol. For some reason despite my weight I have always been pretty good at running ON WORKOUT MACHINES. Put me in a real life scenario where I have to run and I will pass out within 5 minutes. lol.

SouthernBelle88- yay for working out! Lol. I have to be dragged out of the house normally to hit the gym, but we have to do it lol.

B-rizzle- I would love to see it! I would be okay with you posting it on here. Does the forum have any rules that you have to post success stories in the success stories forum? I know when my sister was at a trying to conceive forum they wouldn’t like you to post pregnancy successes in the trying to conceive one BUT I think that is a much more sensitive subject. Lol. Way to go for losing 7lbs! And congrats on the new baby!

Well like I said before I am a bit addicted to weighing myself EVERY MORNING and this morning I am a bit disappointed. Normally after I workout the next day I lose like 1-2lbs but this morning I only dropped .5lbs…but I suppose a loss is much better than a gain. Lol. And there’s the fact that I have been a little constipated because of the phen (sorry if that was TMI guys. =/ ) And TOM is right around the corner. But I need to stop whining a loss is a loss no matter what. Well this is super long sorry guys! Goodluck with the diets and workouts today I know you all can do it!!!!

I was hoping to reach out to all of you and get some help.

My Mom and I go to the same doctor and she had an appt today, so I asked her to see if my doctor would prescribe Phen to me... well of course it turns out she does not prescribe weight loss pills! I'm so discourged.
SOO I'm stuck.
Anyone know a doctor in the PHILADELPHIA area that will prescribe Phen? I am 5'6 225, well in qualifying range.

ANY help would be really appreciated.

Okay so today has not been a good day at ALL. I haven't been hungry at all. I've been upset because of a silly boy and that along with the phentermine makes my appetite go far far away. I managed to eat like 1/4 of a thing of Ramen noodles which is horrible. Comfort food I guess. I moved some bedroom furniture into my room, does that count as working out? lol. Anyway like I said today has been a very poopie day. I've done nothing but sit in my chair and read a book and move furniture. Probably won't do anything else all day. UGH. lol. Hopefully tomorrow will be a wonderful day.

Fae - Aw, I'm sorry to hear about your day being poopy. Hope tomorrow is better for you! Moving stuff around can be nice, making things feel fresh and new again. Even when I move little things around it makes me feel better looking at it lol.

Weighed this morning, and I was down 1 lb to 254.5. The rest of the day I actually was down another .5 to 254. Usually there's higher daytime fluctuation! I did some cardio this afternoon, but didn't bust my butt as much as normal since I was so busy the first half of the day.

Hope everyone is doing well.

today pretty much scuked like any day i dont go to the gym. i had nothing to do really. everything was uber clean lol. so i sat around and felt fat all day lol. but for the most part im looking forward to today, i get to work out and burn some calories YAY!! its weird seeing how excited i am to work out. never thought in a million yrs id be tht person. i really LOVE this site and this thread in particular. you guys keep me on my toes for the most part. yeah i had a bummer day thursday after work but i WANTED to be up and moving doing something i just couldnt find anything. the old me wouldnt have cared at all. so thanks guys for being that little voice on my shoulder saying get up and move! it really goes a long ways and i appreciate it. so pls keep posting! it is very motivational and inspirational to see real and HONEST people on the same journey as you. oh and before i forget CONGRATS 2: southernbelle88 (1.4 sweet!), B-rizzle (7lbs amazing!), and AerieFae (.5 is awsome could be nothing) on your weight loss and if i missed anyone i am OH SO sorry

So yesterday after I posted that "blah" reply lol. I actually lost a pound. So that's good. =] Today is a workout day for me so I need to find something to do, I don't know if I really feel like going to the gym today. I think I might do a couple of workout videos instead. Congrats to everyone on their weightloss! And I am so happy that this thread is turning into everything I wanted to be! All of you have been so great! It puts a big smile on my face! All of the encouragement and understanding that we are showing everyone and that yall are showing me is helping me out in a BIG way. So I just wanted to say thank you everyone for continuing to post, and I hope that we can keep this thing going for a long time. =]

today was gym day. i felt sooooo much better. got a good nites rest and came back to work for some overtime. today i get an additional workout here since the patrols take 30+ mins to do vs. my 8 to 10 at my regular site. ikinda slacked today (friday) on my water intake and im feeling bloated as ever so im gonna add more water in today to flush it out. other than that i had a good day. hope everyone else did as well

So...are people falling off or what? lol. Well this weekend was good diet wise, haven't really done much working out cus my workout partner is out of town, which is def an excuse but oh well i suppose. I cleaned the entire house today so yay for me. TOM has come. Dang it. I feel so bloated so I've decided that I am not weighing myself until TOM is gone. So how has everyone been doing? Sorry for falling off for the weekend. It was a little busy. I hope everyone is doing wonderful and on track with their diet and exercise! Let's not let this thread fall off!! Please.

Default hey everyone....

just checking in to see how everyone is doing. i had a good weekend besides the fact that i worked 7days straight thanks to the snow out here, every one called out *sigh....well saturday and sunday i THINK i did a bad thing. i had a snickers bar a WHOLE snickers bar! after i ate it i felt horrible. i looked at the wrapper and read those calories and almost cried lol (so serious) i wasnt near my calorie intake for the day yet so i worked around it because i didnt want to go over my limit. i guess that was my way of justifying the treat. it was the 1st time i had cheated since i started my diet. then SUNDAY idk what came over me. my friend made a cake like last week and i didnt even touch it. so im settling down for the evening before i have to pull a double and i decided to have a spoon full of frosting UGH!! it was so good tho....turned the container around and seen the calories in that. SMH 150 for a tablespoon WTF? man i slacked so hard this weekend. im going on a month of using phen and dieting and im pullng stunts like this already. (sorry just had to let that out guys lol) anyway this week is looking up tho. i got to increase my work out time and i added in a day also up'd my water intake and it feels good.

Fae, I know what you mean.. I just got over TOM.

I'm at 251.5 and can't wait till I get in the 240s. I did a
45 min cardio/strength yesterday and crunches afterwards.
Like in my sig, I am doing personal monthly exercise challenges too.

Taurus, try not to beat yourself up for having a snickers. Remember it's harder to stick to something if you can't incorporate realistic things into it, but we can pick (or most of the time) similar things that aren't as loaded with calories. Try the 100 cal snack packs. I loved trying the choco. chip cookie ones with a glass of skim/2% milk and was satisfied.

Hi if it's not too late I like to jump on?? I work an average of 54-63 hrs a week and have 7 kids so I really need to have someone to be accountable to. Right now I do my treadmill 2 hrs every other day and 30 minutes of the other days. I also live to do the work outs on fit tv. I do the 30 day shred ( but I have to admit I do curse Jillian out as I do it lol) I also love Ballywood has anyone else tried it? I mix it up trying different ones every other day or so. I recently tried kickboxing and my shoulder blades are still sore lol.
