    Default Dr. Oz's Energy Diet

I am a Dr. Oz fan, so when I saw him on the cover of "Woman's World" magazine, I had to buy it.

In the article, he mentions that he is a big fan of the supplement, ribose. He suggests taking 5 grams of ribose 2-3 times daily. He said it will turbocharge folks with even the worst fatigue and help with weight loss.

So, I drove to the vitamin store today and picked up a bottle of ribose. I thought it would be in tablet form, but I just opened the bottle, and it is a powder. Does anyone know how I should take this supplement? Should I mix it in water? Should I mix it into my food? I'm not sure what to do with it.

    Please help. Thanks!!!

This is what I found on a website:

    http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Suppleme...se-Powder.html

    Dosage and Use

Take one level scoop once or twice daily with food for supporting cardiovascular health and energy levels in working muscles*, or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner.

For alternative dosing, take one scoop before and after exercise.

D-Ribose has a natural mildly sweet taste and can be mixed into hot or cold food.

D-Ribose can be used as a sweetener.

Continued use is necessary to maintain the benefits of D-Ribose Powder.
    Caution
D-ribose can mildly lower blood glucose levels; therefore, insulin-dependent diabetics should check with their healthcare practitioner before starting on the supplement. Take D-ribose with meals, or at least mixed into juice, milk, or fruit, to offset the blood glucose-lowering effect.

I am a vitamin and supplement freak so I would so love to find out how it has worked out for you. I might be making another trip to the vitamin store. I could use it in my tea.

I still have time in this month of December to drop a couple of more pounds. I was shooting for a good -50 pounds to be gone before the year was up but I am please and Thankful for what I have lost. As long as that scale continue to go down and not up. It gets rough some days but take it one day at a time and try not to get hooked up on the amount but the accomplishments you are making.

I have been taking Vit. B complex in addition to Phen. Two of my coworkers were told by cardiologist's that they should take it for energy and weight loss. I'm not sure yet if it is making a difference...I think I am less sleepy. I will look into this powder you mentioned, keep us updated on how it is working for you!
    Thanks,
    Cyndy

I am a big fan of Dr. Oz as well. You could check his website to see if there is any information that may help you figure out how to use Ribose.

    Good luck!!!!

    Thanks for all the responses!

So I tried the Ribose for the first time yesterday. Dr. Oz recommends 5g, but I started at a lower dose just to be on the safe side. The powder tastes sweet (kinda like a honey flavor) so I mixed it into my tea. I didn't notice a huge surge in energy. However, Dr. Oz recommends taking 5g three times a day. I took about 1g just once yesterday. I am going to slowly increase the dosage and will report back.
