Welcome Shawntaedaylin! It's great that your husband is supportive (mine is the same way and it's so helpful)! I've had the remarks from the kids also (like wow mom, the trampoline touches the ground when you stand on it...) and it really makes me realize because they are so honest and innocent. Great weight loss so far, 12 lbs in a couple of weeks is awesome! Good luck!

Yes they are so honest...Well I am glad to hear that Im not the only one that has the "supportive hubby" How long have you been on phen? Im trying to figure out the right time to take them, so that I dont feel totally drained at the end of the day. I find myself waking up around 3 in the morning and wanting to eat.....

Default Hey! Just started Jan. 1st

I posted this on the thread for newbies, but this seems to be where everyone is hanging out. So, I thought I would repost my introduction here!

Hey everyone. My name is Krys, and this is my first time on Phen. I started on Jan 1st, and have lost 7 pounds. I am really excited and I think this is gonna work for me

I have two little girls. One is two and the other is 8 months old. I have always struggled with weight, but having the babies piled it on. I have a goal of 100 pounds! It sure seems like a lot just thinking about it! But I am ready to do this.

I am welcoming any buddies that will help keep me accountable

    Krys
Started Phen on Jan. 1st 2010!

The drs scale was nice to me! I was 145 on her scale which is only 2oz from mine!

I will probably try to play the Wii tonight, my cousin is coming over with her boys later tonight and I think we'll have a little of Conley's cake then. He's 4 years old today bittersweet.

    Phen Newbie

Default After being on 3 months, doc says that's all I should be on this... ugh

    Hi Phen users.

I started Phen 3 months ago. Lost 11 lbs the first month. Was 166, down to 155. Today I weigh in at 152.6 I think eating during the holidays made it bad, but my doc says "no one should be on Phentermine for longer than three months as it can effect the heart and it's not for long term weight loss. And, after three months you should know how to eat and how much to eat".
I called in to ask for one more month of a refill for the forth month and he okayed it, but said 'it's my last month'.

He said it has the same thing as Cocaine and should not be used in larger doses and after a short time, the power of the pill goes away to the body, so there is no use in using it.

Okay ladies, men, please tell me this...
Knowing it's my last "month" of the refill, should I stop using it, go onto an over the counter appetite suppresant for one month (feel free to suggest one you have used and liked) and then try to 'jump start' my system again next month like it did when I lost the first eleven pounds on that first month?

I am only 5'1.5" and so, every pound on me is like 4 on a tall person. I am NOT exercising at all. I find myself very tired as I am not sleeping well at night. Find myself unable to wake up in the morning until the Phen has been in my system again for two hours. Even though I drink three cups of coffee and a diet drink during that time.

One more question: I get my phen from a pharmacy, written by a doc. Do any of you get them from online or from not a doc? Wondered about that and if it's not the real thing online.

    Thanks, Karen in Phoenix, Arizona

Good Afternoon Everyone and welcome to all the newbies. So I got on the scale today and it read 205.3, only 2.4 lbs to go til i reach my goal for the week. I sure hope i can make it. I have to take it easy today so i wont be getting in much exercise. I really hope this doesnt hurt me tomorrow when i weigh.

As far as having supportive husbands, its hard to lose weight when they say your fine they way you are. My hubby is also on phen so that helps me out a great deal. he is the one who keeps me going on the days when i just dont care anymore. I hope all of you newbies can find someone who is supportive and to go through it with you. My biggest support besides my husband is TEX and I met her on here. You all can do. Stay postive.

Shawntaedaylin - I just started yesterday. I've taken it before but not the same dosage and it was several years ago. I took a whole one today (half yesterday and it was wearing off around dinnertime) so I will see how I feel around dinner or bedtime. My friend goes to the diet dr and he told her to eat and then take phen around two hours later and then wait to eat til at least an hour after that. I might try that and see how that works and if it stays with me longer. I'm gonna see how today goes first though. I'll let you know...

Krys - Welcome and congrats on the 7 lbs - wow! My goal is 79 so I'm right there with ya! We can do it!! Good luck!

Christy - congrats on the "evil dr scale" outcome!

Karen - hi and welcome. I've heard that you shouldn't take phen longer than 3 months, but I know people who have done it. A jumpstart might be good though - time to clean out your body and then re-charge it. I actually got my prescription from my OB/GYN as my primary won't prescribe it. One thing that's worked for me if I had trouble sleeping - a good workout before bedtime. It helped give me energy in the long-term because I was working out, but helped me sleep because it wore me out (if that makes sense). It's very hard to start but once you do, it's great! It makes me feel so much better. Or, some people like a morning workout - they say it wakes them up - it doesn't work for me, but it's worth a shot. I hope this helps a little. Good luck!

Ryleighsmommy15 - Hi! I understand about the supportive husbands making it hard to lose weight. Luckily my husband has the "I love you how you are but if losing weight is what you want to do then I'm with you" and he helps my by "reminding" me that I don't really need a late night sweet. He tries to eat better too and that makes it easier. Sounds like you've got a good one!

ryleigh- I couldnt agree more... I was 150 when I met my husband (5 years ago!) and all this time he keeps telling me I look "great to him" or "he likes a little meat". Hearing this all the time I kind of just got comfortable. I thought I looked great until I saw a picture of myself after just having my second child and was honestly shocked. I had no idea I looked that bad! I appreciate him trying to make me feel good... and Im so blessed to have a husband that loves me as much as he does... but sometimes I just want him to call me a fat *** to motivate me!

    How backwards is that!

I started back to work this week ending my 6 week maternity leave and am stuck wearing maternity clothes

Girl I know what you mean. My daughter is 3 months and I had to go out and buy a few clothes just so I could quit wearing my maternity clothes and I still wear some of them because I am so much bigger than I was when I got pregnant and I'm not going to buy a whole new wardrobe - I am just going to lose weight!

I wish I could buy a few more things... because I know my employees and clients recognize me wearing my maternity clothes. Its petty embaressing!!! However not having the extra money to buy other clothes is pretty motivaing! I had finally gotten down to 180 right before I got pregnant... (oops).. I delivered weighing 287!!! I cant believe how big I got! So I am quite a way from fitting into my old clothes... depressing.

    Wink Good Evening!

    Good Evening Lovely Ladies!!!

Shoefiend...where are you at in IL?? My aunt lives in Springfield. She's dreading the snow, too. As of right now, they are calling for 3-6 inches for us. I'm just south of Indianapolis. FINGERS CROSSED!!! Makes me nauseous to drive in this crap!!! Especially with my daughter! Makes me ten times more nervous!!!

Sandie....I was around 282 when I delivered my daughter 6/1/08! I'm more now then when I finished giving birth!! Pretty sad!!! We all support one another! We can do it together! The best thing I feel I can do is post when I feel like I NEED to eat something or whatever. It's helped me a lot!

honeybaby...I used to live in NC. I was a teacher and it was SO FUNNY to watch all of my coworkers FREAKING OUT! We used to joke with one of the 2nd grade teachers to not let his dog out cause if she went out and peed and it froze, school would be cancelled.

hinagainby30...where are you living in NC??? I lived in Salisbury for 4 years. It's about 45 minutes north of Charlotte on I-85. LOVED it down there...just too far from family in Indiana.

I did great today! I made turkey wraps with cheese and romaine leaves for lunch with a yogurt and pint of cherry tomatoes and tonight I had a turkey sandwich, raw carrots, and a sugar free creme brule pudding.

Anyway, need to get a few things done before going to bed. Have a lovely evening all! I can't wait till morning and see how I did. I know, I have to remember that I won't lose every day! But the first few weeks usually show good results! Here's hopin!!!!

    Night all!!!!

I'm posting from the phone so I hope it's not goofy.

we are gonna have to burn these maternity clothes (or at least one thing) when we lose weight. we don't have much money right now (hubby's work is slow) so we shop at goodwill a lot. I've gotten just enough to get by for work. I keep looking at those smaller clothes...wishing. last year at this time I was about 175 and now 219. It's going to happen...we'll be saying...'bye bye maternity clothes, bye bye...

    Good evening everyone!

I posted in another thread, but just wanted to drop in on this one too I'm new to the forums and just started attempting to lose weight as of today. I'm taking two 37.5 mg Phentermine pills a day and I'm getting B12 injections at my Doctor visits.

My doctor wants me to lose 125 pounds but I'm setting mini goals for myself. Right now I'm focusing on losing 25-30 pounds.

Have you all found it best to weigh in daily or weekly? Any tips would be great and helpful!

Best of luck on all your weight loss goals!!

Ok first of all stop the caffeine it will make the phen leave your system faster. The online thing is usually not Phentermine and it's illegal to buy without a prescription. I've been on it for 4 months now and have atleast one month left.

Fabulous - my husband even loves goodwill! We try to really hit it on the first sat of the month (1/2 price day) and on sundays (certain tag color .99). We pretty much always come out with name brand clothes (that's pretty much all my husband will wear anyway) and he's so hard to shop for being 6'7. I am NO good at coupons but my granny told me about a class that a lady gives sometimes about couponing so I'm gonna go to that. I've started looking online for them too though and have done ok there. if you've got any tips, I'm all ears...

mscasanova - yeah, maybe they have some secret man manual that has the verbiage for being supportive of a "more to love" type wife.

    Welcome Tonya and good luck!

Way to go Christy! I agree with you on the protein shake thing. Me and the hubby were looking at some this week and I definitely need to get some as I'm not wanting to eat breakfast and so I'm not getting as many cals as I should. Protein works wonders in my body too - especially if I workout a lot!

I hope everyone has a wonderfully thin day today!

WOW! Welcome all of you new people!!!! Glad to have you!

It's awesome hearing all of these awesome stories and the weightloss everyone is getting. Congrats!

Repeat - Thanks for the encouragement. Sometimes I don't do so well in eating 1500cals, especially when its TOM. I noticed I do better when I eat about every 3 hours 5 mini meals. It really does keep my energy going.

One thing I hate though is after work I ALWAYS feel super hungry. Even if I eat a snack right before I leave? Does anyone else have this problem where there's a certain time of the day where their body just wants to eat? Mine is always right after work. And I try to shake that off by eating a small snack..but it never curbs my appetite. I know it's probably all in my head. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Poisonivy - The drivers in TX are the same way. If there's half an inch of snow the entire state will close down..lol (not literally)..but we do have many people who call into work just because of half an inch of snow. Then again, we don't have snow plows or chains for our tires or anything like that here. The only thing we have are the sand trucks and that's "IF" they decide to go out on the roads.

I don't know if any of you have heard of Chantel Hobbs, but she wrote the book "Never Say Diet". It's a great way to get a life and mind change rather than just losing weight. Because as I know, and some of us others know that if you don't change your mind you will gain some weight back. It's happened to me and it stinks! Anyhow, she was 349lbs and dropped 200lbs just by changing her attitude about food. Awesome book. She's kept it off 8 years so far! The only thing is I want to see a more drastic weight loss, so I am doing some of what the book says, but for now I'm doing a little bit more so I can see more weight gone and better results. However, I do think that following the book will really help get my mind to change my relationship with food and exercise and help me be more focused and dedicated life long rather than just "now".

So yesterday I did "ok". I ate pretty healthy and not too many cals. I exercised with my daughter for about 60 minutes. I have a walking buddy and we walk after work everyday if it's not raining or sleeting. We walked for 30 minutes. She pushed the stroller and I used the weights then we switched off. We have a park in our neighborhood so we went there and I let my daughter run around while I chased her. She had a blast and it was a great workout for me. Then we did some weight exercises while we were there and finished walking some more. Today I plan to do some inside stuff since it's sleeting today.

    Welcome Newbies

Karenfromphoenix - I have tons family that live in a suburb of Phoenix, Surprise. I have to tell you I am so jealous of your weather right now since where I live it is freezing and dumping buckets of snow! I agree with Christy in reference to the caffeine issue, definately not good for you while on phen. Not only does it make it leave your system faster it can also cause high blood pressure and heart probs. My doc strongly advised to stay away from caffeine, the only thing he allows is my cup of green tea in the am to replace my coffee habit. Also, I would stay away from the online ordering of "phen". It is not the real thing, and who knows what they put in it. If you look closely you will notice each site spells it slightly differently by one or 2 letters to throw you off if you dont pay attention, plus phen is meant to be taken only while in a doc's care so you can be monitored for high bp, etc. Maybe talk to your doc and aske if you take a month off if you can start again as long as you can maintain or lose a bit more with out. My doc has done this for me in the past, and also gave me a different medication to use during my phen break. Hope this helps

Poisonivy - I am in a tiny rural town called Durand, population 1100, right on the border of Wisconsin and right outside of Rockford. Our weather is now calling for potentially up to 13in snow by this afternoon, we already have 5 or 6 Then tonight we will get high winds and drifting snow - blah! This winter has just been terrible, I am so ready for spring!

TCrocker72 - Welcome! I am totally doing the same thing as far as setting mini goals. I have found that if I look at the big picture I get too discouraged and end up quitting. Well not this time As for weighing in, everybody is different. For me, I get discouraged easily so I prefer to weigh in once a week, preferably same day and time. I have been really good about this for the past couple months... however the last couple weeks I have been checking 2x per week because my doc visit is coming up and I want to make sure i have great progress for my weigh in. I am also suprised that your doc advsed you to take 2 tablets of 37.5, I have never heard of that either. I have heard of people taking 2 tablets a day of the 15mg or 1/2 tablet of the 37.5 in the am and the other half in the pm. I think I would be running in circles non stop if I took 2 of the 37.5 per day. I would probably double check with the doc or pharmacy just to make sure, just so you are safe

Honeybaby - yep been having the snack attack issue lately too. It maybe just my Tom tho, not sure. I always get super hungry during Tom. I just try to up my water intake to make sure it isnt thirst and also find something to keep me busy so that I know it isnt boredom. I also ask myself, are you really hungry or just stressed, tired, etc and try to listen to my body for other clues like a rumble of the tummy. I keep tons of fruit and already cut up veggies, etc handy so that if is real hunger I have something really healthy to munch on.

shoefiend - Yeah, I keep the fruit and other things handy too. I also drink a huge glass of water right when I get home to make sure it's not thirst. I am pretty good about drinking my water for the day. However, it never fails if I don't have something "SOLID" to eat when I get home it just doesnt' curb my hunger. Like if I eat a banana or a piece of fruit I'll still want something that's actual food like a sandwich. So I end up eating even more since I already had the fruit. So I do eat the sandwich as well as the fruit. Then when I make dinner I am not hungry anymore. I've tried waiting until dinnertime to eat, but I start getting really bad headaches and dizziness when I do that. I guess I'm not actually "starving" so eating just the piece of fruit would suffice. I'm going to try it today. I'll report back later. Oh and I am not a night time snacker. After I eat dinner (between 5pm-6pm) I don't eat anything after that since I go to bed between 8pm - 9pm. I think today I'm going to drink my big glass of water, eat fruit, and then drink another glass of water and see if that helps.

JUSTARANDOMGIRL- ur schedule is a breeze compared to mine! lol I have to get up, get the kids ready for school and myself, get them OFF to school and then I have to rush to school, then rush to work, then rush to pick the kiddos up from school, then get them home and fed and to karate and do MY homework/study and the kids homework, get showers done for everyone and get them off to bed AND ensure that I get my wii fit and 30 day shred in somewhere too lmao If I can do it, u can too Its a matter of motivation. If u really want to exercise more then u will. Get a wii if u dont already have one...a treadmill? workout dvds? exercise can be a family affair too so u can make it fun...Its possible, u just gotta tell urself that its gonna happen, or else its not. Set days and times that u MUST do ur exercise by so u can hold urself accountable...once u get going, it will be easy for you...Good Luck!

So I just had a Fresca Taco from Taco Bell and YUCK! lol I HATE cilantro!! lol everything else was good on it though lol

Wow, you are busy... I have a wii and a recumbant bike. I would like to do the Couch Potato to 5K runner challenge on the bike, that's how I started running and I am up to running 3 miles. I would be cool to be able to "peddle faster" for three miles on the bike. The bike does wear me out.

You are right, it's all about accountability. There is no reason for me not to allow myself at least 30 mins in the evening on that bike.

    Happy Thursday everyone.

Hello everyone, this is a great thread. I am just trying to stay focused and keep the scale moving in the right direction. My weightloss has slowed, so I am in the process of tweaking things a bit.

Normally I go to the gym 6 days a week, but I too am in Indiana and the snow is really coming down, so I will pop in the 30 day shred for today. Thinking about getting the P90X tapes, for a little bit of muscle confusion, so if anyone has them, let me know what you think of them.

Really starting to focus more on food too. Making some healthy changes to the things we normally eat. I collect cookbooks, so I thought I would actually get in to some of them and try some things. I am also trying to have things on hand in a pinch, so that there is not a time when I am hungry and grab something unhealthy. I bought a bunch of snack type things and put them in individual serving size baggies. I think for me, planning ahead is going to be key.

Best of luck to each of us, lets do this thing once and for all!

jimswife - Planning ahead is totally key for me too. I just started "planning ahead" few days ago, but it has mad life so much easier. One thing I love is that since I get up at 5am to go to work I am not having to rush to get something ready for my lunches and snacks and end up making poor choices. Instead it's already planned for me I just grab the food in the morning, put it in my bag and go. Love it! And it's something I can continually do forever. I am staring this week to do my weekly meal plans on Sunday since that's my "break day". Keep up the good work.

You guys are a great source of encouragement! I read your stories and see your pictures and it just eases my worried mind to know that I CAN DO THIS!!!! It's not hopeless and it IS obtainable!

When I took Phen last time in 2007 I was taking 1 pill at first and then during the last month I think I reached a plateau or something and my doc put me on two a day of the 37.5 mg Phentermine (generics) - she told me to take 1 with breakfast and then one about 3 in the afternoon. It did make me a little jittery but I never had the heart flutters or anything like I've heard some people have.

The prescription on my Phen bottle (this is Adipex it looks like, does that make a difference?) says take 1 pill at 9am and then another at 3pm. Yesterday I only took one though and I was zooming. I think I'm going to stick with one - or 1 and 1/2 maybe because the 1 pill seems to be doing the trick at this time.

I think I'm going to weigh in weekly on the same day and time, Shoefiend. Like you daily would be too discouraging for me!
    My mini goals (SW: 265.5):
